Decline the Fall is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of ‘Perspectives,’ the eagerly-awaited second album from the formidable metal band. The album, which was funded by Arts Council Malta, features 11 tracks of pure emotion. From melodic clean vocals to piercing screams, dynamic
drumming, mesmerizing guitar tapping, groovy riffs, and neck-breaking breakdowns, this release promises to be an onslaught of raw power and unrelenting intensity.

“I believe we’ve grown as musicians, which is evident in the more mature sound compared to our debut album,” says Ehren. “Yet, we’ve preserved our distinctive ethereal sound.”

"As the world sat in silence in the wake of a global pandemic, the band members put their heads down and started working on material for their second full-length album.“ COVID-19 was the main catalyst from
which ‘Perspectives’ was born, eventually shaping into somewhat of a concept album,” explains John. “Kris, an introvert, embraced every moment; while I, as an extrovert, struggled a lot with feelings of
anxiety and isolation.”

‘Perspectives’ delves into themes such as the perils of political greed, the facets of loneliness, and the depths of mental anguish. The album is a testament to the band’s unwavering commitment to fearlessly
addressing thought-provoking subjects.

The band independently recorded everything in their own studio, while mixing and mastering was handled by Fredrik Nordström at Studio Fredman.

Progressive metal outcasts DECLINE THE FALL have a handful of single's out, with them hard at work upon what will be their debut album "Our Own Demise". So much work has been work already for this release, that it has lead the band to work upon their sophomore album as it were. Both releases will be coming soon enough. Besides that content, the band does go into discussion about themselves a bit more, the music of course, and wanting to get out and tour!

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

The band started off around 5 years ago with John being one of the founding members and the only remaining member left from the original line up. John never gave up on is wish to form a band and slowly but surely, newer members replaced less dedicated members to form the lineup we have today. Every member present today brought varied influences in the picture which enabled us to musically express ourselves the way we do.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

Our strong will to never give up. All of us, as a band and on a personal level had struggles impeding us from reaching our goals but we had to be stronger than that. Our band name represents our resolve.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We are currently based in Malta. Even though the scene is somewhat limited, there is a strong brotherhood amongst bands and followers which allows the majority of events to be fun and entertaining. We would definitely recommend bands like Club Murder, Slit and Fallen Icon who are very well known to the scene.

4. How would you describe your style?

Nowadays we definitely describe ourselves as Metalcore, though there are some vague influences of Melodic Death metal every now and then.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We have so far released 3 songs; Carnival World was released 3 years ago; Composing Madness was our first release with the current lineup 2 years ago; whereas Nemesis was released in April 2020 as a build up towards releasing our first Album. ‘Our Own Demise’ will be a themed album tackling the way humans are destroying earth. Each song, lyrically and musically represents a different aspect of our interpretation towards this fact.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

‘Our Own Demise’ will be launched in a couple of months’ time, we’re just finishing off the final touches. However, works have already commenced on material for a 2nd album and we’re very happy and excited with what has been done so far.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We did have a plan for an album launch, though of course, the current global situation ended up with us having to postpone plans to a later stage.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

The band will be relocating to Slovenia within the coming year, giving us better access to tour around mainland Europe and possibly score a tour.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

One can listen to our songs on YouTube and Spotify at the moment. We are updating our website and we will have an online shop where you may buy our merch straight from our website. Of course, in the meantime, you may easily get in contact with us through Facebook, Instagram or through an email to order any merchandise.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

We hope to raise awareness towards making a conscious and joint effort when it comes to how we treat each other, how we treat other living beings and how we treat our own home. We aim to be a loud and solid voice for those who badly need to scream but don’t have any support.
