Blackened thrash overloads SKELETONWITCH have announced a limited-edition seven-inch trilogy via Prosthetic Records. The band recently re-recorded three tracks from its long-out-of-print debut "At One With The Shadows" for this series. Each edition will have one of those songs, as well as another rarity, and feature artwork by drummer Derrick "Mullet Chad" Nau. The first installment, limited to 500 copies on gold vinyl and coinciding with the launch of SKELETONWITCH's "Skullsplitter" headlining tour, features the songs "At One With The Shadows" and "Bringers of Death". Cartoon Network's Adult Swim recently shot a video for "Bringers of Death", which was originally an overseas bonus track on the band's 2007 album "Beyond the Permafrost". This is the first time the track will be available physically in North America.

Order your copy now; records will start shipping next Monday. The second installment will hit in early 2011.

Guitarist Scott Hedrick commented, "At the moment, we're busy as hell forging new metal for our next release and gearing up for our headlining tour with WITHERED and LANDMINE MARATHON. So, as we look toward the future, we thought it would be fun to release a few tracks from the past.

"We often get requests for these songs and are happy to have them back in print, complete with new artwork from our drummer, Mullet Chad. You can get them online from Prosthetic, and of course, we'll have them for sale at all of our upcoming tour dates while they last. Get 'em quick, because they're extremely limited!"

SKELETONWITCH will hit the road next week with labelmates WITHERED and LANDMINE MARATHON as part of the "North American Skullsplitter Tour 2010". They will wrap up the year by supporting JOB FOR A COWBOY.

SKELETONWITCH is continuing to support its latest album, "Breathing the Fire", which was recorded in Seattle with legendary producer Jack Endino (NIRVANA, HIGH ON FIRE, SOUNDGARDEN). The record debuted at No. 151 on The Billboard 200 chart and No. 2 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200. Over the past year, the group has toured alongside such heavy metal luminaries as CHILDREN OF BODOM, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, CANNIBAL CORPSE and HIGH ON FIRE, in addition to delivering standout performances on the second stage of this year's Ozzfest.

METALLICA will wind down the touring cycle behind its 2008 album "Death Magnetic" later this month in New Zealand, with the band having been on the road for more than two years. While there are possibilities for more live work in 2011, drummer Lars Ulrich told The Pulse of Radio that the band is starting to get the songwriting itch too. "There's a bunch of balls in the air for 2011, but I think the main one is we really want to get back to writing again," he said. "We haven't really written since, what, '06, '07, and we want to get back to kind of just being creative again. Right now we are going to just chill out and then probably start up again in, I'd say, March or April, and start probably putting the creative cap back on and start writing some songs."

Ulrich recently told England's Classic Rock magazine that more "Big Four" shows, featuring METALLICA along with SLAYER, ANTHRAX and MEGADETH, could happen in 2011 or 2012. Ulrich said, "The vibe on this thing is so big, we'd be stupid to ignore it. You know on your iPhone, you can move the weather maps up and down? Well, the 'Big Four' is quickly moving up to the top in terms of potential occurrences for the next couple of years."

The "Big Four" package played festivals across Europe throughout the early part of summer, with the four veteran speed metal bands sharing the stage together for the first time ever. Although there were no U.S. dates, one of the shows in Bulgaria was beamed via satellite to U.S. movie theatres.

The possible recurrence of the "Big Four" tour may put plans on hold for METALLICA to stage a massive live show next year that co-manager Peter Mensch said last March would rival PINK FLOYD's "The Wall" and would play just 10 dates.

Ulrich admitted that such a project has been on the band's minds, saying, "We have been kicking some ideas around about doing some stuff that — how shall I say it — is pretty theatrical . . . We might incorporate a lot of different ideas, instead of it being one particular thing. It would be a multitude of theatrical elements, maybe as an idea for a one-off tour or something."

Although Ulrich says that he's looking forward to taking "at least six months off" once the band completes its current tour this fall, he added, "I would champion trying to do (the 'Big Four' tour) in 2011 or 2012, obviously in England and the United States. It's just a matter of logistics."

Adam "Nergal" Darski, the 33-year-old leukemia-stricken guitarist/vocalist of the Polish extreme metal act BEHEMOTH, has released the following statement regarding his treatment:

"I'm still in the hospital, but in quite a good shape so I write to let you know about my health and the further stages of treatment.

"I've been through four planned chemotherapies and have stayed in hospital for over three months now. I've gone through the whole therapy smoothly, though I also had a couple of difficult moments. All this means I have finished the stage of pharmacological treatment and I am about to start the irradiation and then the marrow transplant.

"Yes, we've found a donor! Having searched for months, the foundation has found a person whose genotype is identical to mine. It would have been difficult to achieve if it wasn't for the support of so many people. Most of all, I want to express my admiration for [26-year-old Polish pop singer] Dorota [Rabczewska; a.k.a. Doda] — my wonderful and devoted fiancée. She did everything she could to help me and many other people, regardless of adversities and comments which were often unfair. Your help is invaluable! Thank you! I love you.

"On behalf of me and all other ill people, I thank everyone who registered in the bone marrow bank regardless of origin, skin colour or religion. The concerts for charity have been organized all over the world and people of show business, bands and, most of all, the fans got deeply involved. You are beyond great! One of you made my transplant possible, but remember, your attitude may save many others in need. So I appeal to everyone: don't stop the madness! The march for victory continues! Horns up!"

Every year, more than 10,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with leukemia or lymphoma, and a bone-marrow transplant from an unrelated person is their best or only hope for survival. There is no data available on how many people die waiting for a match, but only four out of 10 patients receive the needed transplant.

BEHEMOTH's "Evangelia Heretika" DVD will be released in the U.S. on November 9 via Metal Blade Records, in Poland via Mystic Records, and in the rest of Europe through Nuclear Blast. It contains three discs featuring two full shows ("Live In Paris 2008" and "Live In Warsaw 2009"); every BEHEMOTH music video ever made; "Evangelion" tour documentary featuring band interviews plus tons of backstage footage; and a bonus "Live in Warsaw" audio CD.

A performance clip of the song "Slither" — taken from VELVET REVOLVER's forthcoming DVD, "Live In Houston" — can be viewed below. Due on November 16 via Eagle Vision, the set was filmed in Houston, Texas in 2005 during the tour in support of the band's debut album, "Contraband". The full-length live tracks are intercut with snippets of interview with the various bandmembers talking about how VELVET REVOLVER came into being. The setlist, naturally, focuses on that debut release but is complemented by two tracks from the GUNS N' ROSES catalog and two songs from STONE TEMPLE PILOTS debut album, highlighting the history of the VR bandmembers.

VELVET REVOLVER guitarist Slash told BostonHerald.com in September that his touring vocalist, Myles Kennedy, will not take the job of the band's new lead singer. Kennedy returned to his band ALTER BRIDGE in October, while Slash is taking the remaining months of 2010 to work on new music and go through audition tapes. VELVET REVOLVER has been dormant since April 2008, when the band dismissed original frontman Scott Weiland.

Slash told The Pulse of Radio that the band's status hasn't changed since. "Everybody asks the same question: 'Where are you with that?'" he said. "It's really, we're nowhere until we can find somebody who can do that job. Very quietly I've had my ears to the pavement, trying to see if there's anybody that fits that bill, and it's got to be somebody really good, 'cause I don't want to rush into it out of desperation. I want to wait 'til I get the right person."

As for the possibility of enlisting Kennedy, Slash told BostonHerald.com, "Kennedy is still committed to ALTER BRIDGE. I don't want to be the guy responsible for breaking up a band. But we'll find someone. Maybe not somebody known, but some kind of local hero."

Kennedy had actually been approached to sing for VELVET REVOLVER back in the early days of the group, and again after they parted ways with Weiland, but turned down the offer both times.

Look up in the sky, is it a bird? Is it a plane? Not by a long shot because it’s RED LIGHT SKY! Uh.... who? Red Light Sky Los Angele's influential power-pop hardcore punks who formed oh not so long ago and have been hitting the streets with their pop-house rock! Vocalist's Matt Koruba and Marc Wysocki and guitarist Jussi Karvinen spill the goods on their upcoming self-titled EP debut along with what they have lined up for the upcoming holiday season.

1. How did the band come up with the name Red Light Sky?

When people think of a red light in the sky, they think of something ominous, looming, even scary perhaps aliens or maybe a nuclear blast. Either way it conjures up feelings of fear. We have always been about embracing that fear, delving into the unknown, and seeing the new beginning in every ending. Life is constantly changing and moving around us, and if we don't continue to grow and change with it we will all get lost in the storm. We offer that same strength to our friends and family (fans) and pride ourselves on our adaptability. Life rules and aliens’ rock!

2. The band has a new EP coming out, which is a self-titled release. What are your thoughts on this release?

We had so much fun making this record, and were having even more fun playing these songs live...we REALLY can’t wait to release the EP because were dying to hit the road and share this with everyone!

3. Do you have any personal favorites off it?

We really like Dying Young because it was the first song we wrote as a band...and it’s cool to hear how far the song came and how much it changed since we first wrote it.

4. How can Red Light Sky fans get the EP?

It will be released on ITUNES, ZUNE, and every other digital outlet on NOVEMBER 30th! Hard copies will be available at the end of the year!

5. What was it like working with Max Coane and having Nick Thompson and Omar Zehery of Hit The Lights be featured guests on the EP?

Max Coane is the Hunter S. Thomson of recording and making a record with him was so much fun. It really was an epic adventure! We’ve been close friends with Hit The Lights for a long time now and it worked out perfect because we had talked about having Nick and Omar on a track but didn’t know if they would be touring or around when we were making the record. But it just so happens that they were in LA at the same time working on their new record, so we called’em up and BOOM SUCKA! Hit The Lights meets Red Light Sky!

6. Why do you feel music has become so complicated?

Well...with all the technological advances made in the last 10 years...iPods...Protocols...auto tune and THE INTERNET - it’s pretty hard to keep up! I don’t think it’s a bad thing that music has gotten so crazy with genre blending...metal with dance...punk with electronic...it all adds to our inspiration as artists and makes it damn near impossible to get bored listening to the same thing over and over.



7. Is Red Light Sky in discussion with any labels at this time or nothing as of yet.

There is definitely some talks being had, but unfortunately nothing we can discuss JUST yet.

8. How about touring, when will Red Light Sky be hitting the road?

Our goal is the start of the New Year!! So January/February baby!

9. Though it’s a month away, what do you want for Christmas? Staying on the topic of holidays how was your Halloween and what do you have planned for Thanksgiving?

Marc wants a T-Mobile G2 phone, Matt wants a husky puppy, Jussi wants a Les Paul custom 1979 and 2 Alaskan snow owls (male and female), Derik wants a car, and Steve wants Derik and Jussi to get cars. HALLOWEEN WAS AWESOME! Played an incredible costume ball, and partied for 3 days straight WOOT!! Everyone is pretty much going home to see family for thanksgiving.....mmmmmmmmmmmm turkey. *drool*

10. What about the future where do you see it taking Red Light Sky and what is in store for you in 2011?

TOUR! TOUR! TOUR! TOUR!

Having been formally named WhipKraft, Killing Moon has been making music for quite some time and has since released a full-length as well as various singles, which includes their last release “Twilight Holocaust”. Since this release Killing Moon’s style is surrounding the black/death metal genre as well as going over the lines of melodic metal sounding quite similar to Dimmu Borgir meets Cradle of Filth.

Their use of style marks the same formula as Dimmu Borgir uses as far as drum and guitar structure is concerned. As far as the vocal chords go those fall between the lines of sounding a lot like Cradle of Filth because their very modern yet heavily focused on the mood and vibe it tends to send out.

Killing Moon’s skill and source of ability is built solid maintaining that eeriness but manages to keep the darkness alive and well.

"The Shadow of Satan, EP comes out of Huntington Beach, Californians Torment Id whose start began back in April 2007 and now three years later the band has outdone themselves by having gone through the writing, recording, and gigging process and now all of their hard earned work has paid off thanks to this little piece of torment.

This EP consists of five solid tracks each more brutalizing than the last. For starters “Frozen Wasteland”, opens everything up with its slow yet steady pace that’s all it can withstand is that slow yet steady rhythm that keeps to the same formula from start to finish. “Anthem for the Dead”, continues to maintain this formula but with the addition of vocalist Joey Engel he adds this raw and aggressive ability that cannot be ignored. The title track again goes through this same ordeal except after 20 seconds the music builds up to a more faster style and manages to make the music that more listenable.

“Hell’s Legion March”, is the last track on the EP and its recording is done live and its sound is just scratchy and just sounds out of line the quality is rather decent but it doesn’t get any better than that ranking. When it comes down to this EP overall Torment Id’s standards are good but aren’t good enough.

Escape the Fate have come a long way since their formation way back when, having gone through the typical route of what band’s usually go through; line-up changes, label swaps, relentless touring, you name it they surpassed it. But through it all Escape the Fate had come together as a whole after claiming Craig Mabbit (blessthefall, and The Word Alive) as their leading front man. From this point onward this so-called war they so declared on 2008’s “This War Is Ours”, has become a whole another level of what needs to be achieved.

With that said, Escape the Fate just released their self-titled efforts as most bands have done as of lately going the “self-titled” route. But as far as this album goes, Escape the Fate has claimed that this album is their heaviest to date. Bassist/vocalist Max Green comments on saying that "This record is the cure for the modern day music epidemic; we are wiping the slate clean and re-writing rock music as you know it." Having said that the band went on to work with producer Don Gilmore who’s worked with such acts as Linkin Park, Bullet for my Valentine, and Hollywood Undead so this album rounds off to sounding a lot like those artists with minor indications of other acts hidden in the mix.

Like take "Massacre", for instance, the intro sounds an awful like Bring Me the Horizon’s "Chelsea Smile", as far as the intro is concerned. "Issues", along with "Massacre" are the pair of singles to come off this release and both go hand in hand with one another. "Issues", portrays that hard rock melody with heavy guitar riffs that keeps the music flowing right on through. Other tunes worth mentioning includes "Zombie Dance", "Gorgeous Nightmare", "City of Sin", "Prepare Your Weapon", and "The Aftermath (The Guillotine, Part III)". All of these comprise of bloodshed, melodies, harmony, yet remain very heartfelt and true. In short, as Escape the Fate put it, “This war has been won”.

When the moon is high and full of life, you know that there’s likely something going bump in the night. That could be anything from ghosts, goblins, witches, zombies, or even blood thirsty Vampires. In the long run it all leads up to one source of outcasts, Vampires Everywhere! Who just formed not too long ago and have already made a name for themselves.



These blood dwellers have done nothing but touring, writing, and recording and tonight was the night that they would yet again play tribute to being the “opening” act as they have done since hitting the road this past summer. But this time this night would be very different than all the rest. For this night is the night of the full moon which makes these blood dwellers that more eager to want to bite.



Vampires Everywhere! went on to play a solid 30-minute set list that comprised of such tunes as “Bury Me Alive”, “The Embrace”, and “Immortal Love” that kept the crowd begging for more. Whilst their journey has just begun, these blood dwellers will be roaming long into the night.
