Avenged Sevenfold have announced that drummer Brooks Wackerman has joined the band. Hailing from Long Beach, Calif., Wackerman was the main drummer for Bad Religion for more than 15 years and also played with Tenacious D for the last 10 years. He has also played with blink-182, Mass Mental with Metallica's Robert Trujillo, funk metal supergroup Infectious Grooves, and Korn. Wackerman has known the members of Avenged Sevenfold since meeting them on the Warped Tour in 2004.

"Jimmy ['The Rev' Sullivan'] and I always had a mutual respect for each other's drumming styles," Wackerman says of A7X's original drummer who passed away in 2009. "He was always amazing and innovative, and it's an honor to play his parts live. I look forward to recording this new record with A7X, a band that I've always respected for their creativity and diversity in sound."

Avenged singer M. Shadows and Wackerman made the announcement on Chris Jericho's "Talk Is Jericho" podcast, which aired yesterday morning on PodcastOne. Listen HERE.

Avenged Sevenfold has achieved worldwide success with a string of best-selling albums achieving Diamond, Platinum and Gold awards for album sales in nearly a dozen countries. They have scored a series of Top 10 singles at multiple radio formats, with two consecutive albums, Nightmare, and Hail to the King, debuting at #1 on Billboard Top 200 in the U.S with a total worldwide sales of over 8 million albums. Hailing from Huntington Beach, CA, the band is known internationally for their spectacular live shows, routinely selling out arenas worldwide and headlining some of the world's biggest and most prestigious music festivals. Over the years, Avenged Sevenfold has built a fanatical fan base that includes over 17 million fans on Facebook. They also were part of an unprecedented collaboration with Activision to appear as characters in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 - the biggest-selling video game of all time, and wrote "Carry On" for the game. They also wrote "Not Ready to Die" for Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies DLC. Last year, the band debuted their own action adventure role-playing game, Hail to the King: Deathbat, which features classic Avenged Sevenfold tracks along with a new and original score. Most recently, the band collaborated with "Guitar Hero Live," offering three exclusive tracks that can be played within the game, which was released on October 20th.

Avenged Sevenfold have announced that they have parted ways with their drummer Arin Ilejay. The following statement has been given;

"We are writing this to inform you all that we will be moving forward without Arin Ilejay as our drummer. Arin has been nothing but a positive energy and monster drummer for us over the past four years. We love the guy and always will. We are and will always be grateful to him for helping us to move forward through some very dark times. Creatively though, we felt we needed to move in a different direction. While we can’t say more at this time, we are excited for the future and looking forward to sharing our plans soon with the greatest fans in the world. As always we appreciate your understanding and unwavering support."

Multi-platinum hard rock superstars Avenged Sevenfold are pleased to announce their action adventure role-playing game, Hail to the King: Deathbat, is available now on the App Store and Google Play.

"After over 2 years in development, we are proud to present you with Hail to the King: Deathbat," noted Avenged Sevenfold lead singer M. Shadows, a lifelong gamer who oversaw production and design. "The process of developing this game has been a new and challenging experience for us as we've worked hard to create a game that we are not only proud of but more importantly, a game that is fun to play. We think we've achieved that and hope you enjoy the game. "

As you battle through seven beautiful hellish landscapes inspired by the band's iconic discography and artwork, you'll interact with other characters to uncover more of the game's deep and engaging mythos. Hail to the King: Deathbat features classic Avenged Sevenfold tracks along with a new and original score, composed by the band in the immortal tradition of 8-bit masterpieces like Castlevania.

Hail to the King: Deathbat's epic story follows the Deathbat, the resurrected King of the Underworld, who must reclaim the lands of Haides from the despotic Dark Andronikos. The game is massive in the totality of its scope, with hours of robust gameplay. But it is not for the faint of heart - players will need to traverse sprawling environments, combat skillful undead, and best unforgiving bosses, combining brutal melee attacks with powerful projectile magic to survive.

Hail to the King: Deathbat is available now for $4.99 on the App Store and Google Play.

Machinima, the number one global video entertainment network for young males, has announced that the
Hail To The King animated series is now available for binge-viewing on Machinima's HappyHour channel.

From the creative minds of Avenged Sevenfold, one of rock music's global heavyweights and a trailblazing force in fusing the worlds of music and video games, Hail To The King is a six-episode animated series, which is directed by Metalocalypse producer Jon Schnepp. The unique and innovative series tells the fictional story of the Death Bat - the band's longtime trademark.

The series goes hand-in-hand with the band's upcoming mobile video game Hail to the King: Deathbat, due out in early 2014. As singer M Shadows says: "The animated series tells the story 'before' the game takes place. When the series ends, the game picks up." A trailer for the game has also been released today.

Check out the entire series HERE.

Avenged Sevenfold along with Machinima and Metalocalypse director Jon Schnepp, have released a trailer for the six episode Hail to the King animated series. The series will debut on December 15 and you can check out the trailer HERE.

Vocalist M. Shadows said in a statement, “The series also plays as a backstory to our mobile game Hail to the King: Deathbat. We felt this was the best way to tell the story and give you all an idea about the type of game we are creating.

He continued to say, “In the game, you can unlock 16 pieces of never-seen-before artwork from all of our albums. There will also be seven new Cam Rackam paintings available in the game. We also recorded seven new songs.” The game is expected to have a 2014 release.

Avenged Sevenfold today announced Warner Bros. Records would release Hail To The King, their sixth studio album, on August 27, 2013.  Produced by Mike Elizondo, Hail To The King is the follow up to the band's 2010 release, Nightmare, which debuted at Number One on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart, Hard Rock Chart and Digital Chart.  On August 26th, one day before the release of Hail To The King, Avenged Sevenfold will play a free show for their fans at the Hollywood Palladium. The show is a special thank you to their fans and for fans to celebrate the release of the new album with the band.  Stay tuned for entry details, which will be revealed in the coming weeks.

"Nightmare" broke radio records and was the most played current song at Rock Radio for all of 2010.  The New York Times called the band "Downright inevitable," while Guitar World hailed "Avenged Sevenfold are the undisputed kings of modern American badass rock and roll. A worthy successor to Aerosmith, Guns N' Roses and KISS."

Throughout 2010 and 2011 Avenged Sevenfold toured the world nonstop. They have achieved Diamond, Platinum and Gold awards for album sales in nearly a dozen countries and have sold out arenas the world over and headlined some of the worlds biggest and most prestigious music festivals playing to over one million people.  Due to an overwhelming demand from the United States troops abroad, Avenged Sevenfold embarked on a USO tour in the Middle East including stops in Kuwait and tour of Iraq performing for US soldiers stationed abroad.
