Metalcore, screamo act Blessthefall has had it's line-changes when Craig Mabbit was once their frontman vocalist, now fronting Escape The Fate as of 2008ish time frame. Since then the band has moved on releasing seven albums, taking some hiatus' in-between with them finally returning sometime later, with their latest seventh album titled "Gallows", they would embark on a headlining run alongside Colorblind, Dark Divine, and Miss May I.
The tour would wrap up with its final stops hitting California out in Orange County, performing in Santa Ana at The Observatory venue, to a sold out crowd by the looks of it once inside. The doors would open around 6PM, but having arrived late due to traffic, catching the second band to play would be dark alternative metal rockers Dark Divine.
Dark Divine blending that alternative, melodic, metalcore style, with dark elements with lyrics and themes, their stage presence created a scary environment for the audience. Everyone there being sucked into the performance, with lots of crowd interaction with phone lights, hand waving, singing along, to movement in the pit, it was pure chaotic fun. Their music being catchy, creative, and intense, it made for such a scary good time. They are one to check out next time they come to town.
DARK DIVINE:
Following them would be Miss May I, another band that has seen some minor line-up changes in time, releasing seven albums to date, with some new music played during this performance tonight. The crowd was really into their performance, creating such havok it made for such rowdiness it was priceless. Their music is metalcore mixed with screamo, some heavy guitars, drums, and even heavier vocals at times, with some clean vocalization at times as well. They provide such energy throughout their performance it made such fun to catch for the first time live.
MISS MAY I:
Lastly would be metalcore screamo group Blessthefall, whom I had not seen since the Taste Of Chaos Tour 2008 edition, when they were performing with their bassist/vocalist filing in as the main vocalist at the time if I recall correctly. Since then, the band has gone on to tour, release albums, and now 17 years later, I would get the chance to see them live once again. This performance mind you was a tad intense, having my anxiety hit up at times, because last time seeing them was so long ago it felt eerie seeing them once more. But it was worth it, their performance being tense yet energetic. The songs both old and new combined well with the crowd of on lookers, everyone getting into the vibes feeling outward. They give off such a good performance, seeing them once is worth it. Maybe next time around it won't take me so long but catching these guys again after all this time felt so right.
BLESSTHEFALL:
All in all, this tour and seeing Blessthefall all these years later, brought back such fondness and memories of my past, it made tonight that more memorable and so much fun.
