3 Inches Of Blood have made the announcement of their disbandment sixteen years after their formation. The band went on to say the following on the band's Facebook page -

"Unfortunately this is not the sort of news you were wanting to hear but here goes.

It is now that we come to announce that 3 Inches of Blood has decided to part ways. Naturally, people will have questions as to why we have collectively made this decision. While our reasons are personal, just know we are all still good friends, but it is just time to move on. All of us will continue to pursue musical projects, so refer to our social media pages to keep up with that.

We are eternally thankful to our fans, friends and family that have stuck by us through thick and thin and always believed in us. You are the reason this band got anywhere and kept us going. We'd also like to thank our musical peers and former 3 Inches of Blood members for all your love and support over the years.

We'd like to put one last stamp on the band's career and end it in grand style. Our final performance will be in our hometown of Vancouver, BC, Canada on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the fabulous Commodore Ballroom. We're pleased to say that, Fire Up the Blades-era bassist, Nick Cates will be playing the show with us. As well, we intend to deliver other special surprises that will make this a night to remember. Tickets go on sale this Friday, June 5 and you will be able to get them here http://www.ticketmaster.ca/event/11004EBD8E6467B9."

Twelve years together and four albums in, Victoria, British Columbians 3 Inches Of Blood have toured across the U.S. and the U.K. numerous times and now that their forthcoming is upon us they just have one thing to say about it "Long Live Heavy Metal"! Frontman Cam Pipes discusses the band’s upcoming album saying that it’s an album their really proud of and will blow people’s socks off. Discussion is also said about long time bassist Aaron Gustafson departing from the band and having new comer Byron coming into the picture as the new bass man of the future. Find out what else was said and what you can expect.

1. First of all, tell us how the split with your long-time bass player Aaron Gustafson came about?

Cam: Aaron wasn't our long time bassist. He only did two tours with us in 2011. Basically it didn't work out.

2. How do you think your new bass player is fitting in?

Cam: Fitting in well. Byron is a long time friend of the band. He filled in on a short tour a few years ago when we were between bassists. The opportunity just came up now that he was available to play with us, so he hit us up about the gig.

3. What can you tell me about your upcoming album Long Live Heavy Metal?

Cam: We are very proud of this record. There's something special about it that is hard to describe, but we think it's gonna blow people's socks off.

4. Talk to me about the album artwork, there was an artistic vision you had to go along with the album itself?

Cam: We tried to keep it simple and have the title be the focus rather than the artwork.

5. The first and only time I've seen 3 Inches of Blood was when you toured with Cradle of Filth and The 69 Eyes back in 2007, do you remember that tour?

Cam: It was '07 but yes that was a very good tour.

6. Come March you will be taking part in this year's Metal Alliance Tour are you excited? Who are you most excited to be seeing and playing with?

Cam: We've toured with DevilDriver before and The Faceless too but all the other bands are mostly unfamiliar to us. So it should be interesting nevertheless.

7. You guys have toured a lot but where hasn't 3 Inches of Blood toured in or would like to make their mark in?

Cam: There's always somewhere that we'd like to go and break new ground but you always have to go back to places and keep reminding the fans what you're all about.

8. What else can we expect to see from you guys for this year?

Cam: We'll be on the road a lot. It’s just the life of a band and what we live for.

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada traditional metallers 3 INCHES OF BLOOD will release their fifth studio album, "Long Live Heavy Metal", on March 27 via Century Media Records. According to a press release, "fans can expect a blast of pure metal assured to leave no face unmelted."

"'Long Live Heavy Metal' is the fifth chapter in the book of 3 INCHES OF BLOOD, and we couldn't be more pleased and proud of our new onslaught of honest heavy metal," says guitarist Justin Hagberg.

For "Long Live Heavy Metal", 3 INCHES OF BLOOD reunited with producer and engineer Terry "Sho" Murray (CITY OF FIRE, EXHIBITIONISTS), who worked with the band on their seven-inch single, "Anthems For The Victorious".

"When a band is releasing a new record, they often speak about it being their most important work or best album to date," explains vocalist Cam Pipes. "Regardless of how clichéd either statement may sound, I think we would say both apply to this album. All of us have a special feeling about this one. We're more committed than ever to the cause of real, honest, no-bullshit heavy metal. No trends, no fucking around!"

In an interview with RockStarWeekly.com, guitarist Shane Clark stated about 3 INCHES OF BLOOD's new material, "I think the vibe will be a little more aggressive than the last one. A little heavier. We don't like repeating ourselves. We explored a lot of our more '70s hard rock and metal influences on the last one. We'll try stuff and see how it sounds, but it probably won't have that overt element to it."

Regarding the band's forthcoming DVD, Shane said, "We've been working on this all year. It started when we did our last headlining show here at the Rickshaw [in Vancouver]. So we got footage from that show and a few other shows in town. We did a show with ALEXISONFIRE at the PNE Forum, we filmed a house party that we did in town, and we did a surprise show at the Astoria. It's really going to be a bit more of a documentary, as well as performance. What we wanted to do was have footage from different types of shows. It's really just something for the fans, and something for us to document."

Beginning March 16, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD will head out on the "Metal Alliance Tour 2012" alongside DEVILDRIVER, THE FACELESS, DYING FETUS, JOB FOR A COWBOY, IMPENDING DOOM and WRETCHED.
