Buffalo-based post-hardcore band A Story Inspired has released a new single from their forthcoming EP Overcome/Overthrow. The glitchy, synth-infused metal track "Weak Willed" features Fit For A King's Ryan Kirby on guest vocals. The song is an ode to an issue that has impacted more than one member of the band.

"This track is about drug overdose and self-harm," says guitarist Ryan Ridley. "Within the past few years, many of the guys in ASI have had good friends and loved ones pass away due to drug overdose. The heartbreaking feeling of losing those close to you because of this isn't one that is unfamiliar to us and I'm sure to many of our fans and friends, as well. This is to any of our friends struggling with drug addiction and self-harm."

Overcome/Overthrow was produced, mixed and mastered by Andrew Baylis (Nine Shrines, Fallen Captive). In addition to Kirby, the record also features a track with Memphis May Fire's Matty Mullins on guest vocals. It will be available this Friday (4/28) on all digital retailers.

Fit For A King takes the traits of Underoath meets August Burns Red. With that their new release "Creation/Destruction" takes you into their development process with song writing and instrumental work. The guitars, drums, and bass lines concisely work together whereas the vocal chords stand alone as if everything else isn't even there. For instance "Warpath", "Skin & Bones", and "Eyes To See", express their developing process showcasing a style that is cut and pasted if you will. It doesn't really allow much to go on except sounds that are there but seem to be cut and pasted again and again. This brings down the quality that these guys can expose. Thus Fit For A King is one of those acts that has the potential to get their act together but developing material doesn't quite suit them so well.

California Metal titans IMPENDING DOOM have announced THE CHAOS REBORN TOUR running this winter in continuous support of their hard hitting record, "Baptized In Filth." Support will come from THICK AS BLOOD, FIT FOR A KING, THE BROWNING, HEARTS & HANDS and label mates THIS OR THE APOCALYPSE.
