Destruction Brings a Diabolical Madness to the City of LA
Well 2021 had seen me go to a theme park out in San Diego called Legoland where I caught pop rock act Kids Imagine Nation play, thanks to a contest I had won. But since then no other type of experience from a concert perceptive had taken place since 2020 for me. Tonight in Los Angeles out in the outskirts of Downtown Los Angeles, at the 1720 warehouse venue where I had ventured before, is where I would return to capture Germany's own thrash titans Destruction! It being 7 years since seeing them last way back when in 2015 when they were co-headliner's with Sepultura. This time though Destruction would be the headliner's taking part in what they titled the "Diabolical North American Tour 2022". This touring trek taking alongside them Brazilian band Nervosa, as well as other acts such as Sunlord and VX36.
Having gotten to the venue a tad late, I caught the last bits of Sunlord’s set and from what I heard and saw after entering the venue was quite good to say the least. But up next came Brazil’s own Nervosa, whom I had yet to ever see live, missing their previous appearances within California. But now was the time to witness their presence first hand, them seeing for an extensive 45 minutes! The setlist consisted of such tracks as “Perpetual Chaos”, “Guided by Evil”, “Blood Eagle”, off their latest album “Perpetual Chaos” released back in 2021. Other tracks from previous works included "Into Moshpit", "Kill the Silence", Masked Betrayer" and "Under Ruins", all of which caused the mosh pit to bust within! Literally everyone within it went from left to right, circular to every which other way possible really, it erupted in pure chaos! Fans new and possibly old did be entertained by the all female group that is Nervosa. Their presents as a whole brought the fun, energy and excitement Los Angeles had lost from the two years prior. Surely a band to be seen again and again in the future.
NERVOSA:
Next were the headliner’s of the night Germany’s own Destruction! Opening the set up came the track “Under the Spell”, followed by “Diabolical” the title track of their newest album, with tracks following suite called “Death Trap”, and “Nailed to the Cross”. This foursome of material caused the chaos from before to really explode, as all there cheered and shouted, fists and metal horns raised high above their heads, each fan singing along if not pushing one another in the mosh pit never slowing down.
DESTRUCTION:
The setlist continued with other tracks like “Mad Butcher”, “Born to Perish”, “No Faith In Humanity”, Tormentor”, “The Butcher Strikes Back”, “Curse the Gods”, “Thrash to Death” and “Bestial Invasion”. These tracks really setting off the entire room really, the mosh pit especially being thrown for a loop, as non-stop movement was consistent. I myself jumping into the mix of things, enjoying myself rather nicely, headbanging along to the tunes, and hoping along as well within the walls of the mosh pit itself at times. It was a beloved experience that kept the rush in me alive and well.

Destruction did interact with the audience throughout their performance at times, celebrating that being back in Los Angeles felt so good after two long years, everyone else there, myself included roared with approval. Whilst face masks and the pandemic at hand may still be among-st the mists of the world, it did not prevent metal fans from being thrashed to the bitter end of this tormented night of souls that needed a release of energetic proportions.

For LORNA SHORE, 2020 was nothing short of a reckoning – in a career built on challenges, changes and a single-minded vision. For the New Jersey quintet, 2020 signaled the pandemic and cancelled tours. The following year presented the band with a staggering creative challenge in the form of the song, “To the Hellfire” from their hugely well-regarded EP …And I Return to Nothingness. Yet, through it all, they upped their sonic ante with their upcoming album, Pain Remains, that not only aligns with everything LORNA SHORE has hinted at but it also exceeds that – brutally and magnificently. “It feels like a rebirth of everything for us - the energy, the band, the morale,” says drummer Austin Archey.
Today marks the release of the band’s new single and first release off Pain Remains “Sun // Eater”. While the band has been performing the song live on the current “Chaos & Carnage Tour” it premiered on Jose Mangin's Sirius/XM Liquid Metal already. DECAPITATED Release New Single & Video "Just A Cigarette"

The release of the long-awaited new album Cancer Culture is getting closer and closer.
Across eight studio albums, DECAPITATED grew from the adolescent dream of teenagers from a small Central European town to one of the leaders of the metal genre. Each successive album has further expanded the band’s sound with genre-bending authenticity and integrity.
Today, we get yet another taste of what Cancer Culture has to offer, with their newest single “Just A Cigarette”.
Guitarist and songwriter Vogg comments on the song as follows: "'Just A Cigarette' is a powerful, epic, melodic death metal song about human life expectations and death. It was the first song I wrote for Cancer Culture, which shaped the whole album. To present the track even more and affect the listeners' senses, we wanted to deliver it with a great piece of art. For this occasion, we teamed up with the Polish artist Marcin Białas, who let us use his fantastic gravure prints, which we used in our video as well."
The official video for the new banger was filmed and directed by Marcin Halerz in Krakow, Poland.
The track is a technical death metal masterpiece, accompanied by a pure metal video!

The GFM Band, Gold, Frankincense, & Myrrh Releases New Video Single "Framing My Perception"
Today one of the newest signings to Rockfest Records, the vibrant and talented metal female three piece GFM, release their new music video for “Framing My Perception.” The EP, named after the track, is set to release on May 27th. The single showcases the bands unique abilities to mix their heavy metal sound with clean, melodic vocals and an unforgettable chorus. The music video depicts the battle of struggling with addiction within yourself and letting it take over, but rising above it and becoming stronger in the end.
“With this video, We wanted to portray the raw, honest truth of addiction. It’s not so much about the battle with the substance itself, but it’s about a persons past and the pain that comes along with it. In the darkest moments, sometimes it seems like the best option to drown out the pain and the memories. However, that will only hurt more in the long run. Wangelen Releases New Single!
Chilean Melodic Black Metal band Wangelen released their new single "Religion de la materia". The release was recorded in "Huichahue HD studio" and engineered by Nihil Records in Santiago-Chile.

Wangelen was formed in 2005 at Temuco, Araucania by Pillanche as a one-man band with several stable and guest musicians. During the years the band released 5 full length albums and made many experiments with their musical style - from Polyphonic Black Metal, Folk Metal and acoustics with orchestral arrangements.

ADDIKTH was formed in 2011 by guitarist Daniel in Moscow, but active work was started only in 2017 when a permanent lineup was formed and the band released their debut EP "“The New Sun” and “Against You All” in 2019. In 2020 the band released their last single “Crimson Sky”.
Black Veil Brides Releases New Video for "Born Again"
BLACK VEIL BRIDES are “Born Again.” Immediately following the conclusion of the sold-out Trinity Of Terror Tour across America, the band unveils the cinematic clip for “Born Again,” the fourth single from their latest album, The Phantom Tomorrow. Helmed by feature film and music video director Vicente Cordero (Cradle Of Filth, DevilDriver, David Hasselhoff) and produced in collaboration with occult luxury/streetwear masterminds MM Custom Fabrications, the evocative “Born Again” video arrives, appropriately, on Friday the 13th.
“This video was an opportunity to use the more macabre imagery we grew up loving as fans of classic horror movies,” explains Black Veil Brides frontman and founder Andy Biersack. It also offered a chance to further flesh out the immersive world of The Phantom Tomorrow, told in multiple companion mediums, including comic books, action figures, and of course, music videos.
“We show a bit of what goes on in the ‘9th Circle,’ which is the location in our Phantom Tomorrow storyline that exists as a plane of existence outside of reality,” says Andy. “It’s a more esoteric version of a fire-and-brimstone afterlife, but one that is directly attacking your daily life.”
