Jack The Envious the Act to Pull You Down

Up-and-comers Jack The Envious have come together to create a goal that is to just get out there, into the world so that people could enjoy the music they love making. That said, they have gone on to write and record a debut EP titled "Pull You Down", which exposes their unique style, blending in various genres into one. This is Jack The Envious. Who have taken the time to discuss the EP, some band insight and future plans.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Going back to my high school years me and Guy(Guitar) kept playing together and writing songs just for fun.
When we enlisted the Army it was a tough choice, to put all the music aside and just contribute to something else.

After a year in the service I met Chuck our bassist in "Commanderes Course", we immediately clicked and at the same time I started Writing songs with Shalev (Guitar) and we kind of glued everyone together and started playing shows, it was pretty funny considering we were all guitar players originally, Shalev played drums back then.

When we reached the end of our service it felt right to start recording our material so we started working on our debut EP "Pull You Down". We had a drummer for a short while and Shalev moved to guitar but after the release we found Inon (Drummer) and asked him to join us and from there the rest is history.

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

At first it was Envy, but when we got serious I figured there are probably hundreds of bands named "Envy".
We had an old song called "Jack The Envious", and it was just our style of music, and a name no one could possibly have, something unique.

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

We're originally from Israel but we're moving further into Europe to start touring. The music scene here is pretty humble, especially for the rock genre. I would definitely recommend "Walkways" and "Zoo Harmonics" both are absolutely amazing bands.

4. How would you describe your style?

We play post-hardcore that fuses elements of punk and alternative, we sometimes like to add creepy vibes in our music as well. FFO: Pierce The Veil, Bring Me The Horizon, Saosin, Our Last Night.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

We've released our debut EP "Pull You Down" featuring 6 original tracks, a Gorillaz Cover and an acoustic version of the track "More to Life". Since then we also did a tribute to "The Ghost Inside" and A music video to our cover of Wonderwall originally by Oasis.

6. Why should someone go and pick up this release?

It's the best independent release from this genre I've heard so far this year, but that's only my biased opinion of course haha.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We have a tour in Europe coming up, no details yet unfortunately.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Tour as much as we can, sign to a label, record a full length, the sky is the limit.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

Practically everywhere: Bandcamp, Youtube, Facebook, Spotify, Soundcloud, iTunes etc.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

We put our heart and souls to each and every song, and I can definitely say we have a story to tell.
