Satin Banshee Discusses Show Playing and Music Making!

Heavy hard hitters SATIN BANSHEE have got an debut EP out, with merchandise following suite, with shows underway soon enough. The band even goes on more so to discuss this EP, playing some shows and just wanting to get themselves out there for all to hear!

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

We are 3 close friends from the same town who Started Satin Banshee about 7 months ago. We all come from fairly diverse backgrounds musically but we are able to work together well!

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

It actually came from one of those band name generator websites, I remember seeing it and thinking that it would be a great name for a band like what we are and kept it in my back pocket for about 4 years.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We are from the Chicagoland area in Northern Illinois in the United States. The music scene here is very diverse and broad but there are not too many bands like us. Lots of emo, indie, and metal in our local scene.

4. How would you describe your style?

It’s hard to come up with a succinct definition for us so I typically just use the term “heavy garage death glam”. I believe that it provides a pretty accurate caricature. As a separate note we are very big on loud, high energy live shows, often trying to get the audience involved if we can.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We currently have our debut 5 song EP released. If you like garage rock-esque production and LOTS of fuzz you may enjoy what we are doing!

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

Yes! We currently have 3 singles planned on being released within the next year, followed by a full album.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We have mainly been focusing on writing since our last show in late July, but we do expect to get on more bills as 2019 winds down.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Just trying our hardest to do what we love for as long as possible!

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

Our EP is available on all streaming platforms and though we haven’t printed physical merch yet, we do have some designs available for purchase on our Teepublic page!

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

That we do it for them! we want to create something that listeners can come back to time and time again!
