WARBRINGER built a reputation for themselves. The Southern California thrash metal band were part of every major tour around the globe for five years straight. In that time it was miraculous that they found time to record four albums of unrelenting aggression. And then it all came to a screeching halt.

"I really thought that the Empires Collapse record cycle ended prematurely due to the departure of (guitarist) John Laux and (drummer) Carlos Cruz. I figured it would be the end of the band, and the end of my life's work, as I'd really put everything I had into this band" explains singer John Kevill.

"I remember on the last show we played on that US tour (guitarist) Adam Carroll came to me and told me how we had to keep the torch held high and to realize the full potential of the band no matter what. We carried on the following European tour with fill-in members, as we really hate to cancel a gig and let down our fans, but it really seemed like the end for us. Fortunately, though it took a long time, we have been able to find musicians in our area to help carry on the torch of the destructive, intense music this band stands for. So welcome Vicken Hovsepian on drums, Noah Young on guitar, and Alex Malmquist on bass. Our mission since we started rehearsing together was to be the tightest incarnation of the band yet, and to raise the bar and move forward, never back. So far progress has been great and I can't wait to get out there and unleash this new weapon upon the world."

After months of intense rehearsal the five-piece is ready to show the world the new WARBRINGER. The campaign starts with an Asian Assault because there's nothing better than flying halfway across the world and debuting your new lineup in front of a huge crowd at the Hammersonic Festival in Jakarta, Indonesia alongside established heavyweights like Lamb of God, Mayhem, Vader, Unearth, and The Faceless among others. This show will be followed by additional headlining dates in the region, an area WARBRINGER have attacked feverishly before.

"We are extremely pumped to return to Asia. It will be our third time over there and we're ready to get back into action and bust some skulls!  We've played Indonesia and Taiwan before but this run will include our first visit to China so we're excited for that" states Kevill.

WARBRINGER are already putting together plans for US shows throughout the summer in between writing sessions for a next album. The first of these short runs will begin with a pair of shows at the San Diego and Anaheim House of Blues with Meshuggah.  Then headliners at the World Famous Whisky A-Go-Go in Hollywood, Thee Parkside in San Francisco and The Spring Meltdown Festival in Reno, NV.

"We're looking forward to playing our hometown again after well over a year. We're going to play some songs we have never played live before and seriously bring down the hammer. See you guys there, c'mon and let's wreck the place!"

Pony fans, rejoice! An all-new season of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, the beloved series created by Hasbro Studios, debuts on Discovery Family April 4, with two back-to-back premiere episodes at 11:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Packed with new adventures, characters and self-discovery, Season 5 kicks off with a very special one-hour premiere, as our favorite ponies continue to explore the true magic of friendship only possible in Equestria.

"Season 5 will really delve more into how the magic of cutie marks and friendship can impact those around you," teases Hasbro Studios Executive Director, Brian Lenard. "You're going to see a lot of new and exciting characters this season, and first and foremost is Starlight Glimmer."

In the Season 5 premiere of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, the Mane 6: Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rarity and Applejack meet Starlight Glimmer when they are summoned to solve a friendship problem only to find a utopian village in which everyone has given up their Cutie Marks. At first look, the ponies in this village appear happy, but it soon becomes clear that Starlight Glimmer has a vastly different and rather sinister view on friendship and the individual talents that make Equestria's ponies so special. The season is full of Cutie Mark Magic!

This cliff-hanger episode heralds a season filled with surprises and special treats for viewers, including the appearance of celebrity guest voice Tony Award-winner Lena Hall, the series' exciting 100th episode, fun holiday specials and several new, original songs soon to be fan-favorites. In this season, viewers will be introduced to new characters and see background characters brought to the forefront for the first time, all as part of a journey that embraces such themes as individuality, coming of age, facing fears and achieving your dreams.

Metalcore enthusiasts' Sworn In, formed in 2011, got things rolling for themselves, having gotten signed with record label, Razor & Tie, as well as releasing their debut full-length "The Death Card" (2013). Would lead them to going on tours, playing shows left and right, while working on a follow-up album entitled "The Lovers/The Devil". Frontman vocalist Tyler Dennen discusses that release, some brief insight into the band, and their plans for their extensive amount of touring.


1. First of all, who are you, and what do you do in the band?

Tyler: My name's Tyler and I am the vocalist of the band.

2. Can you tell me as to how the band got the name Sworn In?

Tyler: Hmm not a whole lot of meaning, our first bass player came up with it. We just rolled with it.

3. You released two songs off your new album "Sunshine" and "I Don't Really Love You" will those be made into videos or will other songs be picked?

Tyler: To be honest, it wasn't hugely our decision, our management and label had a big say in what came out when, so we thought "Sunshine" was a good bridge gaper between our first CD and this new CD with the style of sound, we're going for is more aggressive. The second song "I Don't Really Love You" shows a more extremeness of sound of how we got. Kind of easing people into a big progression. One of the will be a video and the other song has not been released yet.

4. What would you say are the bands biggest collective musical influences, and also individual ones that you feel can be heard in the record?

Tyler: I think a big influence would be hmmm. That's a real hard question to answer, because A. I don't write the music, I write the lyrics. Seeing from a song writers perspective would be bands like Meshuggah, Deftones, Slipknot, stuff like that.

5. Can you tell us how this album differs from your previous one? What can we expect and what is the message behind it?

Tyler: It's different in the way of being more progressive and less abrasive sound. The message is that it's still a conceptual record like our previous one. It's a two part record, first half being "The Lovers" the second half being "The Devil". The story, it develops into this dysfunctional relationship with these two lead characters a male and female, the male character in the beginning of the story is this obsessive, romantic, depressed, paranoid, jealous kind of character, and the female is the cold, unresponsive, character with the big walls up. Where the guy looses it, and in halfway through the CD, the roles are reversed, where he becomes the Devil and she becomes the Lover. It's kind of a cautionary tale I suppose.

6. Did you get the album that you wanted or was there more to it that you wanted to do?

Tyler: We got the album that we wanted 100%!

7. Do you think there is an element of the band’s sound that you would like to push out further on the next batch of songs?

Tyler: We haven't gotten that far yet. So far just waiting to release this record, kind of waiting to see what people think of it. If the people are digging the sound, then perhaps we'll progress further into the mainstream. Maybe we'll go into a different direction just waiting it out right now.

8. You will be doing an extensive amount of touring for the next couple of months. So what will the setlist look like, will there be more of the new stuff or the old stuff or a combination of both?

Tyler: Every tour will have a different set list with these upcoming tours, with these tours it will probably be our older material with a mix of the new stuff. When the record is released we'll probably throw more of those into the mix after people have heard the stuff.

9. What do you have planned for after these tours wrap up?

Tyler: I'm sure we'll keep touring. Nothing set in stone as of now.

10. How about 2015, what does Sworn In, have in-store?

Tyler: Pretty much it's all laid out online, we'll be touring in the U.S., Canada, Europe, then be heading over to Australia for the first time perhaps. Just  a lot of touring in the works!

Alesana will be releasing their fifth full-length album "Confessions" April 21st via Revival Recordings. This will be the conclusion of The Annabel Trilogy. The previous entries being previous full-length albums in the trilogy "The Emptiness" and "A Place Where The Sun Is Silent". The band says that this fifth and conclusion to this trilogy will be traveling through time? Perhaps so! Legendary death metal unit, SIX FEET UNDER, will release their eleventh studio recording this spring via Metal Blade Records. Titled "Crypt Of The Devil", the ten track slab of audio violence was composed by vocalist Chris Barnes and Cannabis Corpse bassist/vocalist Phil "Landphil" Hall. While on tour with Cannabis Corpse in 2013, Barnes and Hall met and kept in touch. Barnes would later lend his vocals to a track on Cannabis Corpse's "From Wisdom To Baked". That same year, Hall and Barnes joined forces to pen brand new SIX FEET UNDER tracks. Barnes lauds Hall's take on the SIX FEET UNDER style of death metal and stated that this material was, "where my wheelhouse is - it's where I thrive vocally and lyrically."

With "Crypt Of The Devil", Barnes has worked to continue the overall story from the previous works, wherein he is penning lyrics from the perspective of a serial killer. Or as Barnes describes, it's a "winding journey through his mind. The songs paint a picture that's not necessarily linear, rather a meandering back and forth through a dark soul." Soon-to-be-classic cuts such as "Open Coffin Orgy" serve as exemplary examples of the fruits of Barnes' macabre muse.

Recording for the album took place at Hall's studio in Virginia. Hall tracked rhythm and bass guitar, while his brother, Josh Hall, tracked drums, and guitarist Brandon Ellis tracked the majority of the album's leads. Barnes took to London Bridge Studio (Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains etc.) in his new base of operations in Seattle, Washington to record vocals and in fact holed himself up in the very same booth where Layne Staley tracked his words. The mix was completed by Rob Caldwell (Cannabis Corpse, Iron Reagan etc.) in Sarasota, Florida and mastering was done by Alan Douches (Cannibal Corpse, Revocation, Torche, Skeletonwitch etc.) at West West Side in New Windsor, New York. "Crypt Of The Devil" stands as a truly collaborative and cross-country effort from a selection of today's finest metal minds, and the result is a refreshing SIX FEET UNDER experience. Or as refreshing as brutal, visceral death metal can be, anyway.

Historically, Pittsburgh-based punk stalwarts Anti-Flag have always had important, socially conscious messages to convey and musical statements they've been driven to make. That ethos remains intact with their new album, American Spring, which is their Spinefarm Records debut and is due out on May 26.

The band has shared the front and back album artwork and it will certainly spark conversations among the youth and perhaps inspire change, in the spirit in which punk rock was initially founded.

There are plenty of ways the viewer can interpret the vivid artwork, as the front cover features a woman wearing a black hajib veil, while the back cover features an American soldier in combat fatigues. Both of their faces are obscured by an exploding pink flower.

"The songs of American Spring are an aggressive critique of the global social and political climate of 2015," Anti-Flag explained. "The artwork is no different. The cover art is meant to challenge our collective view of violence and peace. The entire American Spring package includes essays, personal liner notes, and further information behind the driving forces of each song, detailing ways for us all to take action against injustice in the world. The American Spring is now."

Modern metalcore new comers, Feed Her to the Sharks have got new tunes underway with the release of their new album "Fortitude". The follow-up to 2013's "Savage Seas", since that release they have gone on to getting signed to Victory Records with so much more in-store especially touring! Frontman vocalist/piano/keys Andrew Vanderzalm discusses this debut release for their new label home and them wanting to tour all over!


1. How did your band form?

Andrew: After playing in a different band, Chewy and Andy got together and started writing some songs in a different direction. From there, the guys found some like minded people and thus began Feed Her To The Sharks.

2. Tell us the brief history of your band.

Andrew: As I said before, in the beginning, it was just Andy and Chewy writing some songs. After the first album was released (The Beauty of Falling) and a few tours later, the band went through a few lineup changes but for the past two and a half years the lineup has been stable but working hard.

3. What's the story behind your band's name Feed Her To The Sharks? Does the name actually have to deal with actual sharks and who is "her" refer too?

Andrew: The name actually came from the first song ever written by FHTTS. It was the opening lyrics to the song Misery which we still play live. Nothing to do with actual sharks, and “her” can refer to anything/anybody. Everyone has wanted to feed someone to some sharks at one point in their life!

4. How do you describe your sound to people who ask you what your band sounds like?

Andrew: We mix a few different styles to create FHTTS songs. The sound is first and foremost heavy, mixed with catchy, melodic grooves. A bit of electronic samples and some shredding guitars. Aggressive and musical - That’s pretty much what we are about!

5. Who are your influences and heroes (music-wise)?

Andrew: Heavy bands like Killswitch Engage, Machine Head, Bring Me The Horizon have definitely influenced us. Also bands like Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park are ones we look up to. Them and Lady Gaga, she’s awesome!

6. What are your songs about? (What specific themes do they cover?)

Andrew: A lot of the songs on Fortitude especially have a very positive theme behind them. Many are about overcoming the struggles you face in everyday life. We try to write lyrics that are very relatable to everyday people. After all, that’s who’s listening to our songs!

7. Do you write your own songs? (Discuss the songwriting process in detail.)

Andrew: Yes, we write all our own songs. When we write, we try to do it as a group. We all get together in a room and throw ideas around. Hardly any writing gets done without other people there. Sometimes, someone will come to a writing session with a riff or two, but everything else gets worked out while we are all there. It does take longer sometimes, but it also ensures we got the best and biggest range of ideas down that we can and everyone has input on the songs.

8. When did Victory Records come into the picture? Are you happy with what they have to offer?

Andrew: We first got in contact with Victory Records in late 2013. After a while of back and forth we signed with them in early 2014. Since then they have been really good to us. Definitely was the right move for us joining with these guys and they are really going to help with the future of the band!

 9. How does "Fortitude" vary from past work?

Andrew: It was the first time that all five members came together as one to write a record. So having different members writing the music definitely influenced the record. Although we wanted to keep the FHTTS sound, we mixed it up a lot with song structure, production and instrumentation compared to the previous albums.

10. Has anything happened since your previous works, that you feel will influence the mood or lyrical content, on this release?

Andrew: As the first two records were released independently we worked hard trying to push the record on our own. Now with label backing we feel we are writing for a greater audience which did, in a way, influence how and what we wrote.

11. Did the band have any definitive goals they were shooting for before the recording process began for this album?

Andrew: We really just want to tour. It’s always been our goal in this band. To play our music all over the world to many different people is really the goal of the band. So we wanted to write an album that would translate well on many different stages!

12. Are you using any new instrumentation you've never used in the recording process before?

Andrew: Not so much in regards to instruments. We still have 2 Guitars, Bass and Drums, but we did delve into different synth sounds. Lots of your typical piano and strings etc, but also moving onto modulated gates, and sweeping EQ’s through the synth for different effects.

13. Can you discuss why you choose "The World Is Yours" was a single? Will there be a video accompanying it?

Andrew: We choose that song because it really gives the listener a good idea about what the whole album is about. It’s heavy, it’s melodic, it has fast riffy sections and slower, bigger chord bits so it’s really a good song for people to hear first. No film clip for this song, but clips for others!

14. What are the expectations for this album?

Andrew: Hard to say. We just want people to hear it. If someone picks up a copy and likes it, that’s good enough for us!

15. What are your upcoming plans for this year?

Andrew: Tour, Tour, Tour!

16. Anything you'd like to add/say….

Andrew: Hope everyone enjoys the new record! We had a blast writing it!
