TOOL return to the road this Fall, expanding on their recently announced festival appearances (Power Trip, Aftershock and Louder Than Life) with an additional six weeks of performances, including the band’s first Canadian dates since 2019.

The tour announcement follows TOOL’s debut live performances of 2023, headlining both Welcome to Rockville and the Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival in recent weeks.

A tour reunion that is over two decades in the making will return this Fall. In 1999, metal legends Sevendust, Static-X, & DOPE were each exploding onto the scene, while pairing up to create one of the most memorable tours of the year. Fast forward to 2023 and this incredible tour package is primed to deliver a super-charged evening of unforgettable music for newfound and lifelong fans of this resurging genre. 

The Machine Killer Tour co-headlined by Static-X & Sevendust is named after the GOLD certified sophomore album Machine by Static-X and their recently acclaimed Rise Of The Machine tour, along with the upcoming fourteenth studio album from Sevendust, Truth Killer. The 21-city tour will kick off on October 6th in Houston, TX. Along the way, the tour will make stops in the Sevendust hometown of Atlanta, GA (October 10), Detroit, MI (October 17), Kansas City, MO (October 23) and others before wrapping up in the Static-X hometown of Los Angeles, CA (November 1). Rockers DOPE (who also participated in the 1999 tour) and newcomers Lines of Loyalty will act as support for The Machine Killer Tour.

“We are excited to bring the fans an even bigger and better show than the last one” says Xer0. “We are already building the new production elements and we intend to blow the roofs off of these venues each night.”

“We can’t wait to hit the road with our friends in Static-X and DOPE. It has been 24 years since the last time we have shared a stage with those guys. We can’t wait to do it again this Fall and to bring together all of our family members together in one place,” explains Lajon Witherspoon.

The new full-length, 'The Poison Chalice', drops tomorrow, June 9, 2023 via Napalm Records.

“Contamination” takes no prisoners – the track attacks mercilessly and kills everything in its path. With this release, the band once again proves that they are at the top of the scene. As shown during the live premiere of the song at Rock Hard festival, fans can look forward to their furious sets at the biggest metal festivals this summer, such as Wacken, Summer Breeze and Graspop.

“'Contamination' deals with the appearance of a new plague, a manifestation of one of the horsemen of the apocalypse. A rapidly spreading, horribly lethal disease causes dilemmas and ruthless restrictions. Mass death occurs and societies collapse, deprived from their commodities. The title for this song was already floating around for previous albums, but never made it, so it was not directly inspired by the Corona pandemic. It is fair to assume more and perhaps more gruesome plagues will come and cause havoc on mankind. Remember the mass death during the ages of the black plague.”

Hatebreed will return to the road this September and you do NOT want to miss it. "20 Years of Brutality" Tour kicks off on September 3, 2023 in Quebec and will run through September 24, 2023 in Tampa.

Terror, Vein.FM, and Jesus Piece will serve as special guests. "It's hard to believe that it's been 20 years since the release of The Rise of Brutality album," says singer Jamey Jasta. "These songs are always fun to play and we're looking forward to adding some of them to the set that we've previously either never or rarely played live. Plus, it's always a bonus having Terror on the tour along with Vein.fm and Jesus Piece. This will make this tour an event not to be missed!"

North American gothic metal fans were met with cause for elation last week, when genre-leading outfits BLACK VEIL BRIDES & VV (Ville Valo) announced an epic co-headlining tour for autumn of this year. The announcement has proven to be an omen of what is still to come, as today, Black Veil Brides have released their cover of the Sisters of Mercy classic, “Temple of Love” featuring VV!

Leading with foreboding organs that quickly kick into a dark double time pace, the track tells tales of the perils of love in gothic storms, and bades the listener beware the wrought elegance it weaves. With an ominous tone, “Temple of Love” is the solemn backdrop to which these love metal paragons begin their union and sets the unholy couple off on their upcoming concert tour.

"I first discovered Sisters of Mercy in my freshman year of high school, I had a poster of AFI from the 'Art of Drowning' era and Davey was wearing a SOM shirt and so as was often the case back then I went on the hunt to find the music that had inspired my favorite musicians. The very first song I heard by SOM was the ‘92 version of ‘Temple of Love’ and I became obsessed with their entire catalog. We’ve talked about doing a BVB version of this song for years and when given the opportunity to collaborate with fellow SOM fan and goth rock icon VV, it seems liked the perfect situation. A darkly romantic icon himself, VV (Ville Valo), frontman for Love Metal pioneers HIM, casts a long and pervasive shadow that is still delightedly out of step with the status quo. VV’s recently released debut solo album, ‘Neon Noir’ belongs to the same forlorn world of woe and whimsy once conceived and governed by Valo in HIM, but with the nuanced notes of a finely aged Cabernet.

Southern Californian melodic death shredders EXMORTUS have released the third single, "Beyond The Grave," from their massively anticipated 6th studio album, "Necrophony," that's due August 25th from Nuclear Blast Records. The face-melting new track is a sonic fist-to-the-face, replete with thrashing guitar riffs, blistering solos and monstrous vocals that attest to why the band remains one of the fiercest bands in underground metal. Swedish heavy metal band, Sabaton, has launched a worldwide museum project entitled “History Rocks”. At the centre of this project stands the band’s new animated film, “The War To End All Wars - The Movie”, which is to be screened by participating museums spanning the globe around Armistice Day on November 11, 2023. 

“History Rocks” is a charity initiative that aims to raise awareness of the importance of history and encourage more people to visit their local museums. Sabaton is inviting museums, both big and small, to be part of this world premiere of “The War To End All Wars – The Movie” at no cost. The only requirement is to be equipped with the appropriate facilities and audio-visual equipment to host the screening.

Commenting on the project was Sabaton’s manager and bass player, Pär Sundström: “We are excited to launch this project! We believe that by screening “The War To End All Wars - The Movie” in museums around the world, we can inspire people to appreciate the importance of preserving and learning about our history. And what better way is there to do this than by infusing history education with an entertaining, adrenaline-fuelled animated movie?”

Pär added: “It’s also a fantastic way to persuade a brand new audience to visit their local museums. Museums are really important to us as a band, especially military and history-focused museums – we have learned so much from them. We want the world to be curious and would love for people to genuinely want to learn about the past. The only way we grow as human beings is by learning about days gone by and appreciating the sacrifices that have been made for us to live the way we do.”

Even before the launch of the campaign, a handful of museums have already confirmed their participation in the global premiere of "The War To End All Wars - The Movie." These include:
