Solve The Nodus Talks of Music and Plans in the Making!

Alternative rock act SOLVE THE NODUS combine the likes of alt rock, rap, and metal to create such meaning, that others would understand the happening's within living in our world we call home. Discover what else the band had to say about their music and plans ahead.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Solve The Nodus started as the Founder Daniel Reid being a solo artist. Daniel went through a trauma which triggered his mental health. He saw a guitar in a shop window and felt compelled to buy it, he then learnt a couple of covers to vent and it inspired him to song write. Daniel then recorded two tracks very simply as his musical talent was limited. He then took the songs to Ollie Robinson of Armistice records who was studying at the abbey road institute at the time and they worked together to create the vision and sound Daniel wanted them to be. When they were completed he reached out via Facebook to find and members and he met drummer Luke Holmes who liked the sound. Luke then brought Jordan Francis (bass) and Ben Upton (guitar) to a practice session and we all clicked straight away. Daniel was working on his third single which was a co write called "if i could" so we all went to the abbey road institute together to create the track! Since then we have written lots together and produced tracks from Bens home studio! With the next track coming December called "Demons".

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

Music for Daniel was his therapy and his outlet. Nodus means an intricate problem so Daniel opted for solve the Nodus as it represents exactly what music is for him. Solving his mental problems.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

The Band come From Portsmouth, Fareham and Waterlooville. The music scene is very much alive down here and original music is well receipted! We gig regularly both local and nationally! There are countless bands we could name but we’d like to big up a couple that have a great moral compass and sound, Not So Righteous, Blood Buzzards, The Dusty Trims to name a few or I would fill pages with recommendations!

4. How would you describe your style?

I’d like to think we are very versatile and tailor our sound to match the line ups and venues. When we headline our style is energy, passion and raw emotion. Genre wise we are a hybrid of Alt Rock, Hard Rock and Metal. Others have described us as a perfectly balanced blend of Enter Shakiri and Limp Biskit.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We have released three singles so far By My Side, I Just Can’t Be Tied and If I Could and a music video for our first version of the next release Demons. You can expect a rock ballad, a skater style rock song and a hard rock style with metal elements from the current releases!

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

We are dropping another single next month (December) titled Demons and we plan to drop three Eps 2020 all slightly different styles and emotions to give something for everyone! Then we plan to drop an album of our own pure passion!

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We currently play a lot of ticketed and free entry shows all over the place! We have been very fortunate with gigs! You can catch us in Portsmouth, Southampton, Alton, Manchester, Brighton just to name a few areas! We are planning a little Europe tour focused on Amsterdam next year and we are currently debating a South Africa tour as a couple of venues have shown interest.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Our plans are to go all the way, play music everyday around the world while promoting mental health therapy and helping out charities. While making some passionate music of course!

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

You can find all of our music on all good streaming/music platforms and YouTube! You can buy our limited edition merch at gigs and you can find links to our merch on our website or Facebook!

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

We’d like them to remember how we made them feel, that we connected and left an imprint! Thank you so much for having us!
