Lamb Of God Celebrates Its 20th Ashes Of the Wake Album Anniversary with Sold Out Performance!
Lamb Of God had announced that they would be doing a co-headlining tour alongside Mastodon this summer. But had brought it up for the past 9-10 years discussing it to happen, well now it has happened and it has been a tour many will not forget…. Taking place during the middle of the week on Wednesday August 21st at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California in Los Angeles County, is when this sold out tour, would take place, having openers Malevolence and Kerry King bring forth their beginning’s with getting the crowd amp-ed up!
Malevolence started things off, after doors opened at 5PM, with them playing around 6PM for 30 minutes straight, the band got the crowd excited, everyone being into their performance. Their angst of energy was more hardcore meets heavy metal, delivering an in-between feeling, that was hard but heavy at times, even having some mellow moments that made it worth wild of seeing these guys play at least.
MALEVOLENCE:
Kerry King would be up next and everyone there knew of who he was, which was the guitarist of thrashers Slayer, who retired in 2019, but have made a minor comeback, and Kerry King has gone solo with this band, going on to release his debut album, touring on this trek, and tonight everyone was in awe of his craftiness. Playing a lot of tracks off the debut album, and a bonus track of Slayer’s material; Kerry King was what a lot of people are calling this act to be a Slayer 2.0. The music sounds just like if Slayer would have released it, and adding that cover track of his past creations as well, everyone in the venue got all hyped up when hearing “Raining Blood” played yet again. Truly Kerry King brought the heat, everyone was into his new act, and phrased him for it like no tomorrow!
KERRY KING:
Mastodon were to follow, and these guys were to celebrate the release of their sophomore album “Leviathan”, it being out for the past 20 years! The band decided to play the album in full swing, getting the audience into it, but many did depart during the band’s set. The material was played well, with provided effects like lighting, lasers, and instrumentals that made the music work out, but not too many were into it. Many there were enjoying it for what it was worth it, but a lot were parting ways, saying ado to these guys.
MASTODON:
Now having been co-headliners to Lamb Of God, Mastodon had done their thing. It was time for LOG to do it better, with their album celebration of “Ashes Of the Wake”, it also being around for the past twenty years. They too played this album from front to back with some addition tracks thrown in, making their set-up being quite hefty. They played for a good solid hour straight, playing a lot of fan favorites like “Laid to Rest”, “Now You’ve Got Something To Die For”, “Ashes of the Wake”, and others like “Walk With Me In Hell” and “Redneck”. The crowd were there for these guys, and they delivered, having fire, lights, and strobe affects, with screen antics that made their performance captivating yet entertaining through and through. Lots of energy given out, with musical direction that kept the crowd on their toes with each note played and lyric sung.
LAMB OF GOD:
All in all this “Ashes of Leviathan Tour” with Lamb of God and Mastodon was done right, some acts better than others, with headliners being burnt out but in a good way, making them the lamb chops, of the bunch.

Kerry King To Hit The Road with Lamb of God + Summer Festivals

On the heels of yesterday’s announcement of his upcoming solo project, today it is announced that Kerry King will be Special Guest on the upcoming Lamb of God/Mastodon North American “Ashes of Leviathan” co-headlne tour. The six-week run launches on July 19 in Grand Prairie, TX, and will wrap on August 31 in Omaha, NE. The general ticket on-sale begins this Friday, Feb. 9 at http://www.kerrykingofficial.com/ King will make his 2024 concert debut in May, first at the Welcome To Rockville Festival (May 9), followed by Sonic Temple Arts & Music Festival (May 16).
For all of these dates, King will be joined by the musicians who played on his upcoming debut solo album, From Hell I Rise: drummer Paul Bostaph (Slayer), bassist Kyle Sanders (Hellyeah), Phil Demmel on guitar (formerly Machine Head), and vocalist Mark Osegueda (Death Angel). From Hell I Rise is due out May 17 (Reigning Phoenix Music).

MASTODON ANNOUNCES NEW TOUR
Mastodon have extended their U.S. headline tour starting on September 26 in Orlando, FL at Hard Rock Live with continued support from Eagles of Death Metal and Russian Circles. The tour also includes stops at several festivals, including the High Elevation Fest in Denver, CO and Louder Than Life Festival in Louisville, KY. MASTODON ANNOUNCE NEW HEADLINING TOUR
MASTODON have confirmed a spring U.S. headline tour which will kick off on April 14th in Missoula, MT, with support from Eagles of Death Metal and Russian Circles.

MASTODON And CLUTCH Join Forces To Pummel Through The Missing Link Tour
Two of the world's most respected and influential hard rock bands, Mastodon (pictured above) and Clutch, announce The Missing Link Tour, which brings together both bands as they join forces along with special guests Graveyard and Big Business - each taking part of the tour as support. Together, this night of heavy rock will be one of the heaviest and most exciting concert events of the year.
The Missing Link Tour kicks off on April 16th in St. Paul, MN. with support provided by Big Business, who recently supported Mastodon throughout a sold-out European tour. Sweden's Graveyard will then take over the main support slot starting in Los Angeles on April 29th for the remaining dates, closing out the tour in Columbus, OH on May 24th.
The Missing Link Tour will feature full sets from both Mastodon and Clutch. Clutch will close the show on April 24th in Vancouver, May 10th in Pittsburgh, May 15th in Bethlehem, May 16th in Baltimore and also the final night of the tour, May 24th in Columbus. Mastodon will close all other shows.

Mastodon - Live At Brixton
Mastodon now their an act you can either love or hate. While the band has been around for quite sometime touring about and releasing albums, EPs, singles, and videos, they have run their course of action. Thus they continue to develop their skill set as they grow which has lead them to release a digital CD/DVD release with 24-tracks of solid good Mastodon material. This being all recorded and shot at the Brixton Academy where other musicians have performed over the years. Now Mastodon is up for it and in return they have released a combination that is quite pleasing for everyone. Mastodon's "Live At Brixton" release covers a wide range of tunes these guys have released over the years, some include songs like "Black Tongue", "Sleeping Giant", "Crack The Skye", and "Blood and Thunder". Each of these songs along with the rest is put into full on effect here, the instrumentals working spot on making the material really jump at you as if you were there yourself. The energy from the crowd witnessing and band playing really goes hand in hand each end not letting up one bit. They both take turns if not come together having everyone there being entertained throughout the entire performance structure. Mastodon's "Live At Brixton" digital CD/DVD is a real live exposure and experience to what these guys know how to do. They have always had it in them it just needed more pushing than where it was from, taking their skills further pushing the limits in this live performance set.
Mastodon Announce Live at Brixton
On February 11th, 2012, MASTODON took the stage at London's O2 Academy in Brixton, capping off the Atlanta-based band's world tour in support of their critically acclaimed album The Hunter. This sold-out performance was Mastodon's first show at the legendary Brixton venue. It won't be their last, as the London audience positively erupted from the opening chords until the final, frenzied encore. Mastodon Live At Brixton will be released on December 10th, so fans will be able to see and hear what happened on that night.
In addition to performing "Curl of the Burl," "Black Tongue," and "Dry Bone Valley" from The Hunter, the band dug into their catalog, unearthing such scorching tracks as "Colony of Birchmen," "Capillarian Crest," and "Iron Tusk." Rolling Stone Magazine referred to the band's sonic attack as one that: "Demonstrates how contemporary hard rock can still be made with imagination, precision and a majestic sense of force."
Now this extraordinary live show is being released digitally by Warner Bros. Records as Mastodon Live At Brixton, on December 10th. An audio-only version and a live video version directed by Ryan Mackfall (Crashburn Media) (both featuring the full 97-minute performance) will be available from all digital retailers, including iTunes and Amazon. MASTODON: 'Dry Bone Valley' Video Explained and Released
"Doing video for 'Dry Bone Valley' was a dream project," says Biskup, who also designed a hoodie for MASTODON in the past. "The band's aesthetic has always been interesting and inspiring to me and I think what I do aligns with their music. When I pitched my idea, it was very vague — like a stream-of-consciousness poem — more than a traditional treatment. They were on board from the start and willing to trust me and let me experiment. It let me follow the same kind of path that I go down when I work on improvised paintings and sculptures. I love working on film, but finding people who trust me enough to just let me do my thing is tricky, so I'm thrilled to venture back in with this project."
"Tim is an old friend of ours and one of my favorite artists," says MASTODON's Brann Dailor about working with Biskup. "The opportunity to work with him was unique and very special for us."
The "Dry Bone Valley" video is "basically about waking up to find yourself being chased by death and having to reckon with dying and what that actually means to you," Biskup explains. "It's a life/death metaphor where the girl in the video goes from hunted to hunter. There's a whole lot more going on metaphorically, and the symbolism goes very deep and is very specific, but I'll leave the rest up to interpretation."
