Mattel’s Monster High line has broken out into the gaming world thanks to THQ. The cast and crew and creators behind these ghoulish fiends have brought the world of Monster High to life in a handheld and console way for the Nintendo DS/DSI and Nintendo Wii gaming consoles. Graphics per each version of the game varies and coming from a Nintendo DS owner the graphics are quite pleasing to say the least.

Monster High Ghoul Spirit you have the chance at being a student at Monster High! So where to begin? Why not the home scream where you pick the type of monster you wish to be which can be Zombie, Mummy, Vampire, Werewolf, Gorgon, or Mash Up of any of those choices, then you get to style your fashionable tastes with various hairstyles, clothing, and make-up, sorry to say that there are only three options per each available item also sorry guy ghouls you have to play as a female character in this version perhaps in a future release a guy and gurl will be choosable.

After freshing up with your all new look you are given a name to use or have the ability to pick out your own scary cool name to go by when roaming the halls of Monster High. You are then brought into the Headless Headmistress Bloodgood’s office where she has you get your school I.D. then tells you to go meet your ghoulish guide Draculaura! She then guides you around the school and shows you to your locker which you have the chance to deck out with stylish stickers, putting various items in storage, etc.

Soon after this you are free to explore the grounds and you meet various characters that you have come to recognize and relate to in the series from Frankie Stein, Clawdeen Wolf, Lagoona Blue, Ghoulia Yelps, Cleo De Nile, Deuce Gorgon, Heath Burns, and newer additions Holt Hyde, Jackson Jekyll, Heath Burns, Spectra Vondergeist, Abbey Bominable, Operetta, Clawd Wolf, Toralei and the Werecat sisters, and more! The voice actors/actress's provide their ghoulish talents as their voiceovers for each of the loveable characters.

After interacting with the characters using your iCoffin they ask you to help them with tasks around the campus interacting with the teachers and students and getting to go deeper into the halls and walls of the ghoulish school. You can earn points that will gain you even more chances at earning the royal crown of being known as Scream Queen at Monster High, just be sure to keep an eye on that ghoul meter the higher it goes the better the chances.

All in all Monster High Ghoul Spirit is a fresh start at something to expand its horizons in the future, perhaps in a follow-up release you will be able to connect with your friends over Wi-Fi and really interact with one another, be able to be a guy or gurl, and meet many more new characters that are just within our grasp!
