InSammer Discusses New Works, Single and a Video!

Alternative rockers INSAMMER have their brand new album out and about now! New material of a single translated is also in the works. So much more is set for this band and they discuss those matters below.

1. Please tell us about the history of InSammer band and its members.

InSammer: Back in time our vocalist Vika was looking for a guitar teacher and found Dennis. They decided to create music together because they had many common musical tastes. The very first line up recorded InSammer first album “Numbers as Victims”. Then different musicians entered and left the band, until our second album Seeds when Oleg Izotov came to the studio to record some guitars and played a few gigs as a session guitar player. The band members liked his personality and he is still a part of the band. Then a super bass player Nikita and an awesome drummer Alex joined the band.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

InSammer: The name InSammer was inspired by the novel of Robert Heinlein “The Door Into Summer”. We were charmed by the story beyond the creation of the novel. Robert and his family faced the snowfall in Colorado and their cat wanted to get out of the house. When Robert opened a door for him, the cat wouldn't leave and kept on crying. So Robert decided that the cat was looking for a door into summer. The novel was written in 13 days. We believe that we all need the new reality to enter, the door into the world full of creativity and positive vibes.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

InSammer: We are from Sweden and it’s already well known that Swedish rock scene is stronger than ever. You can listen to any band from Stockholm or Gothenburg and they will be a blast for sure. Sabaton or Arch Enemy, Clawfinger or Amon Amarth – any band is a huge player on the music scene. You definitely need to check Swedish rock bands.

4. How would you describe your style?

InSammer: Alternative rock with a great female vocals, awesome guitars, mega bass, violent drums and super positive vibes!

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

InSammer: Recently we released our new album called ‘Black Art’, 11 tracks of total guitar and drums madness, filled with moments of relentless energy throwing back to their punk and rock roots to visionary moments of modern alternative. Our third album ‘Black Art’ is powerful and strong statement of the modern world. We spent almost a year in the studio during pandemic period, we wrote over 40 songs and had to choose from them. We took 11 tracks of pure rock vibrations with excellent lyrics to rock the house. For the first time in our career, we truly put it all out there. The album's lead single, "Black Art", is about dark times in internet and hard situation on politic stage. We are all in the process of transformation.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

InSammer: Our fans from Latin America gave us the idea that our track Seeds from the second album can be easily translated into Spanish. Our friend, great vocalist and guitarist Yasmani Silva made very cool lyrics in Spanish and we are working hard on recording this track. La Semilla (Seeds) will be ready in 2022.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

InSammer: Covid-19 situation is pretty bad worldwide, many gigs and festivals are cancelled and postponed.  The summer time is near but we have no ideas regarding the live shows. We’ll see.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

InSammer: We have a new video in post-production. It’s a track from the new album – Vikings. It will be a huge epic story of war and fate in a historic atmosphere, directed by Can Katipzade, a well-known Turkish director.

9. Where can we listen to your band?

InSammer: All our albums and singles can be found at all major platforms – Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, Pandora, etc.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

InSammer: Well, if you listen to InSammer for the first time then have a second try and become our fans. Rock on!
