Wednesday 13 Declares Saturday a Wednesday for Hollywood Showcase!
Having seen Wednesday 13 twice when he brought back the Murderdolls for a reunion tour in 2010, and that’s when I also had the chance to interview him for the first time, and then the second time was when he was his solo act as Wednesday 13. Now about a little over 10 years since the first and last time seeing the Murderdolls live, and 13 years since the first time seeing Wednesday 13 live, it would be time to catch Wednesday 13 meets the Murderdolls, with his celebration of his 20 year album “Transylvania 90210: Songs of Death, Dying, and the Dead” released back in 2005, the album that got me into Wednesday 13 in the first place, later then discovering he also was in the Muderdolls soon afterwards.
Those two previous times was when he would play the iconic venue known as the Key Club in Hollywood, now it is no longer in existence. So tonight’s performance would be at his new home staple of a venue the notorious Whisky a Go Go, with the show being quite packed in, at some moments throughout the evening, it was hard moving around, both on the floor and upstairs in the balcony. Arriving close to 8PM, is when the opener’s would play I Ya Toyah a one women project that combines elements of industrial, pop, electro, dark wave and alternative, rock music to creative a rather unique yet aural tapestry of music. Her styling wasn’t anywhere near being heavy, yet more mellow, had an easy going element to it, with moments that would appear heavy yet were not. Her abilities as a performer were promising, and kept the music rather interesting. She took the usage of laser affects thanks to the use of her finger gloves, with back lights also providing lightening elements. The use of elements is proven quite front and center. Her set was entertaining and lit up the evening for what else was expected.
I YA TOYAH:
Following would be The Dead Rabbitts, featuring frontman vocalist Craig Mabbitt, best known as being the frontman of Escape The Fate! This metalcore project would take a heavier approach than how Escape The Fate would sound slightly, they still have some heavy hitters here and there. But with this project, Craig goes full force with providing a more direct approach with heaviness. Break downs, melodies, screams, it all fits perfectly within the music that is being pushed outward. Best of all, they took their namesake to the stage, having all the members covered in rabbit masks. It made their performance make Easter come early! Their energy provided was off with some agnst and aggression, having the audience get into their delivery of performance, but keeping the energy in check, making it fun yet fulfilling.
THE DEAD RABBITTS:
After they had wrapped up is Stitched Up Heart was next and I hadn’t seen them since the very first time way back in 2011! So for one, the line up had changed minus the singer of course, and they would go on to release more music, over that span of time. Having hoped to hear their track “Is This the Way You Get To Hell?” was a letdown, but other tracks were played from their later works. They sounded intense yet brutal, which was not a bad thing. They did delivery quite the energetic performance, getting the mosh pit to open up quite a few times during their set. They kept the momentum in full force, making their performance very overflowing, even having the front women playing guitar during some tracks. They are an act that has come a long way, with some change perhaps for the better, except bringing the old music back into the mix, would have sharpened things up a little better.
STITCHED UP HEART:
Ending the evening would be Wednesday 13’s performance, him including an assortment of songs from his number of bands, from the Murderdolls, down to his other project Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13, down to Billy Idol’s cover song “White Wedding”. Some of the Murderdoll tracks sung would be “People Hate Me”, “Dead in Hollywood” and “Slit My Wrist”, with some of the other’s being Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13, such as “Love at First Fright”, “Rambo”, “197666” and “I Love to Say Fuck”. His own songs as Wednesday 13 included such as “I Walked with a Zombie”, “Bad Things”, “I Want You Dead”, “In Misery”, and “Look What the Bats Dragged In” among others. All of the songs sung would make the crowd go crazy with cheers, shouts, and a mosh pit occurring as well! The energy flowing off one another, with the fog machines, strobe lights and lighting affects, caused the excitement to never end. Lots there were singing along, with many others jumping up and down, raising their fists, horns, and the middle finger high in the air! It was fun every which way you looked, the energy was flawless and truly never ending.
WEDNESDAY 13:
Overall Wednesday 13 has still got it in him, for being close to 50! Surely having much more life in him leftover, that much more tours, shows, and plenty of music is expected from him for many moons to come forth, from here on out!

WEDNESDAY 13 Announces 2025 North American Headline Tour
Today, the Duke of Spook, WEDNESDAY 13, has emerged to announce that he will be hitting the road next spring for an exciting North American headline run.
The "There's No Such Things As Monsters" Tour kicks off Friday, March 14, in Las Vegas, NV, and will haunt a slew of major cities across the US and Canada, including Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta, New York City, and Toronto among others before wrapping up in Colorado Springs, CO on Saturday, May 3. Support will come from Stitched Up Heart, Dead Rabbits, and I Ya Toyah.
