For the past 10 years horror convention Midsummer Scream one of the largest and likely biggest horror conventions in the US! Makes its return this past weekend at the Long Beach Convention Center once more. This was the tenth year run for it, and it drew in the crowds as it always tends to do!
Friday was the kickoff for festivities, so fans aligned outside the convention center’s either side. Awaiting to head in that evening from 6-10PM. Many fans dressed up in full costume, while others sported horror dresses or t-shirts! Upon entering you were greeted with the annual mascot the black cat with the banner hung high above the crowd of excited fans!
In the lobby was some vendors selling numerous merchandises ranging from hand-fans, umbrellas, pet décor, appeal such as t-shirts, toys and figurines to even food and drink options on the opposite side of the lobby hall. Heading downstairs was the main hall attractions, including special guests from the Scream film series, Halloween with director John Carpenter himself! With lots more vendors selling more items, fog machines, t-shirt's, dresses, skirts, shoes, hats, artwork, stickers, keychains, posters, toys, to more food options as well.

There was even an area for the kids, the pumpkin patch area with coloring, book readings, and music! Just a chill spot for kids and their families to hang out in a calmer way! A couple of vendors featured live animals such as owls. No pictures or videos were permitted sadly, but it was creepy cool to see them live, twisting their heads this way and that way.
Some of the vendor's booths included Universal, Knott's Scary Farm, Six Flags, Queen Mary's Dark Habor, and the Haunted Hayride, featuring some of their ghoulish characters roaming around, grabbing photos, scaring folk, it was all in good fun, and just a glimpse into the merchandise, and spookiness to come in the fall!

Off to the corner back area of the hall was the one and only Hall Of Shadows, drowned in fog, dark lighting, and loads of mini haunted houses, mazes, scare zones, and photo opportunities galore! Lines were aligned which way you looked, with lots of people roaming through the houses getting chilled to their bones. Ten mini haunted houses were displayed, the scare actors within each one were top notch scary cool! The props and décor made it that spookier yet so much fun checking out all of them, not one was a disappointment but a pure delight.
Others taken in the photo opportunities getting snap shots with spooky characters like zombies, Santa Claus and even a Stranger Things exhibit with Eddie! Other spots had a hearse, electric chair, skeletons, pumpkins, and much more!
Loads of people were dressed up, zombies, witches, clowns, to famous horror characters like Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, Freddy Kruger, Ghost Face, and many others getting the creeps out of everyone walking bye.
Besides, all of that other events set up were musicals, movie screening’s, panels with guests from film, to even discussions going over the Halloween attractions coming to the various theme parks like Universal, Knotts Berry Farm, Six Flags, and many other independent locations with so much to offer it made hearing about that much exhilarating. Especially the fact that come 2027 all new changes, location, and an expansion will be debuting for the next Midsummer Scream, said to be bigger and better and yes scarier than before.
Overall, it was a scary, good time! So much to explore and check out that you could never be bored at this event. Checking it out once a year if not every year is a keeper!
