The Southern California-based pagan metal group HELSOTT has begun recording their second full-length album, which will be released this fall. It will serve as the follow-up to the band's M-Theory Audio debut, last year's acclaimed "The Healer" EP, which the group supported with a European tour alongside I Am Morbid and Necrophagia, and numerous regional performances alongside the likes of Dark Tranquillity, SepticFlesh and Evergrey.

HELSOTT's new album will feature two new members, as joining vocalist Eric Dow and drummer Cooper Dustman are guitarist Mark Dow, who appeared on the group's 2014 full-length debut "Woven," and bassist Doc "The Healer" Beaulieu, a longtime fan of the band who helped to make "The Healer" EP a reality.

Says Dustman, "We are stoked to have Mark back in the band, as he is the original songwriter of many HELSOTT tunes and will continue helping us progress as writers. As for Doc, this is a cool story – he started as a crowd-funder in 2014, and we found out that he is a real doctor in Newberry, Michigan. We then wrote the song "The Healer" for him as part of the crowdfunding perk, which ended up being the title track of our last EP. From there, he toured with us as crew and we became great friends. Now he is joining the band as our bass player. Don't knock crowdfunding to me!"

Vocalist Dow notes that the group's new album cranks up the volume on their pagan-influenced brand of melodic death. "I think it is going to be a very strong album, as it has all of the old HELSOTT elements that fans have come to expect, but we also tread a heavier and darker path on this new adventure," he says. "This album is definitely going to represent Pagan Metal from around the world!"

More information on HELSOTT's new album will be revealed in the coming months. In other band news, the group recently signed with European management company/booking agency The Flaming Arts. "We are thrilled to be working with The Flaming Arts," says Eric Dow. "They booked us for our first European tour, so it just feels natural to continue working together. I feel like this partnership will bring forth great things for the band."

Adds TFA's Jon Knight, "We are pleased to announce pagan metallers HELSOTT to our roster today. We are planning a number of American tours and their second run in Europe at the moment, so stay tuned for more updates!"

HELSOTT will perform two-high profile shows in San Diego in the coming weeks – a gig alongside former Paganfest tour mates Tyr on May 21, and another with Insomnium on June 7. The group has also been confirmed as the headliner of the fourth-annual Maryland Folk Metal Fest on August 18. At these shows, the band will be joined by guitarist Rafael Ortega of M-Theory Audio label mates Sicocis.

Since forming eight years ago, HELSOTT – whose name means "fatal illness" in Old Norse – has paid homage to pagan cultures and mythologies while keeping true to their American influences. The group's unique mix of folk metal, death metal, symphonic metal, thrash, classical and rock first caught the attention of audiences on a large scale during the 2013 Paganfest North American tour, where they performed with Ensiferum, Tyr and Trollfest. The group built further momentum the following year via their debut full-length, "Woven," behind which they toured alongside Arkona and Heidevolk.

Check out their list of tour dates below, and their new album coming soon!

Witch Mountain return from their three-plus-year hiatus with a refreshed line-up (new singer Kayla Dixon and bass player Justin Brown join band stalwarts Rob Wong and Nate Carson) and a new self-titled album "Witch Mountain" out May 25, 2018 Svart Records.

"We’ve always been a patient band," said founding member/drummer Nathan Carson. "Thanks to all of the touring Rob and I have done with Justin and Kayla over the last three years, we were able to make this album as a full-fledged, road-tested, family unit. Over twenty years, Witch Mountain has never peaked; each record and tour are better than the last. It was a tiny scene when we started, and even though it’s incredibly saturated now, own unique twist on Northwestern doom has continued to set us apart. I can’t wait to share the latest and greatest album with our fans."

The five-song release features the aforementioned new singer, Kayla Dixon, who had large shoes to fill when Uta Plotkin announced she was moving on following the release of Mobile of Angels. NPR said of Dixon’s abilities: "Kayla Dixon is a rarity in doom-metal, a singer with soul, dynamism, drama, control and poise. There's proficiency in her voice, but she knows that the blues — especially heavy-metal blues — rolls like thunder and wanders like a diva dancing around. She's got a gift for righteously nailing the perfect note."

TRACKLISTING:

1. Midnight
2. Mechanical World
3. Burn You Down
4. Hellfire
5. Nighthawk

A new, interesting act is going to invade the rock/metal scene: Wolf Theory! The band was born in 2017 by the meeting of four musicians with respectable curriculum built in important bands of the Italian metal scene and beyond. The line-up consists of:

Random: from 1993 to 1998 he played with Umberto Palazzo E Il Santo Niente. From 1998 to 2003 he was part of Moltheni, from 2003 to 2006 followed the experience as bass-player of Exilia, taking part to the tours that the band held around the world.

Teo Camellini: Mellowtoy drummer from 2002 to 2017. With the band he played with some iconic rock/metal artists just like Stone Sour, Papa Roach, HIM, Disturbed.

Elio Alien: In the 1990s he was in the roster of Warner Bros. In '98 he decided to focus himself to his personal project Exilia: their first album, entitled "Rightside Up", was released in 1998 by Universal. The band reached the next level with the album "Unleashed" released via Gun Records/Sony BMG that topped "Best 40" chart in Germany. After "Nobody Exluted" (2006 ) and "My Own Army" (2008) he left Exilia in 2011.

Emi Camellini: Mellowtoy vocalist from 2004 to 2017. He did live performance sharing stages with artists such as Stone Sour, Alter Bridge, Papa Roach. He released four albums with Mellowtoy, including the last one "Lies" produced by Marco Coti Zelati (Lacuna Coil).

Wolf Theory's sound is an interesting mix of electronic and rock music, filled with a particular and very personal style. The band is actually working on the first EP with producers Marco Sivo (Instant Karma, Planethard) and Frank Altare (Mellowtoy, Brain Distillers Corporation). The name Wolf Theory is inspired by the wolf's life and its way of life, moreover, is inspired by a song of Devotion. Currently, the band members are organizing a tour that will bring them on stage in Italy and Europe in the forthcoming months. The first gig will be held on 31/12/2017 at Legend Club in Milan, Italy, the very same day of the EP release party.

Kontra had announced this past March about their reunion. Since then they have gone on to make another announcement of their new line-up! Next to the only original member Marco Barraco, singer and rhythm guitar, now there are: Luigi Di Meglio on lead guitar, Luca Buonanno on bass guitar and Francesco Verrazzo on drums (former drummer of Manach Seherath). Bay Area natives and thrash metal band Hatchet have been working on the highly anticipated follow-up to 2013’s acclaimed Dawn Of The End (The End Records/ADA) since returning from last summer's tour with Flotsam & Jetsam.

The album will debut the new Hatchet lineup behind founding member, vocalist, and lead guitarist, Julz Ramos: Clayton Cagle on guitar, Kody Barba on bass, and Ben Smith on drums. The new members have injected the band with a surge of raw energy, and fans of Hatchet will be overly satisfied with this revived enthusiasm laid into the recordings. Says Ramos, “the faster, thrashier tracks hit harder than ever before, while the melodic stuff is catchier and we've even experimented with some heavier, slower tempos."

He continues: "Being in a touring band is not all fun and parties, and it takes a very special discipline. These guys all want to tour and have extensive road experience from their other projects. They have all shown great enthusiasm and commitment the past month with the recording of the new album, and despite the tight time frame, I was pleasantly surprised at how much everyone's contributions really made the songs shine and all of the new members' musical personalities are represented in the sound. I absolutely can't wait to release this album. This is going to be the strongest album yet!”

Dark Funeral have added some new additions to it's line-up with a new vocalist and bassist, their new frontman vocalist is Heljarmadr and bassist is Natt.

Heljarmadr - www.facebook.com/Heljarmadr666

With roots in the second half of the 90's black metal scene and in bands such as highly respected GRA, DOMGARD and CURSED 13, comes a raw force from the underground.

Known as a fierce frontman, both onstage and on recordings with his previous bands, he will now step up and claim a seat in the throne room of DARK FUNERAL to inflict deep scars in the black metal scene. The name Heljarmadr derives from old Scandinavian languages, simply meaning "a man belonging to hell".

With long time experience in the arts of creating dark satanic music, he will play a key role in shaping the future vocal and lyrical direction of DARK FUNERAL. Expect nothing but excellence, pure darkness and uncompromising evil!

Natt - www.facebook.com/pages/Natt-Dark-Funeral/379533948880078

Treading into this world, Natt has always had a strong, deep interest in music and the arts of the great unknown.

Spending time during the nights, exploring the Swedish ancient forests, avoiding the common mass that wanders this simplistic world, he made his relations and visions to that which lies beyond, stronger.

Before DARK FUNERAL, Natt was a member of the black/thrash metal band ANGREPP where he met his now close friends Adrian Lawson (ANGREPP, IXXI) and Fredrik Widigs (THE UGLY, MARDUK) and later on joined the deeply devoted Black Metal act, WITHERSHIN.

Natt: "Since the beginning of my time, here, in this world, there has always been, a strong connection, towards the isolated parts of the soul, a connection within and beyond. A connection to what can not be seen, nor heard. To everything and nothing. To what is, and what is not, and that which lies between. Outside the borders of this life. Beyond, yet within the acausal flame, in the night, I dwell, beyond the broken circle, outside of the causal mundane, yet not."

With these new members joining the band's ranks, DARK FUNERAL opens the gates to a new chapter of furious, intense and merciless black metal.

Capture The Crown recently lost both their guitarist and drummer and now the rest of the band all but the vocalist have called it quits. These guys were signed to Sumerian Records then went onto Artery and of course released albums, toured and more. But now the vocalist has enlisted all new members to fill in the gaps and continue onward. The following has been said about this incident.

"Word is starting to get around that there have been changes made to Capture the Crown's lineup. This is true, but what is also true is that we are looking forward and moving ahead full force onto the next, bigger & better chapter of Capture The Crown.

Kris Sheehan, Jye Menzies & Tyler March are no longer a part of CTC and we wish them all the best in their future eendeavors

This band started touring in late 2012. Since the beginning not a single member has made a single cent. From day one, the band has been in copious amounts of debt. Factors contributing to the debt: the big one is relocating from Australia to the United States. Moving a touring band across the world is a very serious undertaking and a lot of money is used in the process, think of it as a start up investment. Along with relocating, unfortunate luck with reoccurring vehicle issues on top of numerous other factors have not put us into a great place financially. With that said, not being paid or seeing any financial gains for almost 3 years is extremely rough! I would like to think that this is a HUGE contributor to the departure of these members."

Farewell, My Love have just released the following message in regards to former members departing the band while also getting some all new ones.

"Hello everyone,

We have a few announcements we would like to make...

First off, we are upset to say we have parted ways with our bass player Gary Grant. It was a mutual decision made by both parties and we wish him all the best and ask that you all support him in his new project. He will be missed but we all have to go through changes in order to grow, and we wish him all the best!

On that note, we are proud to announce Charlee Conley into the mix as the new bass player of Farewell, My Love. Coming to us from California and his former band Stitched Up Heart, his drive and musical talent is helping to take the band up a notch as we prepare to hit the road and studio.

Lastly, we have also brought on Logan Thayer as a second guitar player. His versatility brings new influences to the table, both live and in the studio ensuring that we bring you guys the best possible FML we can be!

We are stoked to have these guys with us and encourage you all to add our new members and get to know them! They are great guys and really bring a lot to the table!!!

Finally, we would like to thank you, the fans, for your endless support. We appreciate you all so much as we come out of these difficult changes and cannot wait to see you on tour this year in support of our upcoming records!!! <#

Sincerely,
Röbby Creasey & Chad Kowal"
