Swedish death metal titans Bloodbath’s fourth studio album ‘Grand Morbid Funeral’ turns 10 this year. To mark the anniversary, Peaceville will be reissuing the album on limited edition silver/black marble-effect vinyl. Recorded at Ghost Ward Studios and the City of Glass Studios in Stockholm and mixed by David Castillo, ‘Grand Morbid Funeral’, was undoubtedly the band’s darkest and dirtiest opus upon its release in 2014; an organic collection of filth-ridden tracks straight from the grave, boldly eschewing the approach of somewhat over-produced modern death metal in favour of something altogether more rotten to the bone. Formed in 1998 with a mutual fascination for horror & the glory days of death metal (especially the old Florida & Stockholm ‘Sunlight’ scenes), the band has remained a leading light of extreme metal since their 'Breeding Death' EP was unleashed back in 2000, and a formidable force in the metal world for over twenty-five years, notable for the inclusion of Katatonia, Opeth and Paradise Lost members.

With doom-like melodies mixed with raw and savage riffing, and featuring a number of guest appearances including Chris Reifert and Eric Cutler from US gore-masters Autopsy, ‘Grand Morbid Funeral’ marked a new high-point of brutality for Bloodbath.

The 1980's saw these Swedish teenagers consuming all the horror and slasher movies they could, glued to their VHS’, their obsession with the genre only intensified as the media campaigned and lobbied against an outbreak of "video-violence", preaching warnings of how it would ruin a generation of kids.

Fast forward 30 years and those media warnings have come to fruition as those teenagers grew up and became Bloodbath, Sweden’s shadiest death cult and they now present to you "Chainsaw Lullaby", the gore-filled, blood splattered ode to their weapon of choice spliced together with an AC/DC inspired death ‘n’ roll soundtrack. Welcome to the terrifying Bloodbath world where the saw IS the law!

Anders ‘Blakkheim’ Nystrom "I wanted to keep it really simple and uncomplicated whilst retaining an evil groovy drive to make the song engage in headbanging action and sing along exercises. Having started a ‘red’ thread, I then locked in the chainsaw concept as a dual tribute to the Boss HM-2 guitar pedal sound as well as my love for the horror slasher genre and had both the music and lyrics going at the same time. I’ve always been a fan of lyrical paradoxes and the song title was just waiting to happen."

Bloodbath, Stockholm’s shadiest death cult – with members drawn from metal luminaries Paradise Lost, Katatonia, Opeth and Craft - have released their first bloodsoaked track "Bloodicide", from their eagerly awaited new album "The Arrow Of Satan Is Drawn", out October 26th 2018 on Peaceville.

The track "Bloodicide", quite literally meaning "The Killing Of Blood" features a stellar line up of British death metal guest stars, with Carcass’ Jeff Walker, Bolt Thrower/Memoriam singer Karl Willetts and Cancer’s John Walker all lending their larynxes to the madness.

Due to unforeseen and uncontrollable circumstances involving complications with the U.S. visa process, Swedish masters of death metal Bloodbath have been forced to postpone their upcoming North American tour dates. The band’s excursion was set to begin this week and included performances at Maryland Deathfest and Modified Ghost Festival. The tour will be rescheduled for a later date.

"It’s with an immense mix of anger, frustration and sadness that we’re forced to announce the following news - We will not be flying out tomorrow to begin our first North American tour we all so much looked forward to playing. We’ve been rehearsing and preparing this for months and our gear and bags are packed ready by the doorstep, but sadly due to the US Immigration and Embassy making a mistake with our visas, they couldn’t fix it in time and reissue it. We hoped we never would have to make this kind of announcement, we were still trusting they would issue it in time to the very bitter end, but now with less than 24hrs to go, we have to accept our fate, it ain’t gonna happen. We’re so sorry for all of you who bought a ticket and made plans to come see Bloodbath! On any kind of positive note, we WILL be rescheduling (nothing else is acceptable!) and prepare to play the tour as soon as possible. More news on refunds etc. ASAP" - Bloodbath

Sweden's master of horror, Bloodbath, set to release its fourth album of supreme death metal, Grand Morbid Funeral, on November 18 through Peaceville Records, has unveiled a new track, "Unite in Pain," featuring new vocalist Nick Holmes. Blakkheim (guitar) commented, "'Unite in Pain' is a very 'straight to the death metal bone' kinda song. A morbid cry out to the old school past when things were kept simple but effective. Take the legs of Slayer, the feet of Entombed, the arms of Bathory, the hands of Death and piece them together with the severed head of Bloodbath, shovel a HM-2 pedal down its throat and face the gore, once more!"

"The original lyrical content for 'Unite in Pain' was about the human need to wish for a peaceful death without suffering, so I tried to reverse this where only a painful end would suffice," added Nick Holmes. "The lyrics were sent to me direct from His Unholyness, and some of the words got lost in translation from ancient Latin to American English."

Sweden's master of horror, Bloodbath - notable for the inclusion of Katatonia and Opeth members - is set to release its fourth album of supreme death metal, Grand Morbid Funeral, on November 18 through Peaceville Records. Following the departure of Opeth's Mikael Åkerfeldt and months of speculation and rumor, Metal Hammer (U.K.) has revealed Paradise Lost's Nick Holmes as the new vocalist of Bloodbath.

Blakkheim (guitar) commented, "Little did I expect to be working with the voice behind the death metal classic Lost Paradise, or the genre defining Gothic, and yet here we are decades later fulfilling another death metal dream. With his sinister and ominous vocal delivery, it's an absolute pleasure to make Old Nick the bell-ringer in Bloodbath's Grand Morbid Funeral!"

Jonas Renkse (bass) commented, "Ever since I got into Lost Paradise back in '90, Nick Holmes has been one of my favorite growling vocalists out there. He was always audible and articulate but still deep and definitely morbid. It is a great pleasure to work with him some 25 years later after I was introduced to his thunderous roar!"

Swedish death metal group supergroup Bloodbath is proud to announce the release of the band’s brand new live DVD Bloodbath Over Bloodstock, out today on Peaceville Records.  The DVD can be purchased through the Peaceville Records webstore at: http://www.burningshed.com/store/peaceville/product/261/2748/.

The deluxe mediabook-packaged release features Bloodbath’s full performance from Bloodstock 2010, one of the UK’s leading heavy metal events.  The set consists of songs from the critically acclaimed tornado of blasphemy, The Fathomless Mastery (2008), and other classics and fan favorites.

The full DVD package will also consist of a 16-page booklet and a wealth of extras, including bonus footage taken from Party.San festival in 2008, as well as extensive band member interviews.
