Articles by "School Of Fear"

Infamous author Gitty Daneshvari who's most famous for her book series School Of Fear has got a whole another series up and running that's based after the popular toy line by Mattel called Monster High. This is the second series in the Monster High book series the first one by Lisi Harrison being successful as well. So there is no doubt that this series won't be a double header of fun and excitement  Gitty goes about discussing the new series, who her favorite ghoul is and what else she has in-store!

1. Tell me in 5 words who you are and what you do?

Gitty: Gitty Daneshvari equals neurotic writer.

2. When and why did you begin writing?

Gitty: I remember writing short stories as a kid (probably around 9) but I never finished them. Then around eighteen I began keeping a notebook with stories, ideas, random bits of dialogue. From there I just kept writing until I sold my first book THE MAKEDOWN in 2006 (Full disclosure, only three people bought this book and they are all blood related to me).

3. What books have most influenced your life most?

Gitty: Pretty much everything Roald Dahl wrote influenced me – his work is darkly funny, quirky and wonderfully original. I love his books as much today as I did when I was eight!

4. What book are you reading now?

Gitty: I am reading a memoir by Jessica Mitford called Hons and Rebels.

5. Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?

Gitty: YES! Deadlines! Ahhhhh!!! I am not good with deadlines yet I am even worse without them!

6. Did you read the previous Monster High book series by Lisi Harrison how does yours and hers differ?

Gitty: I read Lisi’s first book, which I thought was fantastic. I didn't read any further in the series as I really wanted to make my books as uniquely mine as I could.

7. How many books will be in this all new series?

Gitty: Four!

8. Will there be any more new characters introduced?

Gitty: Rochelle Goyle, Robecca Steam, Venus McFlytrap are the three new leads. There are also some new secondary characters.

9. Who is your favorite Monster High ghoul and how would you compare yourself to them and why?

Gitty: I think Rochelle Goyle – the gargoyle from Scaris – is my favorite character. I absolutely love her gargoyle code of ethics, which is a general code of conduct she follows in life. I also find her physical appearance wonderful - wings, “rot” iron details, and smooth granite skin.

10. If you could come up with your very own ghoul what type would it be, what powers would it have, and why would you want it to exist?

Gitty: Hmmm….I think I would create a fairy who feels what other people are feeling. She would obviously be very compassionate, which is always helpful in high school!

Infamous School Of Fear author Gitty Daneshvari, has taken charge of creating an ALL NEW tale with our famous guys and ghouls of Monster High! This time around three new students have been entangled within the halls of this scary cool school. Which ghouls? Well our latest additions of course! Robecca, Venus, and Rochelle! The story itself is said to be as follows;

"As new students, the trio must navigate the bewildering array of cute monster boys, established cliques, and monster-rific subjects like Mad Science, G-ogre-phy, and Physical Deaducation. As if that weren't hard enough, something strange and sinister seems to be happening at the school. Popular girls like Frankie Stein and Cleo de Nile are acting weird-and all signs point to everyone's new favorite teacher, Miss Sylphia Flapper. Can the new GFFs expose the fave as a fraud, or will they succumb to peer pressure?"

Having the book be aimed towards youngsters and teens alike from 3-12 years of age the book consists of 240 to 272 pages. This series is surly to be a fan favorite to that of what Lisi Harrison created in her Monster High series that just ended with her last installment Monster High 4: Back and Deader Than Ever.
