Thrash metal legends DEATH ANGEL have returned to lay waste to 2025 with their colossal new single ‘Cult of the Used.’ Their 2nd new song in 6 years, is intense pit fuel that that ignites into a blaze with the band’s unmistakable chugging rhythm and break neck riffs. The track is accompanied by an astounding animated video created by Tamara Llenas of Aimed and Framed.

Fendie Daywalker did a stellar job illustrating the Cult Leader ~ beckoning his blinded followers who remain in trance by his strangely charismatic facade, enchanted by the vibrant colors, mesmerized by his stare.

We wanted to release this song to coincide with our ACT III US Tour which kicks off on November 26th in Denver and concludes with 2 nights at The Fillmore in San Francisco on December 18th and 19th for our 10th Annual ‘Another Death Angel Xmas Show(s).’  We haven’t headlined in the states since 2019 so we wanted to make it extra extra!  Of course we’re excited to include Cult Of The Used in our setlist when we hit the road this month.”

Ferocious metal upstarts LIONS AT THE GATE will hit the road this fall as part of DEATH ANGEL’s highly anticipated North American tour. The 17-date run kicks off November 26 in Denver, CO, and concludes December 17 in Los Angeles, CA, promising an unforgettable lineup of thrash, groove, and sonic brutality.

Joining the tour as direct support is the explosive TOXIC HOLOCAUST, with rising thrashers MISFIRE opening each night. When LIONS AT THE GATE take the stage, they'll bring their signature fusion of aggressive grooves, melodic hooks, and impassioned intensity to fans across the country.

At the start of the New Year that is currently 2025, Northern Californian’s Exodus would announce two California showcases for the late spring/early summer time frame. These shows taking place in Berkeley, California April 25th and Anaheim, California April 26th. These two special California shows would be in celebration of the 40th anniversary of their debut album “Bonded By Blood”, released back in 1984! But not only would these shows be in celebration of an anniversary of sorts but a birthday as well, celebrating the 65th birthday of the band’s original vocalist Paul Baloff, who had died of a stroke back in 2002. These set of shows being set around that singer’s birthday of April 25th, what a better way than to celebrate with some showcases, the Anaheim one would feature thrash iconics Death Angel, along with Hirax, and Nukem!

Grabbing tickets just in time, with an added VIP bonus, getting access to the balcony section of the Anaheim House Of Blues was sure a treat, with lots of tricks done by the bands tonight. Lines were forming around the outside of the venue, one for main entry, fast lane, and VIP lines were slowly forming every which way. VIP would be admitted, then all else, once inside, drinks and some food was available in one of the many rooms, with the main music hall being in the next room. After getting up to the second floor, passing through one of the former rooms, making way into the music hall, and getting seated was flawless.

Getting some grub and drinks, the show would start at 7PM, the opening band being thrash Californians Nukem, kicking off the night with such energy it made the crowd purely overjoyed. The slowly forming crowd, would gather around, headbanging, jumping, and running in the mosh pit, showing their love for this particular band. Their performance was captivating and highly entertaining, making their momentum being nothing but music! Even the vocalist said they were going to do nothing but play and not talk and that is how it turned out. The crowd has fun, and so did the band so both sides won.

NUKEM:


Next up would be thrashers Hirax, who rarely play shows as it is sadly. But once they hit the stage next roughly around 7:45PMish, things would go insane! Everyone on the floor would erupted with crowd surfing, stage diver, mosh pit craziness, and total chaos from all sorts. The crowd could not get enough of the angst and energy that came from these guys. Having a recent line-up change and new album release, Hirax threw together a show tonight that made everyone want so much more, but it could not happen sadly enough. But they did not disappoint, being the one’s that tore the place down, getting everybody upstairs and downstairs overly excited and never wanting it to end.

HIRAX:


Following would be thrash icons Death Angel, performing for an hour straight of nothing but headbanging goodness. Their set had the vocalist jumping up and down, to singing his lungs out, giving such a performance it was unbelievable. Such energy was floored literally upon the said floor by the crowd, so much mosh pit action taking place, the band gave it their all. Lots of fast paced momentum that it made their performance that more energetic. They brought a mix bag of material played, with everyone wanting so much more, it made the performance that much more fun.

DEATH ANGEL:


Ending off the evening would be thrashers Exodus, celebrating of course, that they would play working’s off their album “Bonded By Blood”, along with other hits, that again the whole room was into them. Such fierce energy was set off, even the band’s own beach ball’s were thrown into the crowd at the end, everyone being joyous about them, that they were tossed all over the place. So much circular mosh pit action was happening as well, it made their performance amazing to witness. This band was so enchanting that even their merchandise line was out the door. That is how much fun these guys tend to be with their thrashy goodness. It is also worth noting that one of their other vocalists that has filled in named Rob Dukes, made a comeback to take over once more. He didn’t expect it to happen yet hre is is back again and tonight he brought it. Such fierce high powerful angst of energy that it felt good seeing Exodus with him again, not seeing him play with the band since back in 2010.

Overall nothing but thrash metal to entertaining the night’s never ending evening. All the bands outdid one another, making the crowd begging for more. It was fun, flawless and endless that this night felt so special in more ways than one.

Thrash legends DEATH ANGEL are back with their first new music in 6 years! In anticipation for their upcoming summer Summer of Wrath European Tour, the band has released a brand new song called ‘Wrath (Bring Fire).’ The blistering new track and visualizer (created by Tamara Lienas of Aimed & Framed) are streaming now on all digital services!

Commenting on the new track vocalist Mark Osegueda says:

“‘Wrath(Bring Fire)’ is the first Death Angel song featuring the whole band to be released since our 2019 Grammy nominated album Humanicide. This song was however written during the pandemic.

I wrote the lyrics and melody to this song in January of 2021. During that time I was, as all of us were, stuck at home lost, angry and very confused. I was also watching way more television than I usually had. One genre being medieval/fantasy shows which were kind of new to me as an adult. Yet! Were very popular during that time. Which makes sense in retrospect. We all needed some new forms of escapism from the worldwide Hell that we were all going through..That being said..It was partially what inspired these lyrics. An ancient/medieval fantasy end of the world war meets my actual approach in disputes..That can unfortunately, for all involved, turn very ugly if I’m pushed to a certain level or place  when I feel I’m being wronged!

And.. As always for me.. Pen doesn’t hit the paper until I hear the music and that paints a picture and inspires a vision that ends up being my lyrics. And the music Rob wrote for this and the fantasy/medieval based shows I was watching at that time and the personal hell that I was going through, figuring out who the hell I was during that awful time in our collective history and marrying that with my true personal aggressions and fury that I still fight with to this very day when I feel I’ve been wronged inspired this song! And it does still happen to me and I’m sure all of us. It definitely still happens to me to this very day! Sometimes it still does by those that are supposed to be closest to me that think they must be more clever than me. When in actuality…They are just deceitful and so easily read.

Well..For those of you who can relate to this subject. Which I assume is most of us! This song is for you! Because if you are foolish enough to try to take advantage of me once or continually..To quote Al Capone: ’Don't mistake my kindness for weakness. I am kind to everyone, but when someone is unkind to me, weakness is not what you are going to remember about me.’

That being said..When I come I’ll bring FIRE!!”

Shapes, colors, exercise, spelling, and the human body somewhat, was what was taught tonight. Taking place on a Saturday night at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles, was the Klash of the Titans Tour, with Spirit World, Death Angel, Sepultura and Kreator! But tonight I’d have caught only the last two co-headliners Sepultura and Kreator.

Arriving at the venue around 8:30PMish, Sepultura were just finishing up setting up for their performance, and about five minutes later, they would take the stage, performing for the next hour straight! The packed venue due to the show being completely sold out, if not over sold, had the downstairs as well as upstairs filled to the brim with people. Security being seen only here and there throughout, with some fans standing in the walk way to get to the mezzanine and balcony area’s, other fans sitting on the stairs, to those already in seats standing up blocking views of others.

Sepultura was performing just fine, but the fans were not acting right throughout really. Indeed they were excited, cheering, shouting, singing-along, headbanging, just energized for the whole performance. The band themselves did keep that energy and momentum up, as the fans eagerly kept it flowing, getting enthralled with angst about the old material and new material as well. All in all though, the band even with its changes to those fans who may or may not like this line-up, did do a good job, and kept the hype up rather nicely. So much so, that a majority of the crowd even left after their set was over with, that’s how much of the room was feeling how great that performance really was like. But it is worth mentioning that Sepultura did teach the crowd the way of colors and exercise, as the frontman did jump up and down quite a bit, and the light show was filled with red, blue, green, yellow, purple, pink practically the rainbow! Some of the songs sung would include “Kairos” “Guardians of Earth” “Agony of Defeat”, “Arise” and “Roots Bloody Roots” to name off some of the stand out tracks this night.

Whereas headliners Kreator would be teaching the crowd about spelling and the human body except with the body of a demon! Perhaps even Satan himself, since the band did sing a song called “Satan Is Real”, along with other songs like “666-World Divided”, “Flag of Hate”, “Enemy of God”, “Hordes of Chaos (A Necrologue for the Elite)” and “Pleasure to Kill” to name off just some that grabbed the attention of the audience, a lot standing from their seats, to others blocking the walk ways to some even getting into it with the security refusing to leave. The band’s performance was so entertaining that the singer mistaken-ed tonight for Friday when it was a Saturday! During a lot of the songs they spelled out numerous words, and the giant demon looming over the band, kept it much more eerie.  But nevertheless, the band did have lots of fun, interacting with the crowd more than once, really wanting them to cheer and shout countless times.

All in all though, the performance from both co-headliners was indeed two great sets that kept the sold out audience at bay, but eager for more than what was offered, which was decent but perhaps just not enough.
