Hi-Gh Dances the Night Away

Speed metal act Hi-Gh have been hard at work doing various things as a band from playing shows, touring here and there and even writing and recording material for a new music and the future. The band gave us an insight on who they are and what we can expect.

1. Tell us the brief history of your band.

HI-GH was formed in Rome in early 2012 by Tommaso "Slowly" Cenci (bass and lead vocals) and Ovidio
"Smyley" Preja (drums and vocals), who both played in a thrash/black act HASTIGHED. Their idea was to start a speed metal band with thrash and punk influences. They soon talked about their plan to Marco "Psyki" Stamigna (guitar and vocals), who at that time was playing in another thrash band from Rome, REAKTOR. First they started to play covers of EXCITER, VENOM and TANK, and the chemistry was there, so Psyki soon joined the band. After some rehearsals, the three members began to write their own songs, like "Freeway Madness" and "You're Going Down". The next compositions were more complex and technical, and they decided they need another guitar to make these tracks alive, so Psyki called his friend Marco "RedEyes" Vitellone (guitar), who was playing with HYBRID FEAR. RedEyes agreed to try with them, and after a destructive night of weed and booze, satisfied, joined the band. HI-GH started to forge ahead like a well-oiled machine, and in a matter of a few weeks became an unstoppable force, ready to complete the songs for the first album. Night Dances was released on 5 April 2013. In the same day HI-GH played at the release party with Evil Invaders, Violentor and Fingernails! What a crazy night! HI-GH started touring more and more in Italy (The Raw Machine of Loudness tour), gaining respect and following in the underground scene. Now we're recording the new album for Metal On Metal Records, It will be titled "'Till Death And After" and will be released in July 2014.

We are influenced by all good music! We love to listen so many different genre. We love 60's rock music (All born by Robert Johnson delta blues! He's the master), first 70's disco music, historical soundtracks and many more. But we love heavy metal!

I think that Judas Priest, Motorhead, Venom, Tank, Iron Maiden, Scorpions, Exciter, Mercyful Fate, Thin Lizzy, Saxon, Darkthrone could be a good explanation, isn't it?! We love thrash metal music too: bands like early Megadeth and Metallica, Overkill, Slayer, Razor, Nuclear Assault, Kreator, Destruction and so many more! But stop talking about old and famous bands...we really love Inepsy (have a reunion guys...i please you!), Midnight, Ranger, Iron Curtain, Toxic Holocaust and Axxion too!

In the first full length we entered in rehearsal and we created a lot of riffs all together. In the new upcoming album we individualize our best personally capacities. Slowly has write almost all texts, RedEyes and Psyki have write almost all riffs and songs.

8. What's new in the recording of your music?

We want to create our sound. We're working with great recording systems. We're working again with Mirko Ravaglia (Panic! Studios) and he has been working well for our ideas.
