INCITE Announce New Album
Modern thrashers INCITE will release a brand new record, entitled Up In Hell, on September 2, 2014 via Minus HEAD Records. Furthering their status as a formidable and fresh force in heavy metal, Up In Hell was produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by Matt Hyde (Deftones, Slayer, Hatebreed, Parkway Drive) at Hideaway Studios. Production assistance was provided by Thomas Bellier and Jon Nicholson of Drum Fetish is credited as drum technician on the album.
INCITE aren’t new to the heavy metal world – not only have they been performing and releasing music for a better part of the past 10 years – they are fronted by Richie Cavalera, son of Max Cavalera (Soulfly, Killer Be Killed, Cavalera Conspiracy, Sepultura).
“We live Up In Hell nowadays. The world is getting crazier all the time. Nothing seems like it’s getting better,” states Richie Cavalera. “I felt like the song and the title perfectly encapsulated these days. We're all on our own, and we have to survive.”

“INCITE was a blast to work with because they know who they are and what they want and most importantly, they have what it takes to get it,” states producer Matt Hyde. “I love listening to the record we did because I love great riffs and this record has the kind of riffs I would love to be able to play, plus Richie kills it on every song. And of course, Lennon is a fucking beast on drums, which makes him every producer’s best friend.”
With Up In Hell, the quintet unleashes a torrent of staggering grooves, thrashing riffs, and pummeling rhythms. Richie Cavalera adds that Matt Hyde’s attention to detail really made all the difference on Up In Hell, “It was like nothing before. He really pushed all of us to get to that next level. The big thing involved performance. Matt paid attention to the smallest and most minute details. He went through everything from top-to-bottom. It meant a lot to us to work with someone who cares about our music as much as we do.”
VOCALIST GEOFF RICKLY AND FORMER LOSTPROPHETS MEMBERS FORM NO DEVOTION
Brooklyn-based label Collect Records is pleased to announce the debut single from its first signing No Devotion, the new indie-rock endeavor fronted by former Thursday and United Nations vocalist Geoff Rickly that also includes the remaining members of the former UK multi-platinum-selling band Lostprophets. Debuting its new song on Billboard.com, "Stay," No Devotion's proper introduction as a band, is being released today via iTunes as a single with another No Devotion track titled "Eyeshadow." This is a story that starts with an ending. An atypical story for modern music, this is a tragedy that isn't mythologized, a drama that couldn't have been manufactured. In this story, a popular band does not rediscover friendship to deliver the best album of their careers. The story of No Devotion truly has no precedent.
By now, most people-or at least most anyone reading this-know what happened to Lostprophets, the Welsh sextet whose multi-platinum, fifteen-year career died instantly with the horrific actions of its former lead singer. What most people haven't seemed to consider, however, is how the lives of the band's remaining members - Lee Gaze, Luke Johnson, Mike Lewis, Jamie Oliver, and Stuart Richardson - were profoundly impacted. Harshly uprooted from their settled lives and careers, their own notions of trust and betrayal tested beyond measure, there was never going to be an ending in which everything could simply go back to where it was before.
"We didn't know if we would ever make music again," Richardson recalls, "if people would look us in the face. Everything felt like it was over."
There was a long period of reflection, a sort of self-preservation for themselves and their families. And then, the music did come, albeit not like before.
By the time they approached former Thursday vocalist Geoff Rickly with a batch of instrumental tracks, an updated creative template had been forged and the singer's famously eclectic musical interests - which he spent the last few years exploring as both a solo artist and as a member of United Nations - somehow perfectly aligned with this new direction.
"To be honest, I never really listened to Lostprophets," Rickly admits. "But with this music, we speak a common language. You don't really grow out of punk, you grow with it. To my mind, post-punk was about taking a more sophisticated approach to that sound, and I think we all have a shared respect for that era of modern music."
After much consideration, Rickly agreed to front the new project. In light of the recent controversy, no one believed that this was an easy request.
"I had always liked these guys in passing: they're funny and self-aware. I didn't think it was fair, what was happening to them. And, well, the music was too good to pass up," he says, simply.
Which is to say that this story is not so much about alienation as it is about connection, and it's not about redemption as much as personal reclamation. No Devotion provided a vehicle for its members to become themselves again, and the two songs that comprise this, their debut 12-inch for Collect Records, were the fuel.
"We didn't know what else to do," Richardson explains. "We just wrote music. I didn't know if anyone would ever want to hear it, I didn't know if anyone ever would hear it. I just needed to occupy my brain." He pauses, then adds, "We just needed this."

DOWN ROYALE Announces New Album and Releases New Video
Australia’s Groovecore masters Down Royale have released their highly anticipated debut full length album, ‘Sway’ through Convergence Records. "There are a lot of great but also different moments on this album" commented guitarist Jackson Cheng. "We hope to surprise everyone with the new songs." CANNIBAL CORPSE To Release 'A Skeletal Domain' Album In September
Death metal veterans CANNIBAL CORPSE will release their new album, "A Skeletal Domain", in early September via Metal Blade Records.
Regarding CANNIBAL CORPSE's decision to record "A Skeletal Domain" with producer Mark Lewis (ARSIS, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, WHITECHAPEL, DEVILDRIVER, DEICIDE, SIX FEET UNDER) at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida, CANNIBAL CORPSE bassist Alex Webster recently told Metal Wani: "We've done three records [2006's 'Kill', 2009's 'Evisceration Plague' and 2012's 'Torture'] with Erik [Rutan, HATE ETERNAL] and all three of them turned out incredible; we're so happy with the production. But at the same time, we haven't worked with a different producer since 2003, when we worked with Neil [Kernon] on 'The Wretched Spawn'. So, really, when you're in a career for a long time, like we are, occasionally changing the people you work with, or changing the location of where you're working, can just help you feel more motivated to work, really. And we thought, 'OK, we've done these three records with Erik that were so successful, he did such a great job, but let's leave it at that for now, and maybe try working with Mark.' Since their studio is also very close to us. Both Erik and Mark's studios are down here in central Florida. So we figured, why not give it a try? Just to do something a little different; we'll see. But we would not rule out working with Erik again. He's awesome and we consider him a brother of the band, so working with Erik Rutan could certainly happen again in the future."
On the topic of how the new CANNIBAL CORPSE material is sounding, Webster said: "I think it's turning out to be kind of a dark-sounding album. Which, you know, it's a death metal album, so, of course, it should be kind of dark and eerie sounding anyway, but I think this one a little more than normal. That was kind of the direction the songwriting went in. Pat [O'Brien, guitar] actually wrote a lot on this album. This will be the first album where Pat wrote more songs than anyone else. He's really been super motivated, and he's been writing some great, great material that we're all really excited about. And some of it, it's very evil-sounding stuff. So I think our fans will be very happy. There's nothing on here that's even a million miles close to being a sellout, you know what I mean?! It's definitely full-on evil death metal. I think everyone will enjoy it."

It Lies Within Announces August “Music Over Matter Tour” With Curses
It Lies Within, who recently finished up their tour run with One Year Later that included a stop at Driven Fest, just announced that they will be touring this August on the Music Over Matter Tour with Curses. The tour, which is sponsored by Music Over Matter, begins August 1st in Toledo, OH at Frankie’s before ending August 16th in Reading, PA at Reverb. The tour will hit ten states during the span of sixteen weeks. It Lies Within is still touring off their 2012 release, Chrysalis (Luxor Records), while finishing work on their new album. The new release is being produced by Jonny Mcbee of The Browning and will feature new guitarist Alex Maggard and new bassist/singer Erik McKay.
Here Come The Mummies Java Drags his Feet to Get this Piece Done
Egyptians from the outskirts of Tennessee takes their love of horror in film and music to a whole new level like previous acts have done i.e. Wednesday 13, Murderdolls, The Horrorpops, Calabrese, Stellar Corpses, among other metal, rock, and punk horror based groups, these guys do it their own way entirely. Here Comes The Mummies takes the aspect that Slipknot, Mushroomhead, Gwar, and Mudvanye have done except uses that concept to their own likeness with the mummy, tomb, and Egyptian appeal. Percussionist/vocalist Java discussed this unique act that's only 3, 5000 years old.
1. Let us get started by filling in our readers as to what the band has been up to in the past year.
Java: 2014 has been the year of two major undead endeavors: multiple free EP’s and our new live DVD called Rejunannihilation.
2. Can you give those of us who aren't familiar with Here Come the Mummies a brief history of the band and can you please describe your sound for those who have yet to hear your music?
Java: We are 3,500 year old mummies that play terrifying funk from beyond the grave. In common terms, this means a mix rock, funk, R&B, ska, and Latin grooves.
3. The name Here Come the Mummies conveys the thought of horror imagery. Was it hard to decide on that name?
Java: Nope. It was very apt … since we are mummies, and we are always coming.
4. Why did the thought of having so many members be a part of Here Come the Mummies?
Java: It takes an army to make our sound: horns, keys, percussion, etc.
5. Tell me about the mummy attire why the Mummy, out of all of the monsters available.
Java: No garb, baby. If we unwrapped, we would disintegrate.6. When it comes to the attire itself, how long does it take for each one of you to get ready in general whether it'd be for a photo shoot, performance, video shoot, etc. Would you or have you done any of these without the get-up?
Java: We are always wrapped and ready. You never know when you will get tagged in.
7. How did you and Sphinxter Records come together? Are you pleased with what they have been doing for you thus far?
Java: Sphinxter is us, and we are terrible. Actually, we work really hard, but it is tough being your own money bag.
8. Do you think being from Tennessee has influenced your sound?
Java: Yes, it has solidified the fact that we do not want to sound country.
9. What lyrical theme do you guys use in your music? What message do you want to send?
Java: We sing about all things naughty: you know, the various styles of romantic chasing and boning. Sometimes, we are obvious, sometimes obtuse, but it is always sex. What else is there?
10. Could you take us through the writing process of Here Come the Mummies? How does one of your epic songs come to be?
Java: It is just like making a sandwich: there are so many ways it comes together, but it is always tasty.
11. Why did you decide and want your albums to be available as free downloads instead of paying for your music?
Java: It seems that the entire market is moving toward less physical sales, and toward file sharing and streaming. We figure that our subsistence will come from tickets and t-shirts, so we will use the music as promotion.
12. What do you think is the most underrated Here Come the Mummies album?
Java: Not sure any of them are underrated.
13. Do you have any new music in the works in terms of a follow-up to your previous releases?
Java: We are doing 4 or 5 EP’s this year, the second of which just came out. It is called “Pull It Off,”

14. On June 7 PBS SoCal Plus's "Front and Center" programming showcased your DVD "Rejuvannihilation". How did you get approached to be on this showcase and how much editing was done to this release for it to be shown on television? What do you the reactions were for those who witnessed your performance that way for the first time?
Java: The team at FogoLabs (the Lamoureux brothers, that directed it) made it happen. Reactions have been stellar. It is a must see for those who dig concert films.
15. Have you noticed the economy affecting your tour attendance or merch sales?
Java: Not really. In tough times, people often still turn to concerts. In good times, they do the same.
16. Since you have so many albums, does it keep getting more difficult to put together a setlist?
Java: Yes! And this year, we have been trying to change it up a ton. The result is that many “classics” get left off the set, and some fans get testy.
17. What can fans expect to hear? More new songs or old songs?
Java: Both. Get ready.
18. When you headline do you change things up and switch songs from show to show?
Java: We almost always headline, and the set is changing every couple of weeks, but not often night to night.
19. What is your favorite song to play live (from any release)?
Java: Dunno.... probably “A La Mode” and “Limo Ride”.20. When it comes to performing each and every night does the time stand still or does it fly by when performing?
Java: Depends on how much hummus we have eaten, and how hot it is.
21. What is one special effect or stage prop that you would want to use or see during your shows?
Java: The Drill-do.
