Thrash metalheads Delirious have released their new album "Moshcircus", where they discuss about there being no pressure and had a lot of time to get it just right. They also talked about what they have planned for next.
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Delirious was formed 1990 in Hamm/Germany. We were all school friends and played in two different bands, called Deterrent and Atomic Death. After both bands split up, we decided to make music together in a new band. Today Delirious are Markus "Betty" Bednarek - Vocals, Markus Keller - Drums, Andreas Supplie - Guitar and Christian "Spletty" Splettstößer - Bass.
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
Oh that is very easy...you know ZZ Top - Afterburner? Every day after school, we met us at a youth club, we listen to music, play football and do alot of other things. One day our singer Betty came there with the Afterburner Album, on the back he read the song "Delirious"...and he says that is a good name for our new Band. We all says OK great yes, now we are Delirious.
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
We all live here in Hamm and the near Area. Our rehearsal is here, our work is also here, this is our home. In the late eighties the local scene were very big. There were many Metal Bands we met, drink Beer with and play some Gigs...Deterrent, Final Decay, Crusader, Javelin etc. Most of them were split up. Actually active from the old ones were only Delirious and Javelin. Today the scene is not so big. Only a few concerts and some new younger bands.
4. How would you describe your style? Which bands influenced your music?
Our style is Bay Area Thrash. We were influenced by Thrash Bands like Metallica, Testament, Exodus, Forbidden and earlier from Maiden, Priest, KISS.
5. What's your take on this new album as a whole?
All of us are very happy...because it takes very long time after we had the ideas and it was released. But we had no pressure at work, because we have our own studio and so we have a lot of time.
6. When can we expect to see the new album to be released?
The new CD "Moshcircus" was released in May this year and we hope that the vinyl version comes very quick.
7. What should labels/zines/promoters know about your band? Why should they be interested in it?
Because we are a very sympathetic Band, we have fun on what we do. Everybody can meet and talk to us after the shows. Every show we try to do our best. And we hope that the power on the stage comes to the audience .
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
Our plans are very simple...we want to play so many shows as possible and record a new CD very soon.
9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
You can listen our music on the internet at www.bandcamp.com. Naturally you can listen us at our live shows. You can buy our Merch at the concerts. Or you can contact Delirious Titti at www.facebook.com/deliriousthrash or direct at email@example.com
10.What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
We play music from fans to fans...and we hope the people feel that. That`s the music we hear and we like.
