Saturns Downfall Talks of Band's Formation, Music Creativity, and Sharing More with the World!

Rock band SATURNS DOWNFALL was formed in this year that is currently 2025 by drummer Brady Hearn. Since formation, Brady has received help from family as well as his friends bringing Colby Bennett on vocals, with the band going on to release their debut single "Bury The Beast". Now the band has taken some time to talk with us about their formation, music, and what the future holds.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or did it come out just like that?

I had this band name in my back pocket for about 3 years.. I’ve always been intrigued by space and one of my favorite planets growing up as a kid was Saturn. I’ve always like the word Downfall, it just sounds cool when you say it and it is a great name for a band but of course has been used many times before.

One day it clicked for me and I was like Saturns Downfall. Has a nice ring to it and once I made the font I knew I had to officially use it. it looked and sounded like a “real” band name to me.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I’ve always grown up listening to rock music because of my dad being in bands as far back as I can remember. The early 2000’s rock era had really stuck with me in my younger years. I’d say the influence of that era of rock naturally came out in my songwriting after all these years.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I’ve known Colby (singer) for about 10 years now. We went to High School together but we didn’t connect as friends until a few years later after we had graduated. He’s a little older than me actually, by like 2 years. I remember meeting his Dad in passing at the local music shop here in our hometown. He was telling me about how his son’s videos on YouTube were reaching millions of views and he was a singer/songwriter. I never put the two together until I looked him up on Youtube. I was blown away by how much natural talent he had. He was one of the first people I’d say who did the whole performance cover videos on YouTube before really anybody else was doing it. I knew he had something special and that he took it serious when it came to music. I wanted to work with him in a band one day. We eventually worked together and been in and out of so many bands together over the years since then and now here we are reunited once again.

And then there’s my dad who we had recruited for the guitar work, my dad’s been playing music and been in bands all my life. I wanted to go against the grain and bring him in on this project. 2025 is a different time for music and the whole world is at your fingertips with social media. We don’t need a label to tell us who we need in the band to “look” the part or be “young”. If we create music that people will connect with, that’s the most important thing to me no matter who is involved.

4. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We’re all from York, Pennsylvania. Red Lion/Windsor area to be specific. There is a lot of musicians here in our area. Central Pa is very rich with music here and all difference genres of music as well. Local bands I could recommend, there’s a lot of amazing bands around here and I don’t want to pick just one. They’re all great!

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

My dad has has these amazing riffs I’ve heard over the years and I’ve always had a vision for transforming them into something much bigger. Recently, I’ve been reverse engineering our writing process though. I start with getting these crazy ideas out of my head. It usually starts with drum parts and or synth/production first. Then I have my pops come in last to add in the guitars. Sometimes it does switch up. Especially if we’re revisiting older songs we recorded together a few years ago and giving them new life. I do have to say Colby has a TON of killer material we’re now starting to go through and build from as well. I’d say right now just from myself and my Dad material of music we have 30 songs ready for Colby to sing on.

Also, my studio room with all of my odd oddities and such with the colored room lights really sets the vibe for me once I start writing something from scratch.

6. What are your songs about? (What specific themes do they cover?)

Our first single release “Bury The Beast” can be taken in many different ways for its meaning. Colby writes the lyrics and I know it’s from personal struggles/experiences he has overcome. People can relate to it with battling depression, addiction, relationships, etc.

7. Do you write your own songs? (Discuss the songwriting process in detail.)

We do write all of our own songs. I do a majority of the writing, recording, and producing of the music. My dad does contribute to that in some areas and of course with all the guitar work.

Now that we got Colby involved he also contributes in those ways as well. Especially when it comes to vocals. He’s a wizard when it comes to all of that. I would say now that we’re all creating together it’s a fairly equal writing process.

8. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We’ve released our first song ever “Bury The Beast”. I think people can expect a lot more songs just like it when it comes to authentic song writing and deep lyrical meanings that a lot of people can relate too. This music we’re creating is coming from a special place. We’ve all been through a lot throughout our lives and it couldn’t be better timing to express it through our music and to share with the World. The best part is we’re doing everything completely ourselves. It’s 100% total creative freedom.

9. Do you have any new music in the works?

Yes we do! We’ll be releasing a brand new song once a month. So our second song will be out in August. We have about 30 songs ready to go.

10. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We’d love to play some live shows! Once we have about 6 songs released we’ll be ready to look at some opening gigs. Touring in the near future would be an incredible accomplishment so we’ll push for that to happen.

11. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

We’d like to keep pushing releasing new songs, we have so much music to share with the World. Build the bands platforms on social media and hopefully get some opportunities to hit the road.

12. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

You can find our music pretty much everywhere. Spotify, Pandora, YouTube, Apple Music, and more.
