The World Over says We Are The World Over!

Metal act The World Over have released a debut EP with plans on following that up with a debut full-length but in the meantime, they released a new single and accompanying video and some show time playing here and there as well. The band got together to discuss their past, present, and future activity and what it holds for The World Over.

1. First of all, who are you, and what do you do in the band?

We are The World Over! :)

Tiare - vocalist and anime specialist
Aaron - vocalist and science guy
Donovan - bassist and getaway car driver
Anthony - drummer and master of beard
Ryan - guitarist and smooth talker

2. Let's talk a little about the history of the band. When did you originally form and is this the original line-up?

We originally formed in May 2013 under a different name, but soon became the World Over and have since adopted the lineup we have now. We think its a winning combination.

3. Do you remember how the idea of forming the band first came up?

Most of us went to school together, and there were no other metal bands in the music school (or in the area at all!) We knew we had to fix that!

4. How long after you formed was it until you played your first live show?

Our first show was about 6 months after originally forming.

5. What are your memories of the performance?

We remember the crowd being really into it, and it was wonderful to feel that energy for the first time.

6. Speaking of performances, how's your live activity been going so far?

It's been great - We're looking forward to an upcoming show at the Whiskey (Hollywood) at the end of September!

7. Can you describe your live performance for those who have never seen you live?

Our performances are very high energy, with a demand for crowd participation.

8. Do you have a favorite song you like to play live?

Our new single, "Eulogy," is a ton of fun to play live, and we're very proud of it!

9. How would you categorize the style of the band?

"Street style metal" is an easy way to sum it up, we suppose.

10. What bands have influenced your band and its sound?

Our main influences are Issues, Volumes, Periphery, A Day to Remember, and Michael Jackson.

11. What lyrical theme do you guys use in your music? What message do you want to send?

Lyrically, we want to send a message of overcoming adversity.

12. Are you guys signed or unsigned?

We are an independent metal band that don't need no man.

13. If you aren't signed why take the DIY approach to releasing your content and material?

Honestly, we are DIY because we have to be. We would love to team up with a label in the future, providing the setup is workable for all parties.

14. Do you hope to one day get signed on or prefer the other way to do things the way you want too?

Yes! Being signed would enable us to focus more on our strengths, chiefly the music itself.

15. You guys went ahead and released a debut EP titled "Rampart District" that's seeing it's 1 year release soon. Will you be celebrating in any shape, way, or form?

Hell yeah! Celebrations include alcohol, tithes, and weed.

16. Besides that release, you went and released a new single and video for a new song called “EULOGY”. Why wasn't this song included on the EP release? Can  we expect to hear it on an upcoming release instead?

"Eulogy" was the first song we've written with the new band lineup - We'll most likely be including it as past of our next release.

17. Have you guys written or recorded any other new material as of late? When can we hear the new tunes from you guys?

We've been steadily writing in preparation of more recording! Stay tuned and follow us online to stay in the know. :)

18. You also released not one, but two, music videos one for "Swervewolf" and then "Eulogy". Is that a process you enjoy? Will you be releasing more videos in the coming future?

We definitely enjoyed the music video process! When we have our next album release, it will be accompanied by a new video as well.

19. How did you guys come up with your band name?

"The World Over" was meant to represent not just how we are from all different places, but also how the story of struggle is a universal theme we all share in. In sharing our struggles through our music, we hope to embolden others to overcome their own battles.

20. Did you know your band's initials are TWO? Like you know the number two? Does that relate to anything dealing with the band or just a funny occurrence that happened?

WAIT, WUT?

21. Where can our readers find your band on the internet?

22. How has Social Networking (Facebook,Twitter, etc.) impacted your band?

Social networking definitely helps us engage with listeners and fans. We also love all the pictures of cats on social media. It brings us strength in times of turmoil, and faith for a new day. #showmeyourkitties

23. What does the next year hold for you and your band?

In the next year, we're looking forward to headlining our first world tour, a sponsorship by Monster, and an rsvp to Drake's X-mas party. Well, we can dream, amirite?

24. Do you have any last words for fans, or potential new fans?

We ain't got no type. Jk. Swipe right always.
