THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT (@tfp_devotion) have spent the past year drawing huge crowds at major festivals including Warped Tour and Louder Than Life, and as part of tours with bands like Ice Nine Kills, The Used, Underoath, and In This Moment. Yesterday (November 11), the emo-rooted Atlanta-based band performed their debut show overseas as part of their first-ever European tour with The Rasmus. The set list features songs from their acclaimed album GREETINGS FROM SUFFOCATE CITY - FROM BEYOND THE ABYSS: DELUXE EDITION that was released June 13 via Better Noise Music.

They’ve now lined up a massive tour supporting Three Days Grace as part of their “Alienation” U.S. tour along with I Prevail. It kicks off in Fort Wayne, IN on February 21, 2026 and wraps in November for the final show in Los Angeles. Sleep Theory will also appear on various dates along the trek.

“Getting the chance to hit the road with Three Days Grace and I Prevail is surreal in the best way,” says frontman Lee Jennings. “These are artists we’ve admired for years, and to stand alongside them night after night is an honor we don’t take lightly. We’re ready to bring everything we’ve got and make this run unforgettable. 2026 is going to be one hell of a year.”

It has been twenty one long years since the first and last time ever seeing alternative metal go getters Three Days Grace! Way back then it was in West Hollywood at the Troubadour, during their self-titled album debut run. Since then the band has had some line-up changes, reunions, and album releases spanning quite sometime in which now, the band has back in full form and force!

Back in the spring time of 2025, they would announce a co-headlining tour alongside Breaking Benjamin, and now come the fall, spooky season in fact; they would play at the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California on October 6th 2025. Having arrived at the venue a tad late, missing just a few songs, the band would play an extensive set. Not just classic songs, newer songs, but embracing the addition of welcoming back Adam Goniter to the band, alongside other vocalist Matt Walst, both vocalists being a part of other bands Saint Asonia and My Darkest Days.

The parking to get into the venue was closed off from the actual venue due to construction, so alternative parking was put into place, where fans parked, walked over, and by the time they were let in through security, and checked in via their tickets, the arena was completely filled with a sold out audience.

The band was already playing, having missed a few songs, the band would go on to play songs such as "Pain", "Never Too Late", "I Hate Everything About You", "Painkiller", "Mayday", and "The Mountain", a mix of old and new. The audience was into it, singing along, screaming along, shinning their phone lights, it was flawless and so much fun.

THREE DAYS GRACE:

Having not seen the band for so long, tonight's performance was emotional yet heartfelt at times, to hear songs I hadn't heard live in person before. Only seen via online videos, this line up made it work, and the music felt so surreal and alive it was timeless.

California legends known only as Metallica, decided to perform LIVE the first time in a while actually, except instead of performing to a crowd of on lookers of fans far and wide; they would perform to an assortment of fans far and wide within the comfort of their automobiles? Indeed true, Metallica would go on the route of doing a Drive In Concert experience by Encore Drive-In Nights. Opening for them would be Canadian rockers Three Days Grace.

Happening at the end of the month of August practically, Saturday August 29th 2020, across numerous Drive In Theaters, cars aligned the streets, fans eagerly awaiting their entry into the venue of their choice. Mine would be one out in Ventura, California, at the fairgrounds complex. This performance being a one night showing not at 8PM like many other Drive In locations but this one being at 11PM.

Arriving around 9:45PM cars were let in, aligning outside, at around after 10PMish cars slowly began pulling inside, parking in their spots, the vehicle of choice for me, would enter the venue after 10:30PM, finding its place close to show time at 11PM. The actual show not officially starting until sometime later, around 11:15-20PMish, where Three Days Grace would perform about a twenty minute set. Their setlist consisting of old and new material, including a cover track. All of their works being well played by the band, whilst their new frontman vocalist doing good but could have been just a tad better. Him replacing their former frontman Adam was a disappointment to say the least, as he had more emotion to the songs, as this new guy just gives it his all and that's about it. The band did do good though.

After their set was Metallica of course, them having a brief introduction of sorts, where it would then lead on into their extensive 16-track setlist, containing of all the fan favorites, “For Whom the Bell Tolls”, “Creeping Death”, “Sad But True”, “Master of Puppets”, and “Enter Sandman”, as well as many others, each capturing the essence of fans, and their accompanying party and vehicles. Loads of horn honking, cheers, and shouts rang out throughout the band’s entire performance really. Each of Metallica’s tune’s being sung clearly, with a very intense yet vivid stage set-up. Their performance was set in what was a grassy field, starting at dusk long into the darkened night.

All in all though, Metallica did a superb job of a performance, one that had them quite pleased with those who came out, and with themselves, being surprised at what they were able to do in the time of a pandemic and the year that was 2020.

SETLIST:

1. Hardwired to Self Destruct
2. For Whom The Bell Tolls
3. Fuel
4. Seek and Destroy
5. Creeping Death
6. One
7. Now That We’re Dead
8. Sad But True
9. Moth Into Flame
10. The Unforgiven
11. Wherever I May Roam
12. Fade To Black
13. Master Of Puppets
14. Battery
15. Nothing Else Matters
16. Enter Sandman

Three Day Grace's "I Hate Everything About You", track is what drew me in and made me a fan for the next two decades. Well while being a fan is still a part of me, their line-up is not as what it used to be, dating back to as far as their fourth album "Transit of Venus" released back in 2012 to feature longtime vocalist Adam Goniter. Who would leave the band in 2013, the band moving forward with replacing him with Matt Walst, as he would release not one but two albums with the band's original lineup minus Adam Goniter. The first album being "Human" released in 2015 with the follow-up album "Outsider" out in 2018. How did the changes take effect of the band as a whole and for the more important part their music? Well "Human" (2015) was more or less a fresh start for the band, whereas "Outsider" is a continuation of that refresher.

"The Mountain", is the first idea of which direction the band has taken since releasing their last record with the replacement vocalist Matt Walst. The track is an improvement that needed to happen to have this band last or at least move forward if this line-up plans on being the staple for the long haul. It is as said quite an improvement, the sound being very reminisce to their earlier records. The vocalization done by Matt Walst is very hard rock based, bringing in that element that Adam Goniter was so known for, his fierceness in his tone of voice, his way with the sounds of music just working in his favor. That is what is happening with Matt Walst throughout "Outsider". Especially on this track "The Mountain", it has this flare that just brings out that old Three Days Grace vibe with such enhancement it really shows in more ways than just the voice, the instruments as well, being hard, heavy, and truly hard rock driven.

The rest of the album with tracks like "Right Left Wrong", "I am an Outsider", "Nothing to Lose But You", "Love me or Leave Me", and "Strange Days", are the pick of the latter, from "Outsider". These likely being made into the next single or video release for sure. These all just give off this feeling of emotion, really striking you in the emotional circuit. But besides giving off all of the feels, the music is really powerful, very in-depth with development and overall improvement from the "Human" (2015) album.

Literally this release "Outsider" is more if how the band should have sounded when releasing their last album. That last release was good for what it was, but this album is far more superior in many factors, vocalization being a big one, while the instruments are more on put with the sound, being heavier, melodic, yet very hard rock, but in the classic way of how Three Days Grace sounded before, bringing back the feelings all over again.

Three Days Grace debut "I Am An Outsider," the second track from their forthcoming album, "Outsider" out March 9th, 2018 RCA Records, along with the album’s track listing via Billboard, who say "I Am The Outsider" "…defines both the theme of Three Days Grace's upcoming album "Outsider" and the Canadian band's lyrical outlook in general." Drummer Neil Sanderson spoke to Billboard about the process of creating the new album and the band’s upcoming tour dates. Go over to Billboard where you can read the interview with drummer Neil Sanderson, hear the new track, and find out the tracklisting and other album details about "Outsider" HERE.

Three Days Grace, the internationally acclaimed and multi-platinum certified Canadian band with over a billion streams on Spotify, will release their new album, "Outsider", on March 9th 2018 via RCA Records. "Outsider", is the sixth full-length album from the band, and is their latest since 2015’s chart-topping album "Human". "To me, Outsider represents the journey to find your place,” says bass player Brad Walst. “The world feels crazy at times. We try to get away from that every once in a while. We do our own thing, and we’re comfortable doing it. We have always looked forward—and not backwards. That’s an ongoing theme." Screen Shot 2018-01-19 at 3Forging a new path forward is exactly what the musicians did in the fall of 2016. Instead of congregating in a downtown Toronto rehearsal space, the band which consists of Matt Walst [lead vocals], Barry Stock [lead guitar], Brad Walst [bass], and Neil Sanderson [drums, percussion, keyboards, programming], initially wrote in a converted garage behind Brad’s house located two hours from the city. "This is all about taking a step back from life’s madness without destroying yourself, cutting everyone off, or going crazy," says Neil. "You get a break and find the space to create." Eventually, the band retreated to Neil’s 90-acre farm to further hone ideas, and often sat around bonfires with acoustic guitars, tapping into the wild spirit surrounding them. As the songs took shape, the band headed to the Ontario’s remote Jukasa Studios, and called upon longtime friends and collaborators including producers Gavin Brown and Howard Benso, engineer Mike Plotnikoff and Chris Lord-Alge on mixing duties, for an album that speaks directly to their army of fans from around the globe. "That production team hasn’t happened since One-X," adds Neil. "We were lucky to get this group together. It made sense because we were in a similar headspace."

As much as it upholds tradition, Outsider represents progression for Three Days Grace. Marking his second offering as part of the band, Matt showed "a new level of confidence and brought a ton of ideas," according to his brother Brad. Meanwhile, Neil expanded the signature electronic palette, integrating analog synths and standout programming with the help of Rhys Fulber [Fear Factory, Frontline Assembly]. He casually nodded to electronic influences as diverse as Nine Inch Nails, White Zombie, Bring Me The Horizon, Lana Del Rey, and a surprising cult classic, the movie Lost Boys. First single "The Mountain" evinces that evolution. Those cinematic sonic flourishes augment arena-ready riffs before summiting towards a seismic refrain, "I’m still surviving, keep climbing, keep climbing the mountain."

Given this undeniable unpredictability, "Outsider", feels right at home alongside a catalog of fan favorites from Three Days Grace. Since 2003, the band has staked a spot amongst the hard rock vanguard, breaking records, toppling charts, moving millions of units worldwide, and making history by holding the all-time record for "most #1 singles at Active Rock Radio ever" with 13. In 2015, Human marked the group’s second straight #1 slot on the Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums Chart as well as their fourth consecutive debut in Top 20 of the Top 200. It spawned two #1 singles "Painkiller" and "I Am Machine," signaling their 13th overall and 5th consecutive number ones on the Active Rock Radio chart. Moreover, the four-piece consistently averaged a staggering 3.9 million monthly listeners on Spotify—remaining one of the most listened to rock bands in the world. In 2012, "Transit of Venus", soared to the Top 5 of the Top 200 and garnered a nod for "Best Rock Album of the Year" at the Juno Awards. The seminal "One-X" [2006] notched an RIAA triple-platinum certification as "Three Days Grace" [2003] was minted platinum and "Life Starts Now" went gold. To date, their veritable arsenal of number one includes "Chalk Outline," "The High Road," "Misery Loves My Company," "World So Cold," "Good Life," "Break," "Never Too Late," "Animal I Have Become," "Pain," "Just Like You," and "Home."

Two of the biggest forces in rock radio of the past decade have announced the formation of a new band, SAINT ASONIA. The debut single, “Better Place” is available now on iTunes and can be streamed on Spotify.

With 26 top ten rock singles and seventeen #1 hit songs between them, Adam Gontier, former lead singer of Three Days Grace, and Mike Mushok, lead guitarist of Staind, have already been referred as a “supergroup,” but Gontier is quick to dismiss the moniker.

“Truth is we’re more like refugees that just really hit it off creatively,” he laughs. Adds Mushok, “I was looking for a project to do while Staind is on hiatus and the opportunity to work with Adam on writing and recording new music was something I just couldn’t pass up.”

Rounding out the band are drummer Rich Beddoe (formerly of Finger Eleven) and bassist/background vocalist Corey Lowery (Dark New Day, Stereomud, Eye Empire).

Produced by Johnny K. (Sevendust, Disturbed, Megadeth), SAINT ASONIA is currently finishing its debut full-length album, to be released this summer.  The band will also be hitting the road shortly for several concerts across North America.
