COAL CHAMBER Fiend For The Fans Tour with Fear Factory, Twizted, & Black Satellite Rescheduled for Spring 2025! Check it out below.

“With a heavy heart, let me tell you a story about life taking a turn, I’m writing to you from my bed.

I’ve been running 6 miles daily, I’ve been rehearsing two hours daily in my home studio and excited to hit the road, I’m excited to get on a bus with my brothers and sister and my crew. I’ d never felt better and as you all know, I fought back hard after long haul Covid tried to kill me.

Saturday morning I woke up and I was coming up my stairs. I saw flashes in my eyes. I passed out and my wife revived me. My vitals were through the roof, and I was sheet white and vomiting, and the whole world was spinning. Anahstasia called 911. I ended up in the back of an ambulance and did nine hours in the ER testing all my vitals including taking X-rays of my heart and lungs. My doctor has advised me to get a cat scan, and until further testing, I am on bedrest and must postpone the Tour. Our agent sprung into action to rebook this tour for March 2025, and until we can figure out what the fuck medically is happening.

We will see you in March 2025 on the Fiend For The Fans Tour. This tour postponement is surreal, I was looking forward to playing with my band and connecting with fans, friends and family on the road.

I want to take a moment to thank everybody for their outpouring of love and outpouring of calls and texts checking on me. It seems like the word spread and the whole industry has been ringing my phone since Sunday; musicians, agents and managers and I really really appreciate it.

My band has been amazingly understanding and call me hourly - I thank them immensely for their caring nature.

Kiss your loved ones, no one is promised tomorrow. I’ll fight my way back to be with you all onstage you can be sure of that as well I’ll keep you all updated on my socials as to what’s going on. Apologies if this news causes you to rearrange your schedules to attend the concert with us and I want to say thank you in advance. We are all truly in the dark and I’m looking forward to finding out what’s going on. HAIL" - Dez Fafara, Coal Chamber

"After hearing the shocking news of our brother, we collectively had to make some tough decisions as a family . We discussed every possible scenario and it all lead back making sure Dez's health was the number 1 priority . In order for us to be 100% we need to take this extra time to allow him to make a full recovery so we can bring you the shows that you deserve !! We look forward to seeing you all in March 2025!!"  - Mikey Cox, Coal Chamber

"Sometimes you have to make tough decisions and I know Dez, if he could be on tour right now he would but health and family come first. We wish him a speedy recovery and we look forward to cybercrushing it on the “Fiends for the Fans”tour 2025." - Dino Cazares, Fear Factory

"It saddens us to hear about the tour, as we were hyped to see you all and get a chance to perform some of our brand new songs for the first time for you. That said, we want what's best for everyone and extend a speedy recovery to Dez & look forward rocking some shows together in the very near future." - Twiztid

"With a heavy heart, we are announcing that the Coal Chamber tour will be postponed until March 2025. A couple days ago Dez experienced a startling medical emergency. He is stable and doing okay, but needs to take the time to recover and get back to full strength. We completely stand behind him in this decision as his health is TOP priority. We are family, and are wishing Dez a speedy recovery. We all know he’s an absolute animal and will come back even stronger. We will take America by storm next year with Coal Chamber." - Black Satellite

Coal Chmaber an act best known in the 90's had done their course of show playing, touring, releasing music then things came to a stand still for them. After some time the guys began discussing about coming back in which they did, doing an array of shows, touring, that would lead to them releasing their fourth album "Rivals". Frontman vocalist Dez discusses about his time with Coal Chamber as well as his time with his other band DevilDriver and what the future holds for both acts!

1. How have the audiences been reacting towards your guys return?

Dez: The audiences have been incredible and the shows have been amazing. It's great to see the demographic of the people coming out, because our audiences are fairly young, I'd say about 70% are under 20 years old, which is incredible for us being gone for 13 years, starting out back in the 90's it's been a great ride so far, and that's why we wanted to do a record, we had a fun time touring and doing shows that we wanted to go further with it.

2. Why do you think bands tend to do this sort of thing, where they form, then go away then come back then go away again just to come back again?

Dez: I can only speak for Coal Chamber, we broke up for all sorts of reasons.  At the top of our game with records etc. The magic just wasn't there anymore so we broke up then in 2006/2009 we started talking again, then toured in 2012 and 2013, then decided from there that the communication was all reformed after having fun, so let's go and do a record!

3. When did you decide on bringing Coal Chamber back, like was it while you were doing stuff with DevilDriver or during your own time or were you just thinking about it to yourself and were like "I know something, you don't know and I'm not telling!"

Dez: Well communication about us started to form about us doing some tours and we did do some very short runs in Coal Chamber, and that was fun, the audiences were great, responses were fantastic. I had done 12 years, 6 records with DevilDriver, our last sixth record coming out on top, from there I looked and said, it's been 20 years, since I haven't taken any time off so I am taking some time off to spend with my family. Then  I also have a studio here where I can record at and Coal Chamber had hit me up saying look, you can be home, we can record, do a few tours around the record before you get back on with DevilDriver, what do you think? So all of that coming together just showed its face and the timing just worked out.

4. Would you mind telling me the story as to why your band got the name Coal Chamber, does it actually mean coal inside a chamber?

Dez: I don't remember who it was but one of us liked the word coal and one of us liked the word chamber, we wrote them down, saw them next to each other and were like okay that's the name!

5. Who are the "Rivals" on this new album?

Dez: Ya know, "Rivals" it's more about the artwork with the word rivals being scratched out. Rivals can be your dinner demons, inner self, external factors that are negative influences that have to go. If you listen to the lyrics on this record it's about expelling demons, getting rid of those negative influences in your life.

6. How did you guys choose who you wanted to have as guest vocals on the new album?

Dez: I knew Al Jourgensen of Ministry for a long time, I think he understands all sides of this band and how dark we can be. We can listen to The Cure, The Damned and also listen to punk rock stuff, and heavy metal stuff, so I think he understands all of those things, and was just the perfect guy to do it. Having him come to the house, have dinner, then go into my studio to record was an amazing thing to witness and I am honored that he was a guest on the record.

7. Did you get the album you wanted? Or was there anything leftover?

Dez: No some of the leftover stuff we did have it was leftover for a reason. Anything leftover will not be released.

8. Will we ever be seeing Coal Chamber and DevilDriver touring or playing a show together?

Dez: It will never happen. Two different animals completely. It's 2 sides of me of course, but I don't think those 2 sides will go well together.

9. What do you guys have planned for the rest of this year into next year?

Dez: We just got back from Monsters Of Rock that was incredible, now we are home for another week then go over to Europe. After Europe we come home, then have a U.S. tour in late July/August. After that taking some time off in the fall to start recording for the new DevilDriver record for a release next year.

10. Happy lucky 13 years for DevilDriver for 2015! Is that why you decided to write new tunes or that wasn't the case?

Dez: I didn't notice, in actuality for us most bands take a year off per record and we didn't we work hard as a band. In 12 years, we released 6 years, and I think it was just time to take time off, it was just by conscience that I was taking time off that Coal Chamber wanted me to record. As long as I can have dinner here with my family and record at the same time it's kinda like me being home anyway.

11. Will DevilDriver ever release their material in acoustic format?

Dez: DevilDriver and Coal Chamber will never be going acoustic. It's never going to happen.

12. What about performing any of your releases in their entirety?

Dez: I definitely would like to do that with both bands, DevilDriver and Coal Chamber. I would definitely like to play "Rivals" front to back and DevilDriver has a few albums to do that with as well. So if the opportunity arises we will see what happens.

13. Speaking of releases, you guys have yet to release a live album or live DVD, anything like that in the works?

Dez: Ya know, here's the thing, if you really want to check any stuff out we have so much DVD footage on numerous records, that you can get into our heads, by checking out all of that stuff. You also have to have the label on board as well, so later on down the road we'll see what happens in the future with that stuff with DevilDriver or Coal Chamber.

14. What plans do DevilDriver have in-store?

Dez: Well Coal Chamber is on a cycle right now, so one thing I do want to do with DevilDriver is record before this year is out. Making sure that this record is the best it can be, writing constantly, then finish out the Coal Chamber cycle.

15. Is there anything else you want to say to wrap this up?

Dez: Thank you for the support from everyone. I have been in this for a long time, all thank you to whoever has supported me and if you are just finding out, go check out a DevilDriver or Coal Chamber record and see how you feel.

Coal Chamber have released a lyrical video for the song "Suffer in Silence" which features guest vocals by Ministry frontman Al Jourgensen. Dez Fafara on "Suffer in Silence" and working with Al Jourgensen:

"Al has been a close friend for many years, he's a legend, and literally was the only guy I asked to be a guest on this record.  He came over to the house, we had BBQ a hell of a lot of wine then I had the pleasure of watching him in my home studio do what he does!  I fucking love this song so jam it loud!"

Napalm Records is pleased to announce the signing of Los Angeles, California's COAL CHAMBER, a band that stood as leaders at the forefront of new genres, constantly reinventing their sound and not fitting any mold except their own.   With sold out tours, and millions of records sold, COAL CHAMBER owned the Scene from the mid nineties until their tumultuous breakup in May of 2002.  Now they have returned to take their place at the top where they once were and intend to be there for years to come.  Call it what you want, "The Return", "The Second Coming of", but no matter what you call it, be prepared COAL CHAMBER to rule again.

Following a 12-plus year breakup the band reunited in 2011 and 2013 for Festival shows as well as an extensive North American tour. Now all four members of COAL CHAMBER (Dez Fafara, Nadja Peulen, Mikey Cox, Meegs) have decided the time was right to begin work on a new COAL CHAMBER album.  The band is currently working on the new material that they hope to release next year.

COAL CHAMBER spoke about their new record and signing with Napalm Records:

"How many times do you get a second chance at anything in life?

We toured the world, it was insane and crowds came out in force and we had a blast! For this I'm so appreciative!

Now..... It's time to release a NEW COAL CHAMBER RECORD!

The Vibe between us all is positive AND we've assembled a killer team around us!

"Now with NAPALM RECORDS on board get ready for a heavy, explosion from COAL CHAMBER!  We've evolved and so has the music, from the demo music I've heard you're gonna sink your TEETH into this! Stay tuned!"

Dez Fafara

"It's been a long time coming but the wait is over!  There are no words to describe how excited I am to be working on the new COAL CHAMBER record!!!  I can't wait to see all your faces when we rock this album out! Stay tuned!!!"

XO,

Nadja

"This is the first time in a long time that writing and recording a record feels right. Extremely grateful and excited for this new chapter in the world of COAL CHAMBER!! New music from CC is something we can't wait to share with the many loyal fans that have stuck it out through everything!!! The evolution of COAL CHAMBER has begun!"

Mikey Cox

"I'm so excited to be making music with my brothers and sister, and to the loyal fans who've been waiting for this! It's been a long time coming, but the pieces of the puzzle are finally aligned right. The friendship, the camaraderie, the vibe of the band is perfect now. Can't wait to unleash on the world!"

MEEGS

Napalm Records Vice President Thomas Caser on the signing of COAL CHAMBER:

"Rarely you get the chance to work with a band that has been a pioneer of a whole genre. We are thrilled and proud to get this chance with COAL CHAMBER! A new chapter of the band's history is being written and Napalm Records is committed to make it the most successful!"

Almost one year ago, Coal Chamber announced a slew of Australian reunion shows. Turns out they were testing the waters. A source close to the band told me once that they didn't think anybody cared about the band, and they were shocked at the overwhelmingly positive response they got at Soundwave. People went nuts. So, I guess it's time for them to test the waters in the US, as frontman Dez Fafara recently tweeted:

Could this be the beginning of a full-fledged US tour? Only time will tell since DevilDriver and GWAR will be going out on a tour soon.

Coal Chamber will be touring Mexico and South American in September 2012. Coal Chamber's first ever reunion shows will be happening in late February and early March as part of Australia's Soundwave Festival.

During an interview with Full Metal Jackie Dez had this to say in reagrds to the "return" of Coal Chamber; "Unbelievable. Full circle. I mean, to get those guys back in my life and clean off hard drugs and want[ing] to do shows, it's incredible. The feeling is incredible and the love had been just incredible as well. I woke up at 4:30 the other morning with my phone ringing off the hook and my Twitter, everything going crazy, it's so good to see. After all these years, we haven't played together in 10 years.

We've been going over the setlist and it's been nothing but fun right now. I mean, going back and forth about a setlist with these guys just turns into jokes and hours of e-mails of jokes and we forget what we're doing. So you realize that these guys are a big, big part of my life and I don't even know if I'd be here with DevilDriver for Meegs [guitar] and Mikey drums], so it's good to have them back in my life and getting ready to go do Coal Chamber shows."

In whether or not the two former bassists of Coal Chamber will be returning both Nadja Peulen and Rayna Foss are both have been busy with their own lives and doing various other activities. Dez went on to say that "Rayna was not [asked to be a part of it]. Rayna has been out of the band for a very long time. We did speak to Nadja. She has other things going and it wasn't really in the headspace where we were at as a band.

We found Chela; she's Canadian and she's a bad-ass player. She's been playing for nearly 12 years. She plays five-string and it's going to be good to have her on bass. She grew up with Coal Chamber. She's only 26-27 years old. She knows the songs, and just hearing her on the phone, the excitement [in her voice], that's really what I wanted brought to the table. Where Meegs and Mikey and I am right now, we're really excited so we needed someone that filled that excitement drawer and she did for sure; she's stoked."

Coal Chamber is indeed back and is totally ready to shred it to the max!

COAL CHAMBER, the '90s alt-metal band fronted by current DEVILDRIVER singer Dez Fafara, will reform for next year's Soundwave festival in Australia.

Commented Dez: "COAL CHAMBER is playing Soundwave Down Under! These reunion shows are for the fans that want to see us again as well as all the people that never got to see COAL CHAMBER. It is and always will be a very special part of my life, so these few shows are for those people and for us. If you're not from Australia, better get a ticket now to come see this event!"

Added guitarist Miguel "Meegs" Rascón: "Australia has never seen us, nor have we seen them. It will be an extraordinary exchange of energy and adrenaline.

"Hello Aussies, nice to meet you!"

He continued, "This reunion will mark a decade since we last played together, so staring at my brothers on stage face to face will be an emotional rollercoaster for me. Tears of joy would be an understatement, to say the least. You know, all of us have gone through our separate journeys in life, but we're coming back to rekindle this and throw the past in the past and put the future in our hands."

Stated drummer Mike Cox: "Of all the great achievements COAL CHAMBER made in the past, getting back together after all we've been through will be the greatest achievement to date."

Concluded Dez: "We've all grown up and put the personal past behind us now and are moving forward with these few shows in a spirit of friendship through music. You must remember where you came from in order to know where you are going."
