Mossie Express Music and Further Plans Ahead

Indie rockers MOSSIE have a couple of single's out and about currently. A debut EP release is in the works as of now, with a few shows also in the works as well. Find out what more was expressed from the band about their upcoming plans and music.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

We are an Indie Rock Band based in Leeds with band members from different parts of Yorkshire, bit of a Yorkshire Mixture! Basist Brad Jennings is from Cleckheaton, Drummer Ciaran Harper from Leeds, Back Vocals and Lead Guitar Adam Monroe is from Bradford and Lead Vocals and Rhythm Guitar Adam Lavant is from Barnsley. The band assembled fully in August 2019 and play a sell out show at Leeds’ Lending Rooms after just 5 months.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

The band ‘Mossie’ pronounced with S’s originates from a World War 2 bomber plane - De Haveland Mosquito.

3. How would you describe your style?

We are energetic, bass vibe run though our music and we try to write music around a cool bass riff. We would class our music as Indie Rock with old school vibe running through it, obvious influences from Indie Rock music from the 80’s and 90’s.

4. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We have 2 singles available on Spotify. Our first ‘No Soul’ was released in October 2019 after just a couple of months as a band together and our Second, released as a demo track in January is called ‘Just Another Girl’. Maybe you should go have a listen and see what you find. . . 😉

5. Do you have any new music in the works?

Yes we are currently writing out debut EP which will be released summer 2020. We record with music legend Will Jackson, former producer of the Kaiser Cheifs, Pigeon Detectives, Cribs and Embarace, among others. So we’re confident we have the best guys on board and looking forward to getting our new music out there.

6. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We currently have a couple of opportunities in the pipeline, we are scheduled to play some shows in collaboration with ‘This Feeling’ which are endorsed by Noel Gallagher and Kasabian. We have festivals on the cards also, and we are always aiming high. For all our gig dates visit our Facebook Page or our Website www.MossieOffical.com.

7. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

We aim to get our music out there, keep writing and keep being creative. We are very busy at the moment and we have our eyes on a couple of top festivals next year. Isle of Wight fest, Leeds and reading Fest, Y Not fest. . . Who knows we will see!

8. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

We are on all major music platforms, bob us into google and we should come up, our tracks are on Spotify and you can hear previews on Facebook and Social Media.

9. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

Remember to try not to get high, on the music of course! 😉
