Articles by "Tough On Fridays"

Duo twosome Katie and Caleigh who have been friends since long ago, decided that they would come together to create art in the form of music. Thus forth, the pop punk, progressive, alternative rock group called Tough On Fridays was made into what it was, exploding onto the music scene in only 2017. Releasing a few pieces of works, including most recent being a live album titled "Live at Texas Indie Fest". This album of sorts, consisting one of the singles that had made them take off called "Lush", with other likable tracks such as "Retrospect". Other notable tracks being noticed as crafty with well rounded material. But “Retrospect” and “Lush”, stand on a firmer grounding, that they are more pulsating, progressive in tone, that they keep the music kicking, that you never get tired of it. You partake in it, enjoying it, that you find yourself bobbing to the beat of the music more or less. When it comes down to it, the overall release may be short and brief, but that’s what makes it just as sweet. These girls in Tough On Fridays being rowdy with just the right amount of sass, make this album a whole lot more entertaining upon each listen.

Over the summer this was 2018, Tough On Fridays had released a single titled "The Waywards", causing quite a buzz about them. Now just a few months to pass, comes the fall season of which has had this band release another single this one titled "Let Down". Will it be a successor to their last release or will it just be as the song title says a "Let Down"?

Well as it just so happens to be, it is surely a track that will please all. In fact, this track just has so much more character for itself. An expressive feel of emotion, depth, and excitement that a vast energy source is hearable when played through. As such, the song just has this instrumentation that is a lot of fun, the vocal chords being very feel some whilst the instruments play along, adding in this angst of gentle tone with progression it makes it mix well together.

There is a lot to take from a song such as "Let Down". so much openness within the mixture of tone and content, that it offers enjoyment purely throughout its contents no matter the playback times. Lyrics for one, are so connecting at times, you feel relation with the music at hand. Everything just adding up, that it builds into this undeniable sense of wisdom and entertainment really.

Tough On Fridays being a type of act whose time thus far, has come to pay off more than just a few times over. They shall be the act to be continually watched upon, with each piece of material that gets a release.

Tough On Fridays, has just released a new single called 'The Waywards". The "tagline" reads "Because sometimes girls need to shred". With that set, this track and band to back it up, "The Waywards", is a track that would bring any punk rock alternative personnel, to the forefront of that performance set up immediately.

Thus, moving forward, this band whose formation was just last year in 2017, has already gotten this single out for all to hear. Their style being very familiar to other bands who have been there before, i.e. The 1975, Blink-182, Taking Back Sunday, among others. Their sound being as they say reminiscent of these acts. Which is greatly spoken, because as the song plays, the material does as well, creating this essence that is very much like these acts they take to heart.

Their style is fun, original, and just outgoing all on its own. The vocalization provided captures this energy driven tone, with the melody being present yet fun filled throughout. When listening to it, the material just begins to circulate creating this ongoing sense that makes the material more entertaining than it is.

Tough On Fridays is an act that has something to say with their musical direction of choice. It does so well, upon a track like "The Waywards". Other working's that will follow, can be well thought out material, that may be well flourished and thought through too.
