US-based death metal outfit ARSIS, reveal details surrounding its new studio album "Visitant", set to be released via Agonia Records (Europe / Rest Of The World) and Nuclear Blast Records (North / South / Central America) on November 2nd. Watch a music video for the album's first single, "Tricking The Gods", inspired by werewolf movies and directed by Rob Neilson of Savage Henry Films. The video is available at this link: https://youtu.be/mppYdPJLTQc.

Virginia Beach, VA's ARSIS, a standout in the technical, melodic death metal genre, has signed a worldwide record deal with Agonia Records, excluding North, South and Central America, in which the band will be released by Nuclear Blast Records. ARSIS has entered Audio Hammer Studio in Florida in late 2017 with producer Mark Lewis (Whitechapel, Devildriver, Cannibal Corpse) to begin work on their 6th studio album, follow-up to "Unwelcome" (2013).

ARSIS co-founder James Malone (central figure in the picture) commented: “We are really excited to have found a label partner outside of the Americas. Agonia works with some great bands and we are pleased to be working with them moving forward. We look forward to reaching some new ground with a new record in 2018. Stay tuned for details".

Who would have ever thought that an act of any sort would have surpassed 30 long years? In this case it was Brazillian/American metallers, Sepultura! Doing a celebration of sorts of their 30 year existence with the release of a new song dedicated to the fan base that has always been there called "Sepultura Under My Skin" as well as going on a 5-week trek of a tour alongside some supporting acts of all sorts and sizes!

The tour only being a 5 week trek as mentioned doesn't seem long to some but to Sepultura's guitarist Andreas he says it's just enough for the band to get themselves out there for the U.S. fans to witness. Thus the second day of this touring cycle has begun at the infamous Whisky A Go Go venue in Hollywood, California with a believe it or not but a sold out show! Yes this showcase was indeed sold out spanning a 6-hour night of acts, including 2 local acts which were Thrown Into Exile and New Eden. Thrown Into Exile brought upon their thrashy yet heavy metal styled inspirations while New Eden was that power metal act that kept the harmony of the music alive and well. New Eden have got that skill that kept the music highly entertaining let alone enlightening of sorts as well. All of the members a part of the act did their job, performing a solid set of songs with some stylish take on the music itself, being power metal except being more unique than the average power metal act.

New Eden:

After the local acts was the sorted set of acts that were a part of this tour, from Micawber, Boris The Blade, Arsis, and not one but two headliners Destruction and Sepultura themselves of course! Now the guys in Miawber played death metal and they played it right, the instrumentals were clean cut sounding, with the vocal chords not that far off either. Everyone within the band played their role the right way, making the music sound crisp, clear, and pretty darn perfect to boot. Whereas Boris The Blade mixture's blending of hardcore meets heavy metal, was heavy but could have been better off. Their presents with the audience on the other hand, was rather boring, not one person was really entertained by their set-up, surely the crowd did take a liking at times, even when the singer himself jumped into the crowd, to get the mosh pit up and running, the audience themselves were pleased but not as much as the acts before and after these guys. So case in point, better step up the game just a tad you guys in Boris The Blade, if you want the crowd to get interacting more effectively!

Micawber:

Arsis was next bringing on another douse of death metal adrenaline with their set list going rather quickly as the mosh pit picked up a bit, never really stopping it seemed. Everyone got pushed around no matter the area of space you were in. These guys did do a good job of performing though, the crowd was pleased and enjoyed their setlist from the start to the finish, these guys never being one to disappoint.

Arsis:

ARSIS SETLIST:

1. The Recently Deceased
2. We Are The Nightmare
3. The Sadistic Motives Behind Bereavement Letters
4.The Promise Of Never
5. Seven Whispers Fell Silent
6. Wholly Night

7. The Face Of My Innocence

Lastly were of course the two different headliners first up was German thrashers Destruction who really got everyone going at one another, everyone in the mosh pit, kept at it non-stop! Everywhere you looked people were jumping, headbanging, mosh pitting, it was a free for all entertainment time! The guys in Destruction never missing a beat, but continuing it on and on, it seemed that it would never end at times, but sadly it did. But in the end these guys always bring it when they hit L.A. There style is fast, heavy, catchy, and one that will keep you banging your head to every beat!

Destruction:

DESTRUCTION SETLIST:
1. Intro
2. Curse The Gods
3. Thrash Til Death
4. Nailed to the Cross
5. Mad Butcher
6. Armageddonizer
7. Eternal Ban
8. Carnivore
9. Invincible Force
10. The Butcher Strikes Back
11. Bestial Invasion
12. The Damned (Plasmatrics Cover)

Surely last but definitely not least was indeed Sepultura! These guys having been around for as long as they have were the act that everyone was waiting for and they brought it! What is "it"? It was the force, energy, and drive of their music and presents of being there, that got the crowd excited. The whole floor of the mosh pit opened up bigger than ever before, as everyone in there was running in a circle or pushing one another from side to side, it was an exciting and fun time to bear witness too!
As far as their setlist goes, a lot of the old and new material blended well together, they did sang that special dedication tune they made and dedicated in this setlist to the fans out there that night, the fans were pleased as could be and so were the band. The band themselves in this case, did a good job of performing, they jumped, walked around the stage, just getting their sweat, blood, and tears out there, really showcasing what they can do, still after all of these years and it shows pleasantly well.

Sepultura:

SEPULTURA SETLIST:
1. The Vatican
2. Kairos
3. Propaganda
4. Breed Apart
5. Manipulation of Tragedy
6. Mindwar
7. Convicted in Life
8. Attitude

15. The Curse
16. Bestial Devastation
17. Ratamahatta
18. Orgasmatron  (Motörhead Cover)
19. Polícia (Titãs Cover)
20. Roots Bloody Roots

All in all, Sepultura, and the rest of the acts being a part of this touring cycle was a bill not to be missed! Each act did their own thing to impress the crowd, showing off their musical skills in any way that they could and it showed, no matter which way you looked at it, the band up there, made everyone down there happy.

Virginia-based melodic tech-death metal masters ARSIS proudly announce the ten year anniversary tour commemorating the release of the band’s debut 2004 album A Celebration Of Guilt.  Presented by MetalSucks.net, the 19-date “A Decade Of Guilt” September tour through the U.S. and Canada will feature  ARSIS playing the album in its entirety. Colorado’s technical melodic death metallers ALLEGAEON will be direct support; opening each night will be Los Angeles’ technical melodic death thrashers EXMORTUS.

“Ten years ago, I was a full-time college student that was given an opportunity,” states ARSIS guitarist, songwriter, and founding member James Malone. “The musical project that I had been working on 'for fun' on breaks from school was asked to record a full-length album for a small independent record label. I had no idea at the time what the response would be to it or if there would be any response at all. Almost as soon as the album was released - much to my surprise - we were getting attention from around the world and my life was forever changed. That album was called ‘A Celebration Of Guilt’ and myself and everyone in ARSIS would like to celebrate its ten year anniversary by playing the album in its entirety on tour. Many of songs have not been played live in years, if ever. Here's to a decade of guilt and METAL!!!"

Scornstar", the new video from Virginia-based melodic tech-death metal masters ARSIS. The clip was directed by Scott Hansen, who has previously worked with UNEARTH, CARNIFEX and AS BLOOD RUNS BLACK, among others.

"When you film a metal video, and the special effects artists are actually excited about the amount of carnage, you know you've done it correctly," commented Hansen.

Added special FX guru Ryan Moore: "After recruiting a team of special-effects artists, including myself, David 'Bull' Watson, and Rebecca Tilner, 100 cutthroat ARSIS fans, we were ready to roll... well, almost. We still had to make 75 gallons of blood, acquire 15 lbs. of raw meat, air tanks to propel the bloody goodness everywhere, $500 bucks worth of FX supplies, and some 'homemade' explosives... THEN we were ready for destruction.

"The video is really unlike anything out, really. It's an homage to good old-fashioned '80s horror movie gore meets 'Heavy Metal Parking Lot'. Everyone had a blast, got trashed, and saturated in blood. The fans were total troopers, as expected; but even then I have to admit I was impressed with their eagerness to take part in some of the 'stunts.'

"This is definitely one of the must-see music videos of 2013 and will open a lot of eyes that a death metal video can be brutal, entertaining, and fun all at once."

Check out the video HERE.

As fans of--and having been inspired by--all of these bands, we're glad to be part of the lineup and can't wait to share the stage with these guys."

"Carve My Cross", the new video from Virginia-based melodic tech-death metal masters ARSIS, can be seen below. The song comes off the band's new EP, "Lepers Caress", which is available for free download via Scion Audio/Visual (a.k.a. Scion A/V), the in-house record label and lifestyle marketing division of the Scion marque produced by Toyota Motor Corporation for the North American market.

"The EP was put together quickly after we finished [the forthcoming ARSIS full-length album] 'Unwelcome'," said ARSIS bassist Noah Martin, "It gave us the opportunity to offer a brief statement of where our heads are at the moment. We revisited some of the oldest material in the ARSIS catalog as well as re-tracked a song off the upcoming full-length. Expect more three and four-part writing, thrash and blasts, and a string quartet arranged for a full band."

Virginia melodic death metal veteran, Arsis, has announced Shawn Priest as the full-time replacement for recently departed drummer, Mike VanDyne. Priest, who has toured with Arsis in the past, will be behind the kit for the band’s upcoming fifth studio album.

Commented Priest, “After several major tours with Arsis since 2008, I am more than happy to take the position of full-time drummer. These guys have become some of my best friends and based on the new material we've been putting together, I think the new record will be one of the best and most extreme Arsis releases to date. Get stoked people.”

“I am beyond thrilled with the pre-production for the new album and the addition of Shawn Priest on drums,” said guitarist/vocalist, James Malone. “Shawn has done many tours for Arsis and felt we it was time to give him the respect he deserves and bring him on as the full-time drummer. Shawn's input into the new songs has made them more intense than I could have ever imagined.”

“We weren't looking for a drummer who robotically plays a thousand miles an hour,” added bassist, Noah Martin. “Anyone who's seen us with Shawn knows he's capable of playing pretty much anything, but with tremendous feel. We've put him through hell, hiring him to fill in on multiple tours over the years, and we're glad we can welcome him to the fold.

“That being said, we understand and respect the decision Mike made, given the circumstances. I know I speak for all of us when I say it wasn't necessarily an easy one to make. His involvement helped get the band to where it is today, and we'll always miss playing with him.

“We have nine songs so far that we're continuing to tweak, and still tossing around ideas forcover tunes. We hope to create a pivotal album that sums up everything that Arsis was, is and will be.”

Arsis is currently in the pre-production stages of its impending full-length with producer, Mark Lewis. The new record will serve as the follow-up to 2010’s, Starve For The Devil (Nuclear Blast Records), with sold 1,800 copies in the United States in its first week of release, landing at #13 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart.

“I’m truly excited to be producing the new Arsis record,” said Lewis. “The new material I've been hearing from James is nothing short of awesome. I’m such a huge fan of A Celebration of Guilt, as well as A Diamond For Disease, which was produced by my Audiohammer colleague, Eyal Levi. This new material sees the band come full circle and I’m so stoked they've landed here at Audiohammer. It’s about time!”

The band has posted a updated pre-production version of the new track, “Choking On Sand,” online: http://soundcloud.com/nuclearblastrecords/arsis-choking-on-sand-updated to show off Priest’s punishing percussionary prowess, and to give fans a glimpse of what to expect on the upcoming album.

“I feel it is safe to say that this is going to be the most brutal Arsis album to date,” added Malone. “So excited!”

NIGHTRAGE have revealed the following statement about their upcoming 5th album entitled "Insidious" which will be released on September 26th in Europe and a day later in North America.

The new NIGHTRAGE album is ready! We are extremely happy with the results and we look forward to sharing this music with all of you. Here is the journey thus far:

We recorded the music at Zero Gravity studios on Athens, Greece with our great friend Terry Nikas at the helm. He did a fantastic job and provided us with an amazing environment and atmosphere to make the best record possible.

Antony had the pleasure as well to work on the vocals in a very different setting with Ryan Butler at his Arcane Digital Recording studio in Arizona. Ryan has been assisting us with demo sessions since the last album and it felt very natural for us to try the final product with him. We then went to Studio Fredman located in Gothenburg Sweden for the mix and master. Our longtime producer Fredrik Nordstrom and Henrik Udd worked long and hard to make the best out of what we gave them.

We have recorded sixteen songs overall, and as we promised before our guest players actually need no introduction.
