It just so happens that every Labor Day weekend, a concert takes place out in Hollywood, California, down on the famous Sunset Strip at the Rainbow Bar and Grill. This year’s rendition of it, brought out some heavy metal and thrash metal acts together, such as Warbringer and co-headliners Accept and KK's Priest! Other acts played as well, but catching every single one was a tough spot to be in, with the crowd being in every which way possible, catching whoever you could was the best way out of it.

As such, arriving at the venue close to 3PM, seeing a line align the outside of the venue, it was hard to tell if the show had reached capacity or not, luckily it had not, so heading into this “free entry” event wasn’t exactly free, you were admitted entry with a two drink minimum of $15 each, so $30 per person, so getting in for that price was sort of a good deal. You could use those 2 drink tickets for 1 drink and 1 food item, including what was on the menu at the Rainbow Bar and Grill restaurant, or they had a stand outside with various drinks, and food options of burgers and pizza slices. Having gotten the chance to eat inside at the actual restaurant was a real treat.

After sometime had passed thrash metal locals Warbringer brought the rage with their 40 minute set, bringing the pit with them, as everyone there got into their set immediately! Mosh pit opened up, with people falling, loosing their shoes, to others having a good old time. The band kept the energy hyped and heavy throughout their set. Such songs played included “Living in a Whirlwind”, “Crushed Beneath the Tracks”, and “Living Weapon”. They brought the heat literally in the 80-90 degree weather for this outdoor gig, it was very intimidating to experience as a whole.

WARBRINGER:

Next up sometime later in the evening would be Accept whose performance was done well, except for the singer whose vocal tactics could be heard but not so well. Such songs were played like “Princess of the Dawn”, and fan favorite “Balls To The Wall”, with the whole crowd being into them, giving off a liking, to their antics and momentum given out. They are an act that everyone who was into metal was enjoying.

ACCEPT:

Lastly would be headliners KK’s Priest, having one of their members being a former member of Judas Priest, so of course, some of their songs were included in the set, as well as their own working’s like “Hellfire Thunderbolt”, “Reap the Whildwind”, “Raise Your Fists”, and Judas Priest songs like “Burn in Hell”, “Sinner”, and “Breaking the Law” to name off a few. Now their performance was solid, heavy duty, with a heavy metal classic style, think a modernized Judas Priest except with more fierce vocalization provided. They of course covering Judas Priest with a member of that band, made for them being just downright fun.

KK'S PRIEST:

All in all this backyard bash of an event was interesting enough. Would it be worth checking out as each year progresses, perhaps, depending on the line-up given. It is a fun miniature outdoor show, with acts that made this year’s outing a very fun one.

Heavy metal fans, prepare for the most electrifying tour of the year! Heavy metal frontrunners KK’S PRIEST - featuring Judas Priest alum and GRAMMY Award winning/nominated musicians K.K. Downing (guitar) and Tim “Ripper” Owens (vocals) - and Teutonic metal originators ACCEPT will join forces this fall 2024 for an unmissable North American tour! Both bands are touring in support of their brand new albums, out now via Napalm Records.

The massive run will begin on August 31 in Los Angeles, CA, visiting a slew of major cities in the USA and Canada - such as Toronto, ON, Montreal, QC, New York, NY and Nashville, TN - before coming to an end in San Francisco, CA on October 7.

 KK's PRIEST's K.K. Downing says:

"It's time!!! Let the full European metal assault commence, KK's Priest / Accept. Not since 1983 have we shared the same battleground. From Germany, from the UK, let the Flying Vs clash, let the metal fly! All in the name of defending our beloved heavy metal music, let the people come from all walks of life to witness the battle royal. There is no doubt that we warriors of metal will give every ounce of our energy and our power in order to deliver up our very finest performance. This is a spectacle not to be missed, and this is possibly the one and only time in history for you to witness this iconic duel. Who will be the victor? You will be the judge, let the music begin from early August to early October... The arena awaits!!"

ACCEPT's Wolf Hoffmann says:

“This tour with KK’s Priest is a dream come true for Accept and for me personally.

Accept supported Judas Priest back in the early 80s - it was our first ‘real’ international tour and Priest had been a huge influence on us.

I’m really looking forward to reconnecting with KK on this very special tour. It’s going to be epic! Don’t miss it!"

KK’S PRIEST - the iconic heavy metal amalgamation of iconic Judas Priest alum and GRAMMY Award winning/nominated musicians K.K. Downing (guitar) and Tim “Ripper” Owens (vocals), along with A.J. Mills (guitar), Tony Newton (bass) and Sean Elg (drums) - recently announced the upcoming release of their savage sophomore offering, The Sinner Rides Again, out September 29, 2023 via Napalm Records. On the heels of their highly-lauded 2021 debut album, Sermons Of The Sinner - which debuted within the Top 20 on charts in the United States, the UK, Germany, Sweden, Finland and more - KK’S PRIEST return to sin again!

Following up on the release of their blistering first single "One More Shot At Glory", today, KK’S PRIEST have unleashed another new track, this time entitled "Reap The Whirlwind", alongside another new music video! The electric opus is a classic heavy metal power thrust of soaring leads, hair-raising harmonics and earworm vocal hooks.

K.K. Downing says about "Reap The Whirlwind":

“'If you sow the wind, you will reap the whirlwind’ - this is a common phrase that has been familiar with me from a very young age. Obviously it’s very meaningful - it’s a warning that if you mistreat people, or really whatever you do in life, you need to be very careful, because whatever sufferance you inflict on anyone, it could come back to haunt you, and your suffering could be even more severe. Everyone knowingly or unknowingly has made the mistake of thinking they can get away with small misdemeanors to suit their selfish pursuits, but if justice is to be served, you will reap exactly what you sow. That is the message of this song."
