More More Discusses New Music and the Pandemic At Hand!

Rock n' roll punks MORE MORE have two EP's and their latest single "Blast this Song with the Windows Down", with even all new music in the works this summer! A couple of the band members got together to discuss their music and the current pandemic issue.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Dan: We started in LA when Dan (bass) and Thomas (guitar) met at work. We quickly realized we both had a love for fast-paced rock music and instead of actually doing our jobs, began to write songs together. Andy (drums) joined the band because he had more tattoos than both of us combined and could generally drown out our dumb jokes with his hard-hitting style.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

Thomas: Dan’s last name is Marmor and the first time I met him I thought it was “More More”. I kept thinking what the hell kind of last name is More More? So even after he corrected me, naturally I just kept calling him More More and the name stuck. Seemed like a natural fit for our band.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

Dan: We are based out of LA. The scene here has its benefits and drawbacks. There are tons of cool venues to play and a million great bands here. At the same time the city is really spread out with no real central hub. As a result  a lot of nights the crowds will be pretty hit or miss. Like anything else, some days are amazing, other times it feels like a grind. You could be rocking it having a blast one night and playing to 3 people the next.

4. How would you describe your style?

Thomas: Lot’s of fun! We have a blast on stage and the audience generally does as well. I think when you really enjoy what you are doing the people around you respond to that and the energy is pretty infectious. Musically I guess you could describe us as a good time rock and roll band. Definitely some punk influences as well.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

Dan: We have released two EP’s and our latest single “Blast this Song with the Windows Down”. I guess I would say you could expect to rock out! If you wanna cruise down the street with the volume up 500% I think we might be your band.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

Thomas: Yeah, we are heading to the studio mid august to record a new track with producer Dave Schiffman. He has worked with some of our favorite bands like the Red Hot Chili Peppers and PUP so we are super pumped about that.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

Dan: Unfortunately Corona Virus has pretty much ended the world in terms of performing at least out here in California. We are pretty much just taking advantage of the time and writing new material.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Thomas: Well, we’ve got a few new tracks in the works that we are super excited about, but we haven’t really decided if we are going to release them in EP's or do a full album. Right now we are mostly just focused on writing the best songs possible, so it’s really about just going through what we’ve done and narrowing down to the stuff we think will really resonate with people.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

Thomas: We are on Spotify and Apple Music, YouTube and all that jazz. We have some merch like vinyl records and T-shirts on our Bandcamp as well.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

Dan: We want listeners to remember to feel. Sometimes, a good song will feel like it gets you, that it relates to you on a level deeper than therapy. We want our audience to feel that the song empowers people, offers catharsis, and engages with emotions enough to make people feel connected and understood.

11. Tell us about the new video that was just released.

Thomas: Blast This Song With The Window Down was all shot on personal phones during quarantine. Since we couldn’t all get together for a big shoot, we decided that this would be the most fun way to get a huge group together to celebrate this song. Since it is about driving and singing out of the window, we asked our friends to do just that, and they did! It was such a fun experience and a really gratifying thing to edit. So much joy in the faces of these people, and I’m grateful to all of our friends for being a part of this thing. Stoked to have it out in the world now.
