Up and coming artist AVENUEN9NE A.K.A. Derrick Williams began music at a young age, since then he has released some content including a handful of single's, with all new content expected this spring time! His plans is to change what pop music looks like, and of course playing shows when the time comes. See what was discussed all below.
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
AvenueN9ne is the artist name for me, Derrick Williams. I'm from Philadelphia, PA. I started my journey with music at a very young age. Was always attracted to different sounds and different types of music, and started releasing music to the world in October of 2020 with the release of “Wanna Leave” (https://open.spotify.com/album/2GoiOXmDijQHR7TOXGJc33).
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
The birth of AvenueN9ne came from the lost of my grandmother. She gave me my first guitar when I was nine years old and after she passed it just seemed fitting for it to be my artist name.
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
AvenueN9ne is based out of Philadelphia, PA. The music scene is amazing. So many different vibes and perspectives. There is a lot of amazing talent is Philly. One artist I would recommend would be Piff Marti. His vibe is unmatched as well as his clever lines and word play.
4. How would you describe your style?
I would describe my style as chill pop. Music that can be heard when you wanna vibe with your friends or alone.
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

No matter where that takes me.
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
Yes I do, and I am very excited for the world to hear them! In fact, my next release is called “Love Me” and it will be on all platforms April 8th 2022!
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
I currently do not have anything planned out, but that will change soon
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
My plans for the future is simple, to change what pop music looks like.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
I would like a listener to remember most is, its okay to sit in yourself. In your truth, in your pain, in your embarrassment. Not everything that is sad or somber needs to sound like it. Sometimes you gotta fake it, till you make it.
