Sonik G or Sonik Garcia known for his early working's work his previous band Fallen Figures, later filling in temp for As Blood Runs Black, he has continued his pursuit with music. Going as far as releasing a solo album titled "Made In Los Angeles" released in 2020. In fact a time in which Los Angeles and the entire world was in a bit of a crisis at that time of year. But any who this release has 10 tracks upon it, including a very "nice" cover track of the pop idol icon group the Backstreet Boys titled "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)", heaviness, flawlessness, and just downright aggression. Another track worth mentioning would have to be "Hollywood (Defamation)", another heavy hitter, with straight up force, aggression provided by the vocal chords, instrumentation and just all else really. The song is catchy, upbeat and just packs it in that you can't but find yourself nodding your head to it. One of the tracks that has an interesting title to it is believe it or not titled "Fallen Figure". Now is this a track a tribute or connected to his previous band perhaps so. Like the others already discussed, this track has it's entertaining moments, vocalization is heavy, pitched well with the instrumentals done superbly well. Sonik himself expressed this about this album saying "It’s basis is about the city that build me and without haters I wouldn’t be the person I am today. Their words fueled my desire to prove them wrong." The rest of the album remains heavy with has it's moments with such tracks as "Hurricane" and "The World Keeps Turning", as well as the title track. These being heavy lifting material but has a light-sided effect, meaning they are heavy enduring but keep the works more mellow yet heavy if that makes sense. The trio of tracks mesh well and make the album as a whole, with the leftover tracks present contract this release as a finishing piece of art and just heaviness through and through. If you like the heavy with the light then think any modern deathcore band meets post-hardcore band such as Dayseeker.

Blind Man's Gun was formed in 2011 at Hamburg, Germany as a female fronted heavy rock and metal band by Nadine Meyer (Vocals) and Lars Springer (Guitars). The band released their debut EP "Helldorado" in 2013 and full length album "Beyond the Darkness" in 2016. In 2020 after the COVID situation appeared and the band decided to release several singles independently, waiting for better days to release their second full length album.

Indie pop soul act SLOMO CASINO have their upcoming EP out soon with the first single coming this fall. Lots of things are planned for the fall this year, including a couple of shows with the band hyped as can be for them with so much more in-store. The band talks of this below.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

The two of us (Jonny Ball & Jack Batchelor) are old friends, both graduates of Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute Of Performing Arts, and have had our fair share of experience playing in bands. For years we’ve toured the UK and Europe as part of separate outfits, supporting the likes of The Libertines, Mallory Knox, Feeder and Coheed and Cambria. Over the past year, we decided to channel our mutual enthusiasm for songwriting, started to make music together; with ideas often stemming from drunken voice memos being sent back and forth that you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy.. This exchange game quickly evolved into the DIY Indie Pop/Soul project now dubbed 'Slomo Casino’.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

We came up with the name sailing down a canal on a narrow boat at 4mph in thunder, lightning and torrential rain. Instead of taking a gamble with the crap weather, we moored up and turned the inside of the boat into a mini casino to pass the time. This was fun to begin with but there’s only so many games of ‘go fish’ a man can take. Our patience was tested, 48 hours seemed like a lifetime but it was worth it as the experience formed the name “SLOMO CASINO.”

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We’re a Manchester band and It’s got to be the most vibrant music scene In the world. Now its all opening up it’s the best place to be! 

4. How would you describe your style?

Indie-pop soul.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

The first single from our debut EP is coming out on 17th September. You can expect catchy melodies soulful twist, and an ear worm that you can’t shake.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

We’re always writing and as soon as our first EP comes out on 17th September we’re straight back into the studio to start the next one. And as we always say, it’ll be the best one yet! 

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We’ve got a couple of intimate acoustic shows planned and will be soon announcing a home show all coming autumn 2k21.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

After the EP comes out we are finishing off some covers of some of our favorite songs, and who knows - maybe a cheeky little Christmas number! The plan for 2k22 is to get back onto the road and release more music!

Our first single is due to be released on all platforms late September, so stay tuned! 

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

The most important thing to us is having a melody or a hook that someone can hold onto.

Up and coming artist ALANNA MATTY has two EPs, with all new music coming soon aside from the most recent single "Little Dreamer" being released recently. With covid still far from over, Alanna chats about it, her music, and what's up next for her and the rest of this year!

1. Please tell us about your musical history.

I’ve been a musician most of my life, from playing classical piano and performing in musicals as a kid, to eventually starting to write my own music and teaching myself guitar, music has always played a big part in my life.

2. What’s the origin of your artist name?

My actual last name is horrendous to pronounce, so I’ve been shortening it to Matty for many years, dating back to public school when it became a bit of a nickname.

3. Where are you based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local artists you could recommend?

I’m based in Toronto, Canada and the music scene is extremely active but also very competitive. There are many amazing artists here, too many to be able to single out any that I would recommend above others.

4. How would you describe your style?

I think the word chill is a little overused these days, but is also a great way to describe my style and arguably also my personality haha. Even when I write about subjects that make me angry or happy, they tend to come across laid back; like something you’d listen to while hiking through the woods, or driving home late at night.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

I’ve released two EPs and a full length album over the span of about twelve years. My first EP I released on my own in my final year of high school, and the full length album (which features a full band) came out at the tail end of college. I’m still really proud of the tracks on them, even as they come up on being almost a decade old; there are some more upbeat and hard hitting tracks on Ante Meridiem (the album) including A Song For My Love which is arguably one of my favorite tracks.

This Past Year EP and all of the singles since are much more laid back and intimate , but even if you go back to my older tunes, the honesty and genuine emotion in the lyrics and melody continue to be relatable and draw you in. 

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

Yes! I just released “Little Dreamer” in July but I have a few more singles planned for release over the next 6 months!

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

With COVID being what it is, I don’t have any shows or touring plans at the moment. As soon as things open up again and travel becomes possible (and safe!) I will be playing in person again. In the meantime I’ve been playing music Live 3-4 times a week on Twitch, which has been an incredible replacement while things are locked down, and something I plan to continue into the future.

8. What plans do you have for the future?

Touring, more music releases, collaborations, maybe getting another dog? I’d also perhaps like to learn how to play the drums someday haha

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

Probably that it’s all going to turn out okay. My music is melancholic, and that is something many people can relate to, and find themselves in, but I want them to feel all of those feelings and then know that there’s light on the other side, and things will work out just fine.

Reunited thrashers MANTIC RITUAL have signed with M-Theory Audio. New music from the reunited group – featuring original members Dan Wetmore (vocals/guitars), Jeff Potts (guitars), and Ben Mottsman (bass) alongside new drummer Carlos Cruz (Warbringer, Exmortus, Hexen) – will be released later this year, but the first taste of the new riffs to come will be unveiled with a live performance on Thursday, August 26th at Supply & Demand in Long Beach, CA.

"This is Dan Wetmore with the first Mantic Ritual news in over ten years! We have reunited and working on a new EP for later this year via our recent signing with M-Theory Audio. With over twelve original songs already written, this will set the path for an imminent full-length album next year. Reviving Mantic Ritual isn’t something we’re taking lightly, we intend to best our debut album, "Executioner" in every way. The new material is true to our roots in Heavy Metal, Thrash/Speed and Punk. This is in our blood and it’s time to share with everyone. The early beginnings of MANTIC RITUAL were birthed in the band's hometown of Pittsburgh in 2005. Performing initially under the name Meltdown, the group began building a buzz with Northeast heavy metal fans over the next two years with their combination of boundless thrash enthusiasm and superb songsmanship. The band moved across the country to Los Angeles in 2007, where performances alongside leaders of the budding Southern California thrash revival such as Warbringer, Fueled By Fire, and Merciless Death earned them attention from discerning metal audiences and a record deal with Nuclear Blast Records.

The group soon changed their name to MANTIC RITUAL, and released their first – and so far only – full-length record “Executioner” produced by Andy Classen (Asphyx, Tankard, Krisiun) in March 2009. The album received critical acclaim at the time of its release, with MetalSucks praising the band's “ability to display solid songcraft while maintaining a high-level of heaviness,” Blabbermouth taking note of their “passion, chemistry and intensity,” and the Washington Post noting that “MANTIC RITUAL’s old-school sensibilities act like a group hug that brings punks and headbangers together.”

MANTIC RITUAL followed up the release of “Executioner” with live touring alongside heavy metal titans such as Rotting Christ and Destruction, before dissolving in 2010. Potts and Mottsman later went on to join Warbringer for their 2013 release, “IV: Empires Collapse,” with Potts himself also performing on Gygax's 2018 release, “2nd Edition.” Potts, Mottsman, and Wetmore began writing and recording new music together - with Cruz (still a member of Warbringer) now joining them on drums – in the beginning of 2021.

The group's upcoming live performance on Thursday, August 26th at Supply & Demand in Long Beach, CA – their first since a one-off reunion at Thrasho De Mayo 2013 in Los Angeles - is only the beginning of this exciting new chapter in the story of MANTIC RITUAL. Derade was formed in 2017 at Huntingdon, England by Guy Radford (guitar) and Mark Radford (guitar). Later Richard Lee (vocals)  joined the band and the lineup was completed.

Melodic heavy metal band SIX FOOT SIX have a couple of album's out with merchandise as well. They like a few others will take part in this summer fest happening real soon, they talk of this and the newer material currently in the works.

1. So how did you get involved with being a part of the "Bloody News Online Fest: Insane Summer Gathering 2021"?

Hello! This is Kristoffer Göbel, singer and rhythm guitarist in Six Foot Six. We got in contact by Kostya Aronberg from Bloody News and he presented the online fest. We really liked the idea and said yes directly. 

 2. To those who may not be familiar with your band, can you give us a brief summary?

We are a Swedish Gothenburg based band. We have earlier been active in different bands such as Falconer, Art Nation, Destiny among others. Six Foot Six started as my solo project but during the mixing of the first album we formed the band. 

3. How would you describe your style?

Well.. I would say well produced classic heavy metal. Based on the vocals and a lot of harmonies. If you like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Metallica you will probably like us to.

4. What have you release so far and how can someone find your material online?

There are two albums available. “The Six Foot Six Project” - 2018, and “End of All” - 2020. You can find them on LP, CD, any streaming platform, YouTube and so on so forth. Simple question: You buy from bands to support them. Many of us work very hard to with little financial outcome of the work we put in. So to buy a CD, LP, T-shirt or so you put fuel to the fire of creating more music by showing you care and put interest in the band. 

6. How would you say you differ from other bands and artists on the scene?

Not sure we differ that much, ha ha. We just love playing our heavy metal music and we are very used to do live shows. We simply love to preform. 

7. What do you want to achieve as a band?

Get out more and perform our music for all metal heads in the world! We are constantly writing new material and we do our best to delivering the goods. 

8. What does this next year have in-store for you guys?

We will release our third album in 2022. Hopefully, if the situation of the world lets us, we will do a promotional tour on it.

Death thrashers PITCHBLACK have three album's and an EP out under their belts. But they are planning on performing at a summer fest that should really bring everyone together! The band then goes into discussion about touring, the fest, and their most recent works!

1. So how did you get involved with being a part of the "Bloody News Online Fest: Insane Summer Gathering 2021"?

They contacted us - we just released our third album last Fall, “Death and Disbelief” which was very well received by the press - so I guess it caught “the Bloody teams” attention. At the time they offered the online gig - we had a support tour for an other Danish act - “Whitering surface” which just got canceled due to corona - so we really appreciate getting this chance to promote our new album. Also it has been a true pleasure to work with the Blood news team, the seem very dedicated to what they do.

2. To those who may not be familiar with your band, can you give us a brief summary?

PitchBlack was formed in 2002 with an urge to play fast straight forward Death / Thrash - being true to our Scandinavian tradition of metal. To mention our greatest achievements we played the UK Download Festival - and our debut album received an MTV Danish metal award - for best debut album.

3. How would you describe your style?

As I just mentioned we play straight forward death thrash - our influences which I believe shines through in our music span from Pantera to Entombed.  Early on we got recognized as a Danish version of The Haunted - which was pretty unique because few Danish bands played this genre.

4. What have you release so far and how can someone find your material online?

We have released three albums and one EP, which can be streamed on iTunes, tidal, Spotify etc. You can also buy physical copies from targetshop - our labels distribution .

5. Why should someone buy your works?

Because our songs are fucking awesome - ha ha - Well if you are into the above specified kind of metal, and also like to get a little surprise now and then - in form of subtitle input from other genre - then PitchBlack is the shit for you.

6. How would you say you differ from other bands and artists on the scene?

We don't take our self too serious - I think we trying to give a very honest picture of the band and let the personality shine through - instead of trying to be boring perfect.

7. What do you want to achieve as a band?

We have toured a lot in our own region - we would really like to tour more abroad. But basically writing good songs and perform Them live - and when get the response from the fans during and after the show - is what keeps the engine running. 

8. What does this next year have in-store for you guys?

Due to corona we are a little behind promoting our album - so that is what awaits - now it seems like gigging is becoming possible again but we need to start over with the booking and see what comes up. Since we haven't toured with the last album yet - so it doesn't make sense writing new material - instead we are having fun jamming cover songs which we record quick and dirty and release on YouTube - just for fun and staying motivated and fit.
