1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Hello, and thank you very much for your interest in our band!

The band comes from the largest industrial center of Ukraine - Donetsk. Which is historically known as the land of hardworking people, and its also the land of the Shakhtar football team, many famous rock musicians and, unfortunately, the place of war for the last 8 years.

In 2015, we made a decision to leave our homeland, and went on an endless tour around the world. Over the years we have recorded 4 albums and 1 EP.

We played about 500 concerts in Europe, starting from the Sea of ​​Azov to across the Atlantic Ocean, shot 10 video works on our own, and now we are closely involved in charity and fundraising for internal refugees  and children from boarding schools.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

Sinoptik translates as a weather forecaster.

I needed an authentic name… now I have it! :) I try to predict some world events, but as a real weather forecaster I often make mistakes too. So we're all kind of sinoptiks in a way.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

Я могу порекомендовать Jinjer, дахабраха , Онука и Омана это то, что вот прямо сейчас на уме. 

Но выживают, тол ко те, кто объединяется и вопреки войне и всеобщему горю делают добрые дела и находят время турить и помогать друг другу. Я бы написал так. Что бы порокерски. Это хоть резонанс вызовет. 

I can recommend Jinjer, DakhaBrakha, Onuka and Omana, that’s what on my mind right now. 

Our band is originally from Donetsk, as i said before, but we relocated to Kyiv when the war started in our city almost 8 years ago. 

The music scene in Ukraine is going through a lot of painful processes right now, partially due to war, and also due to internal misunderstandings among local artists. And i’d say that only those musicians will survive, who unite right now, find time to tour and help our country, and support each other.

4. How would you describe your style?

Hard rock with elements of psychedelic and progressive rock.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We experiment with every album. Since I have the abilities and skills to produce and record everything myself, each album is original in sound, form and content. Therefore, I’d advise you to always listen from the 1st album in turn. Usually everyone finds something of their own and favorite. This music is for all people. I wouldn't call it niche.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

Yes, we have a lot of drafts for the new album, which are divided into songs before February 24 and after. If we release the vinyl, there would be a very interesting contrast.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We are planning a lot of concerts. We are very motivated and we do have a lot to say to the world. I'm on tour at the moment and I'm feeling some very strong energies. Which means one needs to continue. Especially when one gets great feedback from the crowd!

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Many successful concerts around the world, which will be an integral part of charity and help to Ukrainian families of internal refugees. And then after the war ends, we will return to the global issues of humanity on this planet.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

I would like the listener to be able to visualize what he hears, when listening to our music. Nowadays there is a lot of rock music that is listened to in the background. And people remember it as “oh, I want to work and I need this stoner band, because they don’t strain my attention while I work”. It's not about our music. Our music and lyrics require attention. Hopefully the listener will be rewarded. And visualizing the music, he or she will choose what to remember. Thanks!

Progressive modern day metalcore band RIVER STOLE GODS has not one but two EP's out, with some more tracks readily available soon! The band talks of music, show playing, and plans for their debut album!

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Adam: The band’s journey actually began in 2018, when Raphael and I found together via Facebook: at that time, I was searching for some musicians to start a new band project with and came across Raphael’s post in a Facebook music group. Pretty fast, we wrote a bunch of songs like “Collapse” and “Impediment” and by 2019, we had found Lasse and the previous other members via the good old “www.” We got pretty fast into recording our first EP “Sky Architects” and had the chance to tour East Europe with Slam Metal Band “Ingested”. Since then, a lot has happened with the Corona pandemic - a lot of writing and producing throughout the past two years in our home studios, when lives weren’t possible, the band members changed and with that, our musical style evolved. With the latest release “Holding On”, we are going to continue as a trio: Lasse, Raphael and I.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

Adam: Our band name reflects the diverse perspectives of life and is meant to be open for interpretation.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

Adam: We are based in Düsseldorf, Germany. I would say, the music scene here is vivid and brings out a lot of talented and bold young Progressive Metalcore bands such as “Æries”, “Time the Valuator” and “Unprocessed” – just to name a few of many great bands these days.

4. How would you describe your style?

Adam: Our sound is a pretty good mix of more complex, rather rhythm-driven riffs for lovers of progressive tunes and hard-hitting brutal breakdowns.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

Adam: So far, we have released two EPs called “Sky Architects” and “Apparitions” – both launched in 2020 – and one week ago, our latest release “Holding On” dropped as the first chapter of a Single-Trilogy. With the very new song, you can expect a more progressed, heavier version of River Stole Gods, that will let you sing along, bounce, and do a lot of mosh pits in our upcoming lives.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

Adam: As previously announced, two more songs will be released in the near future through a common storyline, which lyrically, musically and visually tie in with "Holding On". So, you better watch out for us in the near future, if you have liked what we do so far.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

Adam: In October, we play to local shows in Cologne (Oct, 11th) and Hürth (Oct, 21st) and are thrilled to perform our new song “Holding On” for the first time live. We are planning to tour as much as possible in 2023, so you guys will definitely have the chance to see us somewhere live in Europe next year.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Adam: For the near future we plan our first album, as we have a bunch of cool stuff, that should be found on a LP, as we think! And of course, to get more into touring, maybe across Europe or even the globe with great bands and meet inspiring musicians on our musical journey. We really do enjoy making music and want to bring this joy and passion to people across the world and connect with music lovers like we are.

Heavy progressive metal group OAKS have an album out there with some other songs in the back for now. Some shows have been planned out with a lot else also in the works, everything coming along slowly but surely. The band discusses their music creativity and just wanting to make more music and playing it too!

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Thibault an I where friends from our hometown (Strasbourg). Then we moved to Paris and we wanted to make music. Then we jammed on some tunes and found that those materials needed to be played in band. 

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

We tried different names and we were interested by this name Oak … Something strong.... heavy … But the name was already taken so we just put on an “S”. The rest is magic!!

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We all live and work in Paris. And to be honest we are not really “in the scene”. But there are some good band here like Hangman's Chair or Karass..... and many others!!!

4. How would you describe your style?

I like to think that we are playing prog … but some will say it's heavypsychedelicoprogydoommetal ? To resume we play heavy and long song !! We try to mix a lot of different feelings in our songs. We all have a lot of influences. Similar or different … 

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

Genesis of the abstract is our first record. So we hope the people get banged with our our song. We try to put them in a journey in heavy areas.... 

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

We have some songs on the grill. But it's a long process ….

Some shows are planed and naturally we want to play more... but we have to find the gigs .. promote them etc … Not really easy. We have to manage this with our life job and familly! We don't like to get bored.

Glam-core band OCEANS ON ORION have released a couple of single's with an expected full-length expected this coming next year! The band talks of the music scene, music creativeness, and what else is planned aside from some shows and music!

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Oceans on Orion is a fun band. It was founded by singer & principal writer, Lev Kerzhner and features guitarist and leader, Sergei Nemichenister (Formerly of Desert), bassist and K-Pop aficionado Guy Schwartz, Guitarist Logan Omer Cohen and drummer Aviram Zeevy. The band started off in 2018 playing more traditional heavy metal, releasing an EP as “Hartsbane”, before letting the past be past and turning to a more modern tone and style. In the local scene, we’re well known for energetic and somewhat flamboyant performances and ridiculous vlogs, which we make a point of releasing regularly.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

The name “Oceans on Orion” is in some ways a thought experiment on the concept of “beauty unseen”. To paraphrase. “ If a tree fell in the forest and no one heard it, did it fall”, we ask, “ If something is beautiful but is never seen by anyone, is it still beautiful?”

For me, the answer is “yes”. I believe it is. I believe that there are oceans on planets unseen in galaxies far away filled with beauty that no one will ever experience. I use this belief as comfort, when writing, when working, when the doing and its beauty is only visible to the author and the maker. It IS beautiful, even if no one heard of it yet.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We’re from Tel Aviv Israel, where a small but very colorful metal scene exists. Our people are well known to touring bands as some of the warmest, most energetic audiences you’ll get to perform for.

There are many amazing bands in Israel, Scardust for example is a truly epic progressive metal band, featuring some of the most talented musicians I’ve ever met. Walkways is another, and both performed at this years Wacken Open Air, which is pretty amazing.

4. How would you describe your style?

“Glam-core”. Not really. But in all seriousness, we do combine alot of classic “glammish” vocal harmonies and leads with heavier, core inspired riffing. Some call this “Happy metal”, but I think it’s because we have so much fun on stage.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

This past year and some, we released a bunch of singles including “Tomorrow’s Rain”, our debut which actually hit #4 on Israel’s rock Radio, staying 21 weeks on the chart and even getting nominated for song of the year. More recently we released “Weaponized Misery” which featured Ran Yerushalmi of Walkways, “Love” which was a real extravaganza of a song and “Start from Nothing” which is the opening track from our upcoming album.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

Yes we do! We have a full album release planned for January. Also lately my life has been increasingly eventful, which led to an outburst of writing. Much of the next album is already written. But one step at a time. :)

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We just performed at Psycho Ward Fest in Tel Aviv and have a few additional shows lined up in Israel for early next year. Recently we signed with Deadfall Management and Booking, so who knows, maybe a UK hop over is on the menu. :)

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

We’re building a routine. A way to release songs with awesome videos fast and fun

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

How it made them feel. Did it lift them up? Did it make them clench their fist. Did it make them feel a little better equipped to take on a complex and unforgiving world, or did it just give them a chance to forget about it? Ultimately these feelings are the impact of art and the most beautiful thing you can give someone.

Folk grunge artist MICHAEL WEBSTER has been actively doing music for sometime. Releasing a handful of EP's with another on the way and shows as well. Nothing but more music is what's focused upon right now, find out what Michael himself says about it below.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

I started doing music back in 2014, when I lived in Scotland and ended up realizing it was what i wanted to do for the rest of my life! Writing songs, performing, producing others’ work and that, it’s really fulfilling and to create something that really connects with people is an incredible feeling. I’ve got a load of releases out now, which i’m super proud of - and I’ve also worked on a bunch of great releases that I’m stoked to have been a part of. Usually it’s just me performing solo, however I’ve performed a few times with a full band and it’s always a great feeling. 

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

It’s just my name - pretty much the stick with most artists nowadays. I’ve had a few ideas for band names, but we’ll keep that on the lowdown for the time being, hoping to be able to get something together in the near future!

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

I’m based in Manchester, I put on gigs and open mics across the city and it’s utterly sublime to see the quality and community within the music scene here. There’s a real lovely sense of respect and connection between all the artists and acts, everyone supports each other and I love being a part of it. There’s a plethora of incredible bands here, far too many to name, but just a few come to mind in the form of Nat Dempsey and the Near Strangers, The Sewer Cats, and The Distance.

4. How would you describe your style?

I usually describe myself as a folk-grunge artist haha. This mostly stems from my influence from heavier music, but staying within a singer-songwriter lane - my songs have a tendency to be relatively heavier but maintain that folky aspect to them through the songwriting, and I've got a whole load of influences ranging from hip-hop, to pop, to punk and alternative. I try to listen to lots of music and use the inspiration from it all to form my music! 

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

So far, I’ve released six double singles, a live EP, a “demos” EP and a proper EP, back in 2019. My earlier work was a lot more heavier than the rest, so when I put out the “paper dreams” EP it gave me a bit more space to be a bit more chilled out with the tracks, so it’s got a real nice balance of more calmer ballads and heavier tunes. The singles I’ve put out since then were way more chill, I love the idea of having double singles - it allows for a nice balance and to group songs that work well together. Most of my songs can be easily described as “Northern” haha. I utilize a lot of my background in my music, with my accent, dictation and flow forming the vocal melodies. There’s also a fair bit of influence from the outside world - I'm not a stranger to writing about political themes, philosophy or just that which i see around me. 

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

I’m hoping to get another EP sorted by the end of the year! I’ve been working on it for a while, these are some of my favorite songs I’ve written and I’m real excited for people to hear them.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

I run a lot of open mics and that each week here in Manchester, but I’m hoping to get a little mini-tour sorted for the start of next year and I'm sure I’ll be getting an EP release show sorted as well. 

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

I’ve got a lot in the works! I’ve now got plenty of songs under my belt - I’ve got ideas for an album, more EPs, it’s a lot of work but I'm properly looking forward to getting on with it. I’m also looking to work with new people as well, get them involved with my music and collaborate with them on projects!

Very much the lyrical content. I’m a big fan of songwriting, and I focus most of my musical style on that - however, over the past few years I’ve been working on my guitar style, trying to make it more unique and accustomed to what I want it to sound like. 

Melodic hardcore punks HIKE THE PEAK have had 6 EP releases so far, with a lot more in-store and out soon enough. A lot more music is ready to go as well as a lot else planned, with this band just wanting everyone to hear  it first! The band talks of it all below.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Hi, I'm Lee. I’ve been playing in melodic punk bands for over 20 years I’ve toured mainland Europe a lot of times and when the covid lockdowns kind put a stop to my full-time band NO CONTEST I realized how much I missed music so instead of wasting my time I started focus a lot on songwriting and recording in my home studio…..Being locked at home sent my mental health a bit haywire so I needed something to focus on….so slowly but surely I began hiding away in my spare room playing my guitar and learning a whole clutch of music programs……My vocal talents are back up vocals at best so I thought id contact a few of my friends that I’ve toured/played shows with in the UK and the euro mainland to see if anyone was interested in adding their vocal talents to the project…..the response back was massively positive. That’s how it started….

Each 2 track ep has been released every 6 weeks since September 2021….and since we’ve emerged from the covid lockdowns the interest from people wanting to get involved in HIKE THE PEAK has been immense. So the project will be continuing as long as people keep listening

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

I'm a snowboarder and have been for years. The name derives from riding off piste….if you want to get up higher past where the chairlift stops or your on a mountain with no lifts you walk up to then ride all the way down. Hence you ‘Hike the Peak’

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

I live in Sheffield, UK. All of the singers are from different countries stretching from Canada to Japan and everywhere in-between. As for the scene in Sheffield there’s a few bands but tbh Leeds, 40 miles up the road has much more of my scene, two bands of note THE HUMAN PROJECT and EAT DEFEAT are two you should definitely seek out Sheffield does have some great live venues from The Corporation which sees a lot of major acts come through down to a good dedicated DIY punk space called the Lughole that offers some great line ups and matinee shows. 

4. How would you describe your style?

Style-wise I think we straddle the line of melodic hardcore and skate punk….I’m always after a phat catchy chorus though…that’s the key. Rapid songs though, no ballads in this dojo.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

Since September 2021 we’ve released 6 eps and have another 4 coming out by next spring. I'm not the most shred level guitar player but I like a fast tempo and always strive to write the catchiest hooks I can….im all about melodies, melodies, melodies.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

The new ep is due out on Oct 21st 2022 and has 2 more songs. The guest vocalists for those two tracks are John Harcus from Scottish Skatepunk legends PMX and Ace from Japanese melodic punk band SHAMES.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

Because of the ethos of the band being just myself playing all the instruments with guest vocalists playing a live show will be very tricky! However, if there was a festival where a few of the contributors bands were playing which meant that a few of the people would all be in the same place then obviously it is something that could hopefully make happen one day.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

I have a hard drive full of songs and we will keep going until I either run out of money or don’t have anybody left to approach to sing on those songs.

You either like music or you don’t its that simple….in this day and age so much art is throwaway so if someone listens to Hike the Peak and they find a melody or a phrase or a hook that means they want to listen to us again then that’s all I can ask for. Fundamentally that’s what we, as songwriters want the listener to take from it. The list of countries and towns I see on my Spotify information page blows my mind when really I’ve recorded all of this in a home studio and then sent it out into the world and people in all these places can enjoy it. Metal go getters FAUSTUS has not one but two album's currently, with a lot much in-store for themselves. No shows or touring yet in the works, just focusing upon more music than anything else really. The band discusses their music content and everything else with it!

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

From the forests in the middle of Sweden the foundation of the band was formed in 2011 by the two brothers Anton Pärlenskog (guitars), Oskar Pärlenskog (drums) and Mattias Lövhaga (guitars) soon after they met at a local School. During the first years our main focus was to find a solid lineup, as well as writing material for our first demo.

As a session musician for an upcoming show Nils Hedberg (bass) joined in 2013, and has since been a member of the group. Since then, we parted ways with our first vocalist Victor to find our next vocalist, Jonas.  Shortly thereafter, we began writing our first album Laments of an Obscure Mind. Featuring 11 tracks and released on all major platforms. 

Jonas had to, due to personal reasons, step down from the role as vocalist and Faustus were left without a front man. During that time Ludvig Setterlind (vocalist) was in a band called Amentia, friends of ours. As we of Faustus were in need of a vocalist, having booked some gigs in Sweden we reached out to Ludvig to help us.

After the tour we felt we had found the perfect match and asked Ludvig to join permanently, he kindly accepted. Faustus started to write our magnum opus,THE record “Memoriam” right away.  One year after we started the writing process, the album was done. Scheduled to enter Obsidian Recordings Located in the well-known Studio Fredman In the fall of ‘21.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

The origin of the name is based on a combination of the iterations of Dr. Faust by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Christopher Marlowe. More attuned to the tragic and mystic parts of the character.

In Marlowes drama Faustus sells his soul to the devil in exchange for knowledge and a life of 24 years in success and bliss. But as we all know, selling your soul to the devil might come with some complications.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

The band Faustus originated in Bollnäs, Hälsingland, Sweden (pronounced: HELL-sing-land) is a small town but despite its size there are a lot of musicians and bands located here. The live music scene in this town is unfortunately not the most popular for metal music anymore… 

But this town has A LOT of great metal musicians! We have a ton of really good bands such as: Morgana Lefay, Tad Morose, Gormathon, Bloodbound, Caedem and of course ourselves Faustus. We all started in this little town in the middle of nowhere!

4. How would you describe your style?

It is very hard to put yourself in a genre, we don't really fit the specifics. To make life a little easier we call it “knövelmetal” as coined by the Djentlemen of Meshuggah.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We have  one self-released album prior to this release "Laments of an Obscure Mind". What you can expect is brutal technical polyrhythmic madness but with an emphasis on groove and also at times doomish. Tuned down to hell and let's not forget about those tasty leads.

Due to severe personal loss and terrible events that we in Faustus have experienced in the last couple of years, the upcoming album “Memoriam” is an amalgamation of those feelings and experiences as well as us taking things to the next level with some unadulterated thinking.

We all managed to harness our darkest thoughts, grief and hate to write this record!

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

Well we have the album of course. Other than that it's just bits and pieces here and there and ideas that we want sooner than later to transition into a few songs.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

Nothing planned, yet! 

We have been focused on releasing this fucking beast of an album. As for now, the planning of shows and touring has started!

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

 2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

The origin of the name came from the Latin influence of the previous members Juan, Esteban and I. Esteban came up with it and we all thought it sounded badass. It was one word too so that made it perfect.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

The band is based deep in the heart of Texas. Houston Texas to be exact and we’re very prideful in showing that and representing our great state and southern drawl. You’ll see us wearing cowboy boots pretty frequently and cowboy hats. The only band is recommend is Diosa baby!

4. How would you describe your style?

I can’t put into words our style, it’s hard for an artist to put a label or a style on themselves. We create. Same as a painter, to the public Salvador Dali had a style, but to him he was just putting paint on a canvas that he thought would work and what he wanted to paint. We just write music that comes from the heart and music we wanna hear. So I guess that would be our style.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We’ve been releasing music since 2016, and you can expect more and more to be released till the day I die. You can expect honest rock n roll.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

We always have music in works, I personally have about 38 voice memos of riffs and skeletons of songs and ideas that I have.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We just signed to Deadfall Management, we play around Texas at the moment but that’ll change pretty soon. Don’t wanna say too much.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Keep growing, never be satisfied and try and conquer the world with my boys. We want to be the next big rock band. Playing arenas and stadiums. Gonna take a lot of work but, this is what we love to do. So it’s not really work. We’re ready to go to war.

9.  Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

You can listen to our music on any streaming platform. We’re working on a virtual merch shop at the moment. But as of now, you can buy merch at shows.

10.What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

The chorus. That’s the money maker. We get that stuck in someone’s head? We did our job.

Drummer Carlos Cruz states: "WARBRINGER is ecstatic to return to the road with our upcoming U.S. Unraveling headline tour in support of our latest album, 'Weapons of Tomorrow'! It’s been over two years since the album’s release and the band is long overdue to perform these songs live on the west coast! We wanted to do something cool for the fans and film a new music video for the album’s heaviest song, “Crushed Beneath the Tracks”! Thanks to director Juan Rodriguez (Haze Grey Pictures) and his team for collaborating with us to create wicked visuals for such a neck-breaking track!
