The Archimedian Point Says Much on Music, Shows, and More!

 

Progressive punks THE ARCHIMEDIAN POINT have been playing together for the past ten years, releasing one album and a few EP's, with all new music on the way! Some shows are also set for this year, with more music to follow through. See what else the band says about this below.

 

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

The core of the group is the duo of Daren Hudson and Jeremy Shelton. We have been playing together for a little over ten years.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

The name comes from Greek philosopher Archimedes who famously said "give me a point on which to stand, and a long enough lever, and I will move the earth" 

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We are based in Springfield, Mo. we have a pretty vibrant and talented scene! Bands we recommend would be Maximum Weekend, Shapeater, The Many Colored Death (from Columbia, Mo),and Paralandra.

4. How would you describe your style?

We prefer to call ourselves progressive punk.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We have released one full length and four EPs.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

We are finishing up our new EP entitled "phobia".

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out? 

We are booking selectively this fall. Hit us up on our website for booking!

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band? 

We will continue to express ourselves with our rock tunes until we die.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
We want our music to inspire independent thought, and to melt faces.
