Skumlove’s Recent track Ride Or Die, Which was featured on Metal Hammer’s Top Metal Songs of 2024, continues to evolve, this time receiving a powerful remix from none other than industrial rock veterans 16 Volt. 

With a longstanding history of collaboration and mutual inspiration, it was only a matter of time before Eric Powell of 16 Volt put his signature coldwave touch on a Skumlove track. 

“I was excited to finally do a remix for Skumlove,” says Powell. “Been a longtime friend and fan, and I was excited to give Ride Or Die a 16 Volt spin!”

 For Skumlove, this remix is the culmination of two decades of friendship and artistic connection. “Eric and I have always talked about doing remixes for the last 20 years. So to have him finally take hold of our music and put that 16 Volt coldwave groove to it is a dream come true!” 

Produced and co-written by Sean Dever, Ride Or Die has already made waves with previous remixes by Frontal Boundary and Cheyne Fritts of BlackJacket. Now, with 16 Volt’s dark, driving reinterpretation, the song takes on an entirely new life—one that’s sure to electrify industrial rock fans.

Lamb of God’s Ashes of the Wake (20th Anniversary Edition), featuring new mixes of classic tracks like “Laid To Rest” and “Omerta” by HEALTH and Justin K Broadrick, respectively, along with an enhanced version of “Another Nail For Your Coffin” with guest vocals from Malevolence‘s Alex Taylor and Kublai Khan TX’s Matt Honeycutt, is out now via Epic Records and Legacy Recordings.

The album’s release is accompanied by a lyric video for Justin K Broadrick’s (Godflesh/Jesu) reimagined version of “Omerta” (https://lambofgod.lnk.to/OmertaLyricVideo). “Since the release of Godflesh’s landmark 1989 debut album, Streetcleaner, I’ve been a fan of the beautifully abrasive sounds Justin Broadrick has unleased,” Randy Blythe shares. “To have this groundbreaking artist remix my personal favorite song from Ashes of the Wake is beyond wild to me.”

In a recent Revolver x Lamb of God special issue, Blythe explained that the song title refers to “the old-School Sicilian Cosa Nostra code of silence,” and adding, “that aspect of ‘handle your own shit’ is very attractive to me, especially in this insane, litigious, whiny society we live in.”

Award-winning electronic metal band Esprit D'Air is excited to announce the release of a powerful remix of their hit single "Shizuku" by the acclaimed metal drum and bass producer .

Esprit D'Air, led by the multi-instrumentalist and guitarist of The Sisters of Mercy, Kai, has been making waves in the music industry with a blend of electronic and metal elements. Their debut album, Constellations (2017), earned the prestigious 'Best Metal Album' accolade at the Independent Music Awards, with judges including members of Slayer, Sepultura, and Amy Lee of Evanescence. PREP have today released a set of three new remixes, which reimagine tracks from their recent EP "Cold Fire" (out now through Jeffrey International). Featuring re-rubs from Hype Machine-topping Two Another, 37 Adventures-signed producer Royce Wood Junior, and PREP’s own Giom, the remixes arrive on the tail of a sold-out London Oslo headline show and a raft of Asian tour dates from PREP.

Two Another’s opening remix of "Cold Fire" suffuses the EP’s title track - which features guest spots from Kaytranada-approved producer Pomo and Korean megastar DEAN - with bursts of choppy, disco-leaning guitar, whilst PREP’s own drummer, Guillaume Jambel - under the Giom alias, with which he’s also topped the Beatport chart & collaborated with the likes of George Fitzgerald and Joey Negro - transports "Snake Oil" (which also features Kitsuné signing Reva Devito) onto the dance floor with a House rework. The string of remixes is rounded out by Jamie Woon-collaborator Royce Wood Junior, who pitches down PREP frontman Tom Havelock’s falsetto to striking effect on his mix of rueful EP closer "Rachel".

The "Cold Fire" EP captures hotly-tipped Londoners PREP making good on the buzz from their debut EP "Futures", released in 2016 alongside 4 Hype Machine hits, an AlunaGeorge remix and radio plays across Radio, 1Xtra and Beats 1, with over 7 million streams online. PREP came about as an alias for 4 artists with an eye-watering list of credits under their belts. Co-writer and keyboard player Llywelyn Ap Myrddin began writing instrumentals with Guillaume, who has previously headlined Fabric and collaborated with Defected Records. Llywelyn was thrown by the response to these tracks from Grammy nominee Dan Radclyffe, noted for his work on recordings by Drake and AlunaGeorge. "I played him this instrumental, and Dan said, "Well that’s quite Yacht Rock, isn’t it?" And I was like "What on earth is Yacht Rock?"" Sensing the foundations of a shared musical DNA, Myrddin, Jambel and Radclyffe’s line up was solidified by frontman Tom Havelock, who’d previously been co-writing for Riton, Sinead Hartnett and Ray BLK).

Eastern European band Raizer kicks off 2018 with this intense remix of Circle of Dust’s "Outside In." Delivering Raizer's futuristic sound of fusing EDM with rock, they’ve kicked up the electronic programming and created an upbeat version of the sentimental track. Sharpening their skills of drum & bass with heavy guitars, the mix showcases how their sound has developed since their debut album, "We Are The Future", was released on FiXT in early 2017. New York rock band The Plague deliver an intense remix of Circle of Dust's "Embracing Entropy" (feat. Celldweller), as frontman and writer/producer David Adam Monroe re-vamps the entire track, more akin to a cover than a remix. Re-recording and re-producing all the primary instruments, from guitars and bass to drums and synths, the track transforms from an electronic opus to an aggressive onslaught.

"When I got asked to do this remix, I was blown away. Celldweller and FiXT were a huge influence on me making 'The Plague' record, so it was incredible honor to work on this Cirle of Dust remix.  I loved a lot of the drum phrases in the original so I tried to preserve some of them, and of course slap on some fuzz guitars!” - The Plague

Swedish pop sensation Maja Francis has enlisted London’s Shura on remix duties for her latest single "Saved By The Summer", out now through Universal Music.

Shura pulls down the tempo of the glorious electro-pop original to create a twisted piece of atmospheric electronica. Shura incorporates trap beats and dark bass under Maja’s soaring warped vocals before switching to breakbeats and trance inducing synths to close the track.

Regarding the remix Maja says, "I love Shura and now she’s made a remix version of my song where it ends differently and darker. I was never saved by the summer in this one...."

Recorded by the band themselves at SOS Studio in Chicago and Everflow Studios in Berwyn, IL, "Cloak of Skies", is 50-minutes of pure sonic madness. In celebration of the holidays, ERA 9 have dropped another unpredictable, addictive video for a new track entitled "Santa's Naughty List (XMAS Remix)". The track starts out as fun, club-ready trap-hop with a sinister twist, and suddenly veers into an in-your-face low and heavy metal jam.

It depicts Santa (Anthony Lalla) and Mrs. Claus (Laurie Normandin) as they interrogate a few bad boys and girls who seem to always end up on the nice list. This year is different though... the Claus family is tired of their sh*t and will not be having any more of it! Alt/pop indie artist TRISTN, and co-producer, John Secolo (The Pretty Reckless) and their remix of “Sky Wide Open,” taken from her debut album January, out now. 

TRISTN explains how the remix came to be: “‘Sky Wide Ope’ has become a fan-favorite track on my album January.  My fans have been telling me how happy this song makes them feel.  We decided to make a remix of this song simply just to make it even happier.  John Secolo and I worked together on a short project a few years back.  I sent him the song for a remix production and he did such an amazing job making it even happier.”

Montreal psych-rock trio Elephant Stone have announced new remix album, featuring members of Young Galaxy, TOY, Caribou, Tahiti 80 and more. The album follows the release of the band’s recent full length Ship of Fools - out now on Elephants On Parade/Burger Records. The renditions found on ‘Remix of Fools’ intensify the moments of infectious rhythm, highlight the swirling atmospherics, amplify the hidden hooks, and take the songs into unexpected and uncharted territory.

Rishi Dhir thoughts on how the remix brought the song to its potential: "I loved this song the moment I wrote it. In my mind the melody was as catchy as they came and had a great Chaka Khan beat to back it up. Sadly, I find it kind of got lost in the shuffle of Ship of Fools. It wasn’t really anyone’s fault.. Maybe we just didn’t “nail it” on the album. I mean, I write pop songs but have the tendency to dress them up in paisley technicolour coats, if you catch my drift. Xavier (Tahiti 80) and I have been in contact for a few years. He caught one of our gigs in France and reached out via twitter. I was a fan of Tahiti 80s first record, so this was a pretty big thrill. It wasn’t until this summer that we met in Paris. As is my way, I asked if he would be interested in doing a remix. For the record, Xavier is immensely talented and a wonderful soul. He’s a mammoth songwriter/arranger. This is no more more evident than with what he did to this song. He made this song into everything I always wanted it to be. I got very excited. Regardless, I hope you enjoy this version as much as I do."
