Rock band THEBIND has a new single out and about, along with writing all new material, with some shows expected within their hometown if not possibly going elsewhere soon. The band discusses their music and future plans in the works below.
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Formed after the dissolution of a high school band. The Bind was the core of a 5 piece bar band. A group of music and theatre troublemakers, we decided to write and have fun with it all.
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
The Bind comes from randomly opening a book and pointing at a word. It just so happened to actually work out.
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
The Bind plays from Taunton, Massachusetts. Lately our music scene is very focused on working cover and tribute bands. There is almost no attention paid to original music in this area. I can name maybe 2 venues that cater to original bands. As a parallel, there is a jam band scene about an hour away. Which we are on the fringes of. Locally I’ll say On Your Death Bed, Bloodline Theory, Quinn Sullivan.
4. How would you describe your style?
Our style is familiar while being new. Rock oriented and high energy, uplifting music is our focus. We can get moody, but we want you to move and dance! Fusing some classic trio power, funky Hendrix grooves with the adventurous 90’s eclecticism.
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
A single titled Swells! The Binds first real release has come with SODEH records, in the past we have put out independently produced releases. These would be rare as hens teeth now! Prior to joining SODEH, the Bind officially released Apples & Oranges (6 song ep) on their own volition
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
We are constantly writing, unless we get sidetracked with a big show. We just spent 2 months polishing a Christmas show as our main focus! Now back into the studio!
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
We are currently trying to stake our claim in our hometown! Perhaps we can reopen the door to original entertainment for reasonable prices! We do get up into Boston or New Bedford once a month or so. We are all family men so there is some focus on a holiday break.
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
To constantly try to improve our music and performance for ya'll! Get this show out to the masses

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
That music has meaning and purpose. We want you to have a true connection with our music because it is truth. And that were -The Bind.
