Punk rockers HALF DIZZY have a debut EP, set of single's, with a debut album expected soon, more music, videos, touring, shows, and much more fun to go around! The band talks of all of this right below.
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
We’re Half Dizzy, a 5 piece skate punk band from Long Island that started in 2021 when Dan and Dizzy turned a shared vision into something real. Our sound blends the raw energy of ‘90s punk and ska with lyrics that hit on everything from resilience and heartbreak to growing up and figuring it out on your own. Since dropping our first single, we’ve released tracks like “Turn This Up,” which we had the honor of recording with Pete Steinkopf from The Bouncing Souls. We’ve played everywhere from basements to festivals, and we pour everything we’ve got into every show and every song. This band is our story & we’re just getting started.
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
The band was started by Dan & Dizzy, so Dizzy was literally half the band at the time lol.
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
Were based out of Long Island,NY. The music scene here is pretty great! Theres so many great bands of many different genres. We love a good mixed genre show!
4. How would you describe your style?
We draw inspo from a lot of different styles of music, but if i had to describe us, I'd say were a skate punk or pop punk band that draws a lot from hardcore, ska, and punk rock.
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
So far we've released an 8 track EP, 2 singles, and we are in the process of releasing a Full length that we recorded with the legendary Pete Stienkopf of The Bouncing Souls. This record means so much to us and were incredibly proud of it! Our song themes range from broken relationships & summer party songs to songs about growing up and doing it yourself.
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
Like I said in the previous response, we are currently in the process of releasing our debut full length record titled, "Yard Sale". It is comprised of 14 brand new tracks. We also just released 2 cover songs, one is of the classic "Hooked on a feeling" and the other is an AFI song, "This Celluloid Dream".
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
We have been on short weekend tours across the US. From closer places like Connecticut & Jersey all the way to Detroit & Columbus.
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
More tours, bigger tours, more music, more videos, more fun.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
If anyone takes anything away from our music, i hope they find it relateable. I hope they hear our songs and know that they're not alone, and that whatever they're going through at any given time, we all go through it. Alienation & isolation are torture, our songs are aimed at the situations we've been through. No one is alone, no one should feel alone.
