Rock n' rollers BULLETS AND OCTANE have over 10 albums, countless videos, and an all new album expected in 2026! The band talks of pushing the borders, expansion within themselves, and the future of it all.
1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.
Bullets and Octane formed in 1999 with most of the members from St. Louis, Missouri transplanted to Los Angeles, California signed with RCA records in 2004 with a major label album “in the mouth of the young”.
2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?
In the first year, the band was auditioning, a whole slew of guitar players, and one random guy just happened to suggest calling the band Bullets and Octane. We were all young, and it just seemed to work as a placeholder for the moment and then it just ended up sticking, ha ha wasn’t much thought put into it as there should’ve been so here we are lol.
3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?
With her origins from St. Louis Missouri, we would play with Story Of The Year and any big national touring act that would come through our town. But we knew we had to migrate to a more suitable flourishing land such as Los Angeles, California. We really cut our teeth playing at chain reaction in Orange County, California along with the Viper room in Los Angeles before things really picked up.
4. How would you describe your style?
And while it’s always been a little difficult for a band to nail down a full blown description of their style or sound, we have always stuck to keeping it as simple as “rock and roll” focused on catchy, vocal, melodies and guitar riffs. It may vary from album to album or sound ever so slightly but it’s still rock ‘n’ roll.
5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?
Bullets and Octane has released over 10 different albums over 30 something music videos, and be on the lookout for a brand new full length by the end of 2026 with special Guest guitar player Steve Stevens on the album.
6. Do you have any new music in the works?
The new album is going to be epic, lots of killer Guitar work on this upcoming Bullets album. Probably one of the heavier albums we have put out in a long time. Excited to share every twist and turn definitely an adventurous piece of work. Look forward to this at the tail end of 2026.
7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?
As far as right now we are finishing up the mastering portion of the album and there is plans of doing a little run in the UK followed up with more show announcements that will be posted. Super excited to get back out on the road and play these new songs live.
8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?
Well, with the ever-changing landscape of the music industry, especially with social media and streaming I feel like there’s a lot more avenues and opportunity. That’s a little different than the old-school way of turning out an album and touring. We are very much looking forward to doing more interesting, collaborations videos, and finding new fresh musical in visual expressions but who knows what’s on the horizon with all of the crazy AI happening out there. The focus is the optimism of what new Roads present themselves for the music business.
9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?
Definitely check out Bullets and Octane on Spotify and go to our Bullets and Octane official social media Instagram for all the crazy antics and updates show, announcements releases, etc. looking forward to all the crazy antics to come.
10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?
B&O is a rock ‘n’ roll band that likes to push the borders and expand upon the traditional ideas of a chaotic rock ‘n’ roll band with an appetite for fun, love and chaos, and we highly emphasize. I’m not taking ourselves too serious, and just to have a good time life’s too short, so come join us on our journey scream along with some fun, loving rock ‘n’ roll.
