Multiple Juno-nominated, Canadian hardcore metal punks, Cancer Bats have just released their sixth studio album, "The Spark That Moves", as a surprise worldwide. Choosing to forgo the traditional lead ups and teaser singles, Cancer Bats, with no forewarning, released "The Spark That Moves" in its entirety on all digital services at 12:01 this morning, with vinyl and CD's ready to ship out to fans the same day.

The album is now available through the band’s own record label Bat Skull Records in partnership with New Damage Records in Canada and the US. Purchase or stream the album HERE: http://radi.al/CancerBatsTSTM.

"We were just tired of waiting," said front man Liam Joseph Cormier. "We spent all of 2017 working hard on this album, all while playing shows and talking with our fans, who were constantly asking “when can we hear new music!?". We figured why make anyone wait any longer, let’s just drop the entire new album all at once," Cormier enthused. "I know as a fan, I just want to hear everything right away, let me buy the record right now!  We figured, why not release our own music the way we want."

On top of releasing all 11 tracks off of their new record, Cancer Bats decided to pull "a bit of a Beyonce" and have dropped a music video for every song on the album. The videos are premiering now via a variety of media outlets worldwide. Check out each of the videos created below.

"The Spark That Moves" follows the bands critically successful album "Searching for Zero" (2015), which landed Cancer Bats their fourth Juno Award nomination for Metal/Hard Music Album. Recorded in Winnipeg, MB, under the watchful eyes and ears of JP Peters (Propagandhi) at his studio Private Ear and mixed by long-time collaborator and award-winning producer Eric Ratz, (producer of Hail Destroyer, Bears Mayors Scraps & Bones and Dead Set On Living), "The Spark That Moves" is Cancer Bats at its finest. Combining all of the elements from their last 5 releases, the 11 tracks that make up the album blend together the bands most melodic moments with their most aggressive, becoming a savage sprint of hardcore, punk, sludge, and metal that leaves the listener craving more. Drummer Mike Peters and lead bass player Jaye Schwarzer seamlessly collide together like two wild beasts, while guitarist Scott Middleton blasts his signature layers of squeals and destruction over top. All of this thunderously led by singer Liam Cormier’s now fully formed melodic growl as he fires both positive, inspiring lyrics and scorching damnation as displayed on album opener "Gate Keeper".  Without skipping a beat, they fire on track 2, "Brightest Days", shifting back to a classic Bats positive party anthem. The record seamlessly keeps this pace of raw, catchy, anthemic, metal and punk. Halfway through it breathes with the melodic standout "Bed Of Nails", a touch of desert rock they add into the mix before diving back into the chaos that is "Head Wound". This pace continues right until the crushing album closer "Winterpeg", an ode to the very city they recorded in, featuring guest vocals from Chris Hannah of the legendary Winnipeg punk band, Propagandhi.

Cancer Bats are currently on tour celebrating the 10th anniversary of their acclaimed sophomore album Hail Destroyer. The band will play two sold-out shows in Toronto this weekend at Lee’s Palace before heading to the UK to play four back-to-back shows at the Underworld in London. New Damage Records is thrilled to announce the addition of multiple-JUNO nominated hardcore-punk-metal outfit Cancer Bats to our Canadian roster. The beloved Toronto-based band will release their highly anticipated fifth studio LP titled Searching for Zero on March 10, 2015. The 10-track album is now available for pre-order on iTunes HERE and from our webstore HERE. Fans who pre-order the album will receive an instantly get the lead single “Arsenic”. The iTunes version of the album will also include an exclusive track titled “Rust and Bone”.

Produced by legendary multi-platinum producer Ross Robinson (At The Drive-In, Slipknot,The Cure, Sepultura, Glassjaw) SearchingFor Zero is simultaneously the most melodic, yet menacing Cancer Bats release. The record incorporates the crude hardcore punk of their 2006 debut, BirthingThe Giant and more metal leanings of 2008’s Hail Destroyer, while pushing the heavy hybrid sounds of 2010’s Mayors Bears Scraps and Bones and 2012’s darker Dead Set On Living to a new plateau.

Intergalactic Mutant Overlords GWAR, are plotting their return to the road this fall.  Taking a break from working on their new album as well as an extended arctic slumber, GWAR is back with an entirely new show.  Your lords and masters will be wreaking havoc across North America, with support coming from DevilDriver, Cancer Bats and Legacy of Disorder.  The tour is currently scheduled to kick off October 12th in Philadelphia, PA and run through November 26th in Millvale, PA.  More dates are expected to be added in the coming weeks.  Tickets go on sale this Friday July 27th and Saturday July 28th.

When asked for comment on the upcoming tour, GWAR front-thing Oderus Urungus muttered something incoherent, then when prodded a bit more muttered something else incoherent.  After the third attempt for comment something more intelligible came from the mouth of the warty one:

Said Lord Oderus, "Once again GWAR returns, hoof and nail, to our old stomping grounds, North America, on a tour of utter destruction, and this time nothing less than the greatest power in the universe will do as our primary victim! That's right, this time GWAR, fresh from our battle with Death, takes on another of history's biggest assholes...God himself! Seeing as we don't have the new album done yet, we really had to do something spectacular..."

Oderus belched out a midget and continued. "This tour will also see the arrival of a new Scumdog brother to aid GWAR in our quest to destroy everything that sucks. That's right, I can finally reveal certain details regarding our new album...ever since our missing band mate Flattus Maximus took his leave of Earth, members of the Maximus tribe have been showing up at our Antarctic fortress, not only to pay their respects but also eat all of our food. And also lay tracks on the new album! You see, every member of the Maximus family rips on guitar (though Flattus taught them all they know), and they were anxious to help us fill the void left by Flattus. We have been working with his brothers Pustulus, Infecticus, Bubonus and even the shunned Corpulus...and right now they are fighting it out as to which one of them will stay here with the mighty GWAR for the "FATE OR CHAOS" Tour...and beyond! Get ready world, this fall shall see the birth of a new Scumdog!"

Before GWAR takes to the road this fall, they are of course hosting the premiere event of the Summer, the 3rd Annual GWAR-B-Q.  Ring Dog Rescue and Slave Pit Inc. are proud to present the 2012 GWAR-B-Q, being held Aug. 18th at Hadad's Water Park in lovely Richmond, Va.! Tickets are available online at www.gwarbq.com or you can pick up physical tickets at Plan 9 Records in Carytown or Vinyl Conflict Records in Oregon Hill.  Bands on the bill include: GWAR, The Casualties, Strike Anywhere, Valient Thor, Ghoul and a host of other killer bands.  For more info, be sure to visit www.gwarbq.com.

GWAR will also be performing at this year's RiotFest in Chicago, IL on September 15th.  Around that show, GWAR will be playing three special dates with The Casualties providing support.

DEVILDRIVER has set "Beast" as the title of its fifth album, due on February 22, 2011 via Roadrunner Records. The CD was recorded at Sonic Ranch studios in Tornillo, Texas with producer Mark Lewis (TRIVIUM, CHIMAIRA, ALL THAT REMAINS) and is currently being mixed by acclaimed British producer Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, EXODUS, MACHINE HEAD, NEVERMORE, ARCH ENEMY) at his Backstage studio in Derbyshire, England. The band recorded 14 songs during the "Beast" sessions, with 11 or 12 tracks expected to make the final cut.

Songtitles set to appear on the CD include:

* Dead to Rights
* Hardened
* Bring The Fight (To the Floor)
* Shitlist
* Talons Out (Teeth Sharpened)
* Blur
* You Make Me Sick (Sacred Secrets)
* The Blame Game
* Coldblooded
* Crowns of Creation
* Lend Myself to the Night

"The record is extreme," vocalist Dez Fafara told Revolver magazine. "And it attacks from start to finish. If you liked [2007's] 'The Last Kind Words', this is like that on steroids and crank, driving a Buick Skylark 200 miles an hour straight to Vegas."

"I felt like I was waking up and experiencing a moment of clarity that brought out all these pissed off, negative emotions," Fafara said of making the album. "It's an all-out release of pain.

"It's been a beast of a year and a half, and it's still going," he added.

DEVILDRIVER's latest CD, "Pray For Villains", sold around 14,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 35 on The Billboard 200 chart.
