Non Talkers Talks of Touring, New Music, EP Debut, and the Growth they Hope to Reach!

Indie pop folk act NON TALKERS gets together to talk about themselves, as far as music they have released, including an EP, and all new singles out soon! They go on to say much else, including plans to tour, playing shows, release more music, and do much more.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Non Talkers is a Portuguese–Belgian duo formed by Marco and Evita Brantner. We officially started the project in 2019, but our musical connection began years before that. We both shared a passion for emotional storytelling and melody, so forming a band together felt like a natural step. Since then, we’ve grown from small acoustic shows to playing theaters and festivals across Europe, building a sound that blends folk, pop, and indie influences.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

The name Non Talkers reflects the idea that sometimes emotions speak louder than words. Music has always been our way of expressing what can’t easily be said, the unspoken feelings, the quiet thoughts, the things that live between silence and sound.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We’re based in Viana do Castelo, in the north of Portugal, a beautiful coastal town with a calm but growing creative scene. It’s not a big city, so the local music scene is quite small, but there’s a lot of raw talent around. We don’t follow any specific local acts closely, but we really admire how many independent artists in Portugal are carving their own paths and developing unique sounds.

4. How would you describe your style?

We’d describe our style as pop-folk with an indie soul. Our songs mix warm harmonies, acoustic textures and emotional storytelling, often blending the intimacy of folk with the energy and dynamics of pop and rock. At the heart of it, our music is about connection, turning personal stories into something universal that people can truly feel.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

So far, we’ve released the EP Pendulum of Time with three songs, followed by our full-length album Roots, which includes fourteen tracks that really define our sound and storytelling. We also released the Christmas single Make Things Right, and our latest single Weight of Doubt, which marks the beginning of a new chapter for us.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

Yes, we do! We’ll be releasing several new singles over the next few months while continuing our Weight of Doubt tour. Each release will show a different side of who we are as artists, so it’s an exciting time with lots of new music on the way.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

Yes, we’re currently touring with our Weight of Doubt tour, which runs throughout 2025 and into 2026. It started in Portugal with a series of sold-out acoustic shows, and now we’re expanding into bigger venues and new countries across Europe. It’s a really special tour for us because it reflects our evolution, both musically and emotionally, and it’s giving us the chance to connect with audiences in a deeper way.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Our main goal for the future is to keep growing organically, reaching more people while staying true to who we are. We want to take our music to new countries, play bigger stages, and keep releasing songs that mean something both to us and to our listeners. At the same time, we want to build a long-lasting connection with our audience, not just through music, but through the stories and emotions we share along the way.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

You can listen to Non Talkers on all major streaming platforms, Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Deezer, and Amazon Music. If you’d like to support us directly, you can find our merch and physical releases (including vinyl and CDs) on our official website nontalkers.com. That’s also where you’ll find all the latest tour dates and updates.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

We’d love for listeners to remember how the music made them feel. More than anything, we want our songs to create a sense of connection, to remind people that they’re not alone in what they feel or go through. If a melody, a lyric, or even a single moment in a song stays with them after listening, then we’ve done what we set out to do.
