Toy company Playhut has taken on the theme that a lot of other toy manufactures have done lately with their own release of dolls called "Mystixx the Vampires". This new line features four girls who aren't your ordinary set of girls but are of the undead they are vampires.

The girls go by the names of Azra, Kalani, Siva, and Talin. Azra and Kalani are currently available right now while Talin and Siva will be available soon. Azra is the type of girl who loves being outdoors and is the very competitive type who drives on being the best in anything she puts herself into whether it'd be on the school's basketball court to soccer field to the tennis courts she takes it head on. But her pride and joy is snowboarding where you will always find her riding the slopes. She keeps an adventurous spirit that keeps her interests at bay while also being very direct she always says what's on her mind often getting her into mischief if not serious trouble this leads to having her hurt other's feelings. But overall she is a friend you can always count upon no matter what. The doll itself comes with 1 doll that's slightly bigger than Mattel's Monster High doll line, while also coming with not one but two different wigs and outfits, and several accessories that includes 1 hair brush among other items. But that's not all these dolls can do the doll figure itself has a twist of a mind if you will, the doll's head and face is two-faced yes you can twist the head around and have a doll with two different faces hence the motto on the box of "Change her from a girl to a vampire".



 Now Kalani is a strict vegetarian girl who only eats the greens when it comes to veggies. But she also loves school and is extremely smart. Before even entering high school her parents who are professors had home schooled her but knew she needed a social lifestyle as well so enrolled her in typical educational fashion. She is a typical shy but nerdy girl who is often quiet and thoughtful feeling the most comfy when in a classroom or while reading a good book. While her shy personality and highly intelligence scares others off while at school she just pulls through each and every day that pops up. But secretly enough she is jealous of all of the popular girls at school and would rather be like them especially when it comes to being around the boys. Her doll also comes with 1 doll with two different outfits and wigs to mix and match with. Also coming with 1 hair brush and various other accessories to pick from. While her head too also has the twisting feature with the two faced option that keeps this girl high spirited with edge.

All in all these Mystixx the Vampires are the new ghouls in town and are here to show off their vampy struts. For the fans of Mattel's Monster High, MGA Entertainment's Novi Stars, Bratz and Bratzillaz's  and Jakks Pacific's Winx Club!

Finland's goth scene couldn't be better since The 69 Eyes hit the streets way back when. Now years later they have gotten on to release their tenth album to date simply titled "X". This darkened hard rock stride is downright classic with songs including hit single "Red" among other catchy gloomy tunes "I Love the Darkness in You", "I Know What You Did Last Summer", and "If You Love Me the Morning After". 

A lot of comparisons are met while others are eerie but creepy cool. For instance "If You Love Me the Morning After" is quite comparable to HIM having frontman Jyrki 69's vocals do a shifting effect of being passionate to soulful while the crackle of the guitar riffs offer more so that makes the listen more wholesome.

While hit single "Red", lays out what this album has to offer this vampiric rock melody stays true to the classic goth styling's that The 69 Eyes is known for over the course of their careers. The melodic vocal lines and lyrics are spot on. "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and "I Love the Darkness in You" collide with one another having an upbeat melody that keeps the tunes right on the beat while the album splits up to having a mellow factor first hand and the second portion is more on edge.

The 69 Eyes have stayed true to their classical roots uplifting them  from the ground up keeping the darkness alive and well.

My Chemical Romance, who has been busy all summer working on their brand new album, has announced ANOTHER new album called Conventional Weapons which will feature the songs from their 2009 sessions that got scrapped before they began working on their last album Danger Days. The band will be releasing 2 new songs each month for the next 5 months starting in October! More details coming soon. Check out Frank Iero's full statement below!

Please allow me to take a trip down memory avenue for just a minute…. in the year 2008 it was the best of times, it was the worst of times…after years of constant work and travel, The Black Parade had come and gone, and as a band My Chemical Romance had achieved almost every goal we had set for it. Records were sold, doors were kicked in, enemies made and vanquished…I really felt we had made a difference. If there was ever a time to run the credits, call it a day and go out on top …this was it. But here we were, still relatively young and a wide open future seemed to be a blessing and a curse when wondering ‘what the hell comes next?’ A large percentage of my being was convinced the band was over at that point, and so, as it does, depression crept it’s way in.

I have grown up and spent most of my early adulthood being in this band, the thought of that chapter closing was a harsh pill to swallow. But that November I got a call from Gerard that snapped me out of it. We talked for awhile about the band, about why we loved and hated it. We left the conversation with promises to to communicate and plans for a new record in place. In the coming months we forged ahead. Ideas started to take shape….there were conversations about what the songs should sound like, the trading of mix tapes for inspiration, and finally flights were booked to our adopted home of Los Angeles for pre-production.

Looking back to that first phone call, what I think we meant to say to one another was “I miss you. I like making music with you, and in spite of all the other shit that comes with it, good and bad, I still wanna do that.” When you’re in a band for as long as we have been and you’ve reached a certain ‘level’…sometimes all you know how to do is make records. You tend to forget how to do the simple stuff. Like just connect with your friends and make music. No rules, no expectations. Hindsight being 20/20, maybe we should have just locked ourselves in a room and made a bunch of noise until we were inspired to collectively say something on a record. That’s not what ended up happening. Instead we planned on making a specific kind of record, we wrote songs to fit that specific plan, and then we flogged ourselves for it not feeling right, organic, or complete.

After almost a year of beating ourselves up, we ended up shelving those ill-fated songs, and reconnected with Rob Cavallo and Doug McKean to salvage our band and make what would become Danger Days.

To kill the misconception, I don’t think the songs we wrote before Danger Days are bad songs by any means. In fact, I kinda think some of them are among my favorites we have ever written. A lot of them are kinda fucking rad….they just so happened to have been created in the wrong place, at the wrong time, and we as their parents were not ready to raise them just yet…and so they sat and waited.

They hung out on my iPod and every few months I would visit them and think ‘…damn.’ At first they gave me mixed feelings…I liked the songs but I couldn’t help associating them with the hard times from which they were created. It made me a bit uneasy. But as time passed I began to enjoy them more and more, and was able to look upon the past a bit more fondly. They were my secret playlist, only for me. Like some unknown band that I discovered and loved, and that few others in the world had ever heard.

The more time went by, the more I toyed with the fantasy of releasing those songs. What would people think? Would they like them as much as I do now? Or was our first instinct of locking them away, never to be heard from again, the right move?

Recently we had a band meeting, we ended up talking about the past, and together we listened to those songs we created almost 4 years ago. We discussed the the way those songs made us feel, how they led us to where we are now and what the fate of those songs should be. How can we fully move on if we continue to hide the past? Together we decided that this chapter in My Chemical Romance’s history no longer needed to be locked away.

So beginning in October we will be releasing 2 songs a month for 5 months. 10 songs in total from the Conventional Weapons sessions we did back in 2009. We hope you enjoy these time capsules, and that they may shed a little more light on how and where Danger Days came from, and maybe even where the future of MCR might be heading. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…and now it is finally time to lift the veil on Conventional Weapons.

Ugly Love has got their debut self-titled EP out but instead of discussing those matters the band decides to answer some more fun and upbeat questions instead. Find out the goofy responses below!


1. What are some of your pet peeves?

The way people walk in flip-flops and men's toilets without a mirror. It's tiring being chucked out of the ladies.

2. What is your favorite holiday out of the year and why?

Probably Hanukkah because it rhymes with Monica. Saying that, Halloween has pumpkins and amazing parties. Although, when everyone else dresses up we suddenly look incredibly normal... Yeah Hanukkah.

3. If you could travel in time past, present, or future where would you go, what would you do, and why?

Past to the 1700's because Kit (secretly) just wants to be a pirate and do piratey things. Present to L.A where Tom is desperate to live and hang out on Muscle Beach. And future, for Matt to attend the first gig that Reuben do on their reunion tour. Jan is so cool that he'd be at all of them and just love the ride.

4. What was the best and worse part of your summer vacation?

The best part of summer vacation is getting to swim in the lake, ringing the bell if you win camp Olympics and making out with your best girl. The worst is smelly people and jellyfish.

5. If you could pick one Christmas song to do a cover of which would it be and why?

I think we'd have to choose Last Christmas by George Michael, because we've all been in a bad place over Christmas with an ex where you just want to beat them.

6. What are your top 5 favorite books, movies, musicians, and TV shows of all time?

*brain explodes* ...Friends, for every, single, one of them.

7. Are you a collector of sorts if you do collect anything what is it?

Body parts? No no, Matt's got a pretty sweet N64 collection but only plays Golden Eye/Zelda. Tom's got 2 waist coats. Jan adores cream crackers and eats them alphabetically. And Kit's a hoarder, so everything, his Trojan Helmet takes centre piece though.

8. What has been the stupidest thing you have ever done?

Ugh, that's a rather large list tied together with a paper clip the size of Tom's face. To save space I'll just list the genres they'd fall in. Girls. Alcohol. Girls + Alcohol. Alcohol + Everything. Re-enacting extreme sports on the street. And not caring for the environment.

9. Which video game console is your all time favorite and video games which would you say are your favorites?

Well, I believe only Kit and Matt have consoles at the time of writing so will write from their perspective. As stated before, N64 would be Matts with Golden Eye and Zelda blasting from it. Kit being a hoarder, enjoys them all. Special mention to Sega MegaDrive + Michael Jackson Moonwalker/Lion King/Aladdin. But really Xbox 360 for COD. OH Grim Fandango! (Look it up). Peace

Canadian power metal band BLACKGUARD are proud to announce their return to Europe, supporting KAMELOT on their upcoming European tour beginning November 2nd in Eindhoven, Netherlands.

Finnish Helsinki vampires The 69 Eyes are in their twenty third year as musicians but to them it feels like things are just getting started. Drummer enthusiast Jussi 69 caught up to discuss the band's tenth studio album, comic book, and touring plans for the now into next year.


1. How amazing do you think 2012 has been for you as a band so far?

Jussi 69: Well 2012 has been the biggest year for us and for me in my life. We're getting better and better with making better songs, making every melody more beautiful and making those rock songs rock even more I'm proud to say.

2. Your band has 10 albums under their belts what runs through your mind?

Jussi 69: In a way it feels like we're just getting started. Things are finally starting to roll since we've been around for nearly 20 years but it doesn't seem like it. With every album it gets more exciting with new things and with each new album it takes us to new places. On our last album we went to 27 different countries. So things are just getting more exciting year after year. Like some people have asked me "Are you getting tired of doing this" but I don't understand that question to me and us it's the only dream we've ever had so we're having the time of our life's right now.

3. What was the inspiration for the album name X?

Jussi 69: Well it's 10 songs, it's the tenth album, and X means 10 so it's pretty logical. We had the time for the album almost a year ago and I really liked the title and it looks really cool on a t-shirt. It's a great looking album cover and I really love it. I think it's great when a person goes to a store and asks for the album "The 69 Eyes - X" I think it's pretty cleaver and smart.

4. Why did you pick "Red" as your single?

Jussi 69: With this album we didn't play any songs or demos to anybody. Usually there's always someone from the record company who thinks there smarter than the musicians, someone pointing out you should do this or that but we make the choices until we had it altogether as a package. Then we gave it to the record and told them to do their job and they picked out the singles. So there's no comprises when it comes to creating and writing music but when it comes to picking out the singles every major radio station goes and plays it and this single has been played like hell here. So it's their job to make the decision but I don't understand it. Like the last time we started with the most aggressive song on the album "Dead Girls Are Easy" but this time we started off with a ballad so it's nice to hear that every mainstream  station is playing it. Last night we did a filmed charity show at an arena playing for 8, 000 fans and we played the song for the first time so we're only getting started right now as we speak.

5. You shot a video for the song "Red" can you tell me about the concept behind it?

Jussi 69: The whole album was done in Sweden so it was logical to shoot the video there too. Patrick Ullaeus directed the video and is known well so we had wanted to go to a castle and do something there so we had the girl from the movie if you have seen it The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, and also had some Playmate girls as well but we wanted to have that type of movie video. But it's pretty simple it's us, the girls, and a beautiful location.

6. What was most different about recording X?

Jussi 69: After all of these years I'm pretty happy to tell you that I still found recording to be very magical. Making music and creating stuff that works and stuff that doesn't work to then having it work it builds memories. Like I will never forget the song "If You Love Me The Morning After" it took me to some weird place where I lost the sense of time and didn't know how many times I had played it. So I had probably played it 200 times over and over so the song itself was playing me and I get that feeling now and that song. I just loose the sense of time and could listen to the song forever on repeat.

7. What is your favorite song from X?

Jussi 69: "If You Love Me The Morning After" is a very special song for me. But I think the opening track "Love Runs Away" is one of the best love songs and the second song "Tonight" is something different from The 69 Eyes and the tempo and feel of it and how the feel of it you just feel like you're flying.

8. Your band has been around for nearly 25 years how does this make you feel?

Jussi 69: It's the 23rd year but like I had said before, it feels like we're only getting started. Every year there's so many things we go and do, places to visit, new things to discover, and we're not even half way through it. Like on our last album we went to so many different countries that it's exciting for us. This is something we love to do and sometimes it comes to a surprise when a journalist tells me how long we have been around. But after all we are vampires so we got a couple of thousand of years left.

9. Can you tell me about the comic book you have coming out this fall?

Jussi 69: That's something I am happy and proud of. We are the comic book and movie band and our characters represent that. We don't do the make=up thing but I would like to compare us to Rob Zombie or Kiss. We are the Helsinki vampires so we are telling our story and if I remember right it started in the 18th century where Jyrki is hanging around and after a couple of years we run into each other having met in Hollywood one night. So for us it's exciting and a dream come true. We had released for the first time ever 7-inch singles before the first album, so that had tiny comic books so if you own those you can pay your rent by selling them because they're pretty rare maybe 1,2000 copies were printed. But now we have a real comic so that's what we're all about the comics and movies that we do we put a visual into the sense of it and get really excited about it.

Also I have to add that we had wanted to have our own blood in the ink of the comic just like Kiss had done when they had printed their own comics. But we couldn't do that because if you send your DNA across the sea it's a crime so we couldn't do it. But it's weird if you send a tiny drop of blood it's against the law so I'm sorry to tell the fans this but there is no blood involved but it's still exciting.

10. When it comes to touring where hasn't The 69 Eyes been too?

Jussi 69: Well there aren't that many places to go too anymore. There was talk about going to China but it's difficult, on our last tour we had gone to Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Rio de Janeiro, where I had spent 10 days partying my ass off. I also had spent the last 10 days in Tokyo and I can't wait to go back. Before we even started as a band our dream was to tour in the U.S. So we had to wait a long time before that dream would come true and it did in 2004. So we can't wait to come back whenever we get the chance.  There are some plans in the works of where and when but I'm not sure. We were suppose to tour with Alice Cooper but we missed the time for it so we couldn't do that. I myself would love to tour with Rob Zombie that would be amazing. Every memorable moment for us was always something that had happened while we were in the U.S. like the first time we played the Whisky A GO GO we had sold the place out so that was a moment I won't ever forget. So we can't wait to return to the U.S.

11. What are the upcoming plans you have for the rest of this year?

Jussi 69: Last night was our arena show we had done for charity where 8,000 fans were in the audience and it was shot live on national TV so now we wanted to start the tour in Finland because the last time we had toured we didn't get to tour in our country. Our fans here in Finland sometimes get pissed off because we never play in our country but now we are. So up until Christmas we will be playing in every city. Then next year in January we will be touring in the U.K. and Europe and before the festival season starts we'll be playing in the U.S. then later on return. The pieces are already put together for 2013 so I can't wait.

12. Anything else you want to add for your fans?

Jussi 69: To the fans wait until you hear the new album because it truly is the best album we have ever done. It's what The 69 Eyes are all about and it's the album we've always dreamt of doing so now it's there so we can't wait to tour and tour in the U.S. because it's our ultimate dream to be in the tour bus and play every city out there.

DYING FETUS are kicking off "The Womb to Waste" European headline tour tomorrow night in Lindau, Germany.  The tour runs through October 14th in Aarschot, Belgium.  Support on the tour will come from label mates REVOCATION, Job For a Cowboy and Cerebral Bore.  A complete list of dates can be found below.
