BABYBEARD GOES FULL METAL KAWAII WITH LADYBEARD, KOTOMI, AND SUZU!

BABYBEARD is the newest creation to come from Ladybeard who has had his share of career antics. Most notably music, being in various groups already, but BABYBEARD is what's in the here and now, and bringing on two other members to the mix KOTOMI and SUZU, this trio says much about how they met, the music that was made and brought back some familiar aspects, down to just being so KAWAII-METAL IT IS DOWNRIGHT WORLD DOMINATING TO IMAGINE!

LADYBEARD Says.....:

1. Introduce yourself, tell me how did Ladybeard come to be as a musician?

LB: My name is Ladybeard. I’m a cross-dressing pro-wrestler, heavy metal singer and kawaii idol from Australia, now based in Japan.

2. Where did the idea of cross-dressing come into play and did it infuse with the music or you being a pro-wrestler?

LB: I started cross-dressing when I was 14 years old. A friend held a school uniform party for her birthday, and I thought it might be funny to wear my big sister’s school dress to the party. I did, and was a hit amongst the other 14 year old's. I then became a casual cross-dresser for many years, then finally when I started wrestling and when I  was organizing my first match, I told the company owner that I would wear a pink and black lolita dress in the ring and be called Ladybeard.

3. Now Ladybeard is living in Japan but you're an Australian as well, so were you born down under then came out to Japan or what's the story?

LB: That’s right, I was born in Australia and grew up there, then moved to Hong Kong where I was an actor, voice actor and stuntman, and that’s where I started my Ladybeard career. I then moved to Japan in 2013.

4. You have not only been involved with Ladybaby but Deadlift Lolita as well, are those projects still active or deactivated?

LB: Ladybaby no longer exists. Deadlift Lolita still exists, but Reika (my band-mate in that group) and I are focusing on different things respectively at this moment.

5. Does this all new project have a name to it, it does return to the formula that was Ladybaby's era, having the music made by the same team, so do tell?

LB: That’s right! The songwriters who made Nippon Manju, my first single with my old group, made the first 2 songs for Babybeard! This is very exciting as they are musical geniuses and I have wanted to work with them again ever since Nippon Manju. Expect some VERY catchy tunes from BABYBEARD!

6. How many songs have you written and recorded thus far, you plan to release some at the end of April of this year, please do discuss these songs for us?

LB: We’re releasing our first single “Nippon Kara Konichiwa”, along with  “PIENNIZER” at the end of April! The songs both start streaming on April 28! Everybody.... GET AMONG IT!!! These tracks are gonna make you dance and scream!!!

7. With the variety of projects prior Ladybaby, Deadlift Lolita, and now BabyBeard, would we ever see the trio of acts perform a show or perhaps tour together?

LB: Well, never say never I guess, but no plans for anything like that right now.

8. Being a pro-wrestler will that be incorporated into BabyBeard as far as performances or songs?

LB: Well, we’ll have to wait and see. Just about every time I get onstage to sing, some other wrestler takes issue with me and decides to invade the show and try to beat me up. I always need to dispose of the unexpected interruption, and then finish the show.

I suspect it’s highly likely that wrestlers will continue this trend in the future....

9. Out of the trio of members who would win in a wrestling match?

LB: Kotomi. She’s a KILLER! YOU CAN SEE IT IN HER EYES!!!👀

10. What are your goals for the future as a band?

LB: What would they be other than WORLD DOMINATION!!

11. How about the plans for the rest of 2021?

LB: We’re desperate to get onstage, and tour. Being physically together with the fans is the part of this job that’s really, really enjoyable and rewarding. That said, we’re working as hard as we can in these early days of the project to bring Babybeard to as many people as possible around the world through the miracle of the internet. Physical distance is no longer a barrier to access!!

KOTOMI + SUZU Says....:

13. So how did KOTOMI and SUZU meet one another then the two come to meet Ladybeard?

The girls met each other for the first time in the first team meeting after the audition.

K: When I met SUZU I was so nervous that I talked to her in a super formal manner. Now we are best friends so it’s not the case anymore!😊  When I met Ladybeard at the audition I was so excited that I could see the person I had seen many times on TV, but also I was so nervous because of the audition.

S: When we met each other, I was so excited by the fact that now we’ll work together as a team despite the fact that everyone has a totally different background. When I met Bea-chan (Ladybeard), I was impressed the amount of energy he had and instantly I became a huge fan of him!

14. What about KOTOMI and SUZU how did they come into the music scene and become pop idols, were you individual artists or formed together as a duo?

K: I was a huge fan of idols originally, but as I saw them performing, I have come to think that I want to perform onstage and make someone happy. I was in another idol group before BABYBEARD, but it unfortunately came to an end.

S: I like idols, but I was interested in acting and I was in another management agency to study acting skills. Then I found out about the audition and I thought I could give it a try, and now I’m here!

15. How will KOTOMI and SUZU bring originality to this group that is Babybeard?

K: Well, Ladybeard said I’m good at dancing, so I think I’m in charge of dance performance! I’ll practice a lot!

S: My role is to be free! I like seeing people delighted by my comments!

16. What makes Babybeard different to all the other pop metal groups in existence out there?

K: We have the strongest and cutest Bea-chan!!

S: I think our structure is unique. Goddes Bea-chan and us babies will bring you the one and only KAWAII-METAL style!

17. SUZU and KOTOMI both have a description for their "character" so is it a personality trait you portray on stage when in BabyBeard, how are you different when not in this character mode?

K: I have no difference in character between onstage and offstage. I tend to be strangely excited all the time actually. 😊

S: I don’t have on-off character persona. My family always say to me I’m surprisingly in my own way. If there was one difference, I would be really quiet when I’m sleepy. I’m so quiet like a different person.

18. You both share various hobbies, likes and dislikes, if you had to switch for the day, who would last the longest in each other's shoes?

K: I think SUZU will lose…I’m fairy patient so I think I can stand longer than her.

S: It would be fun if I could be KOTOMI! I think we can enjoy each other’s persona because we’re very different. But I think I would be the one who gives up first.

19. Let's talk about the attire, did you decide upon the colors and overall design of what you would look like for this project as a whole or share ideas between the trio of you?

K: I chose blue because I like it. The costume was made by a wonderful designer, and it’s very cute! I like it a lot!

S: Personally my favorite color is purple, but I thought green would work with other member’s color. The costume was designed after a cupcake, and I think it’s very adorable. I like it!

20. Can you briefly discuss some of the songs that have been written and recorded for BabyBeard, what can be expected upon listening to the music?

K: Our new song “NIPPON KARA KONNICHIWA” is the song which brings everyone energy from Japan! Especially I like the lyric “I wanna hug you when we meet in person”, because it’s really cute! I want everyone to listen to the song. The other song PIENIZER, is made under the theme of Japanese word “Pien”, which is used when something sad or pity happens. The message is “If you feel sad, tomorrow is another day, so don’t worry!” so it’s a very positive song.

S: Both songs are catchy and once you hear it you’ll want to hear it again. They are also very feel-good songs with the pop rhythms.

21. What else is in-store from you girls and BabyBeard as a whole for the year 2021 and beyond!

K: We want to bring you a lot of Kawaii and energy through the internet until we can meet in person! Please support us!

S: I want to make as many people happy as possible with our activities! Let’s make a year 2021 smile!
