Breakthrough Even Discusses Development, Styling, and Passion of Music!

Duo act BREAKTHROUGH EVEN likes heaviness within their music, with that compassion styling of melodic done with emotional drive all the way! Since forming they have released two EP's along with a couple of single's, expecting that style of sound, with a wide variety of aspects as well. An upcoming third EP release is in the works right now, developing their scale and building their efforts to continue to connect with themselves and others who share in the passion of music! See what else the band had discuss about the music and more below.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

We were originally a 5 piece band that started jamming back in 2011, but it wasn't until a year later we decided we wanted to take the project seriously. The original line up consisted of the two of us, our vocalist Noel Velazquez, bassist Kerry Love, and guitarist Jamey Sudduth. Eventually we parted ways with Kerry and Jamey and welcomed a local guitarist named Josh Curl as our full time bassist. After releasing two EP's, a single and playing various shows we parted ways with Noel and Josh Curl in 2018 and have been a duo ever since. Since then we've focused on honing our songwriting and production skills, as well as expanding our network in an attempt to inspire collaboration with other musicians!

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

There's really no deep significance to the band's name. Being fans of anime and the show Bleach we got the name from a track that was featured on the official soundtrack of one of the series OVA's. It was originally just a temporary name but we ended up sticking with it.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We're based out of Atlanta, Georgia. Our scene is thriving, and though we certainly wish it were more prominent, we do have bands like Violence System, Void Eater, No Ghost, and Left to Suffer who are really helping to represent Atlanta well!

4. How would you describe your style?

Our sound is constantly undergoing changes, but we love heavy riffs combined with strong melodic sense. At the end of the day our style is heavy, but emotionally driven in all aspects.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

In 2014, we released our first body of work in the form of an EP titled "The Step That Lies Ahead" and that was followed up in 2015 by another EP titled "Legacy of Dreams". Ever since then we've released a few singles with the two latest being 'Charlatan Dreams' which features vocalist Mike Semesky (Interpol, ex-Intervals) and 'Requiem' which features vocalist Christina Rotondo (Adelyn). People can expect a wide variety of sounds that span many aspects of metalcore and modern metal in general.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

We're currently writing our third EP which is still untitled!

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

With the departure of our other members in 2018, we decided to operate as a studio project temporarily with the intent to play shows once we've established a full band dynamic. Fortunately, working this way has lessened the impact that the recent pandemic has had on our plans, but we do have every intent to one day return to the stage!

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

We hope to continue to develop as songwriters and performers, to scale and build upon our efforts, and to continue to connect with others who share in the passion of music.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

Our music can be found on all major digital retailers and streaming services and you can visit our merch website to support us by buying a shirt or two!

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

We just hope that our listeners are able to take away something from our efforts whether it be an idea, a feeling, or a new favorite song. Just like music was a driving force and a huge catalyst of so many memorable moments within our own lives, we want to do the same for others and write music that not only speaks to us and is something we are proud of but also is able to connect with people.
