Previously known as Lato, the band has been through many highs and lows in their career ranging from being offered a $250,000 record deal in the USA which was dogged with deaths and affairs. After deciding to make a fresh start, the band changed their name to The Fuse and released their debut album under the new name titled Freedom Of The City. Since the album release, The Fuse have transcended from performing to 3 people at a gig in London , to supporting UB40 in Holland to a crowd of 2,500. They have also received over 50,000 plays on YouTube and other video platforms, with various radio stations around the world now picking up on their unique sound.

In addition to this, The Fuse have also been Saving The Rainforest with over 2000 people so far signing up to this via their website. Norma Jean are writing new material for their next album entering the studio with producer Jeremy Griffin who's worked with Underoath in the New Year to begin recording. Vocalist Cory Brandan says "After making ‘Meridonal,’ we really didn’t know what we were going to do next. It’s hard to imagine that after coming out of so much work and thought being poured into something, but we’re starting to see this new record take shape and all I can say right now is it’s going to be nasty. If anything, ’Meridional’ ended up inspiring us to continue moving forward and doing what we love to do. We also moved our writing space out of Atlanta this time for a new atmosphere where I live in Arkansas. We isolated ourselves a lot more and spent a lot of time together. We’ll continue working and will be recording in January with Jeremy Griffith again. We’re really excited and are having a blast.” Don't forget to check them out on their 2011 U.S. and 2012 European Tour!

Chris Vrenna, the Grammy-Award-winning musician and producer who was most recently the drummer/keyboardist for MARILYN MANSON, has left the band to focus on his growing film and video game scoring, production career and DJ outings as well as work on the forthcoming 2012 TWEAKER release.

"I'm incredibly proud of the work I did with MANSON and look forward to the release of [the new MARILYN MANSON album] 'Born Villain'. I wish my brothers well, but with the recording largely completed, I felt it was time to return to other facets of my career, which involves production work, film scoring, and future musical collaborations," explained Vrenna.

Vrenna rose to prominence in the early '90s as a full-time member of NINE INCH NAILS, having been a permanent member of Trent Reznor's band since NINE INCH NAILS' inception and for the following eight years. His production and programming credits include the aforementioned NINE INCH NAILS, SMASHING PUMPKINS, MARILYN MANSON, GUNS N' ROSES and most recently work on EVANESCENCE's self-titled 2011 album. Vrenna is also a sought after remixer working on tracks by U2, NELLY FURTADO, RAMMSTEIN and SLIPKNOT.

Johnny Hedlund (bass/vocals) commented, “We are now ready with most of the recording, final vocals were done last week and we are very satisfied so far. We will now spend some real time on mixing this and creating a crushing sound. Anders just asked me if this might be the fastest unleashed album to date. I'm not sure but it's likely close anyhow.” The upcoming album was produced by Unleashed guitar player, Fredrik Folkare, and will see a spring 2012 release on Nuclear Blast Records.

German modern metallers DEADLOCK have issued the following update:

"After having recently announced the departure of our singer Johannes Prem, we're now officially introducing the new lineup to you!

"For the new guy behind the microphone we found a band-internal solution with John Gahlert, who raped the bass so far. As you might know, he already helped out a couple of times, when Joe was not able to play and he proofed his vocal qualities very well.

"The vacant position on the bass is taking over our longtime friend Ferdinand Rewicki, who joined us on several tours as driver, merch guy or tour mananger. For us it was no question that Ferdinand is the perfect addition for DEADLOCK and on bass."

Grammy®-nominated metal group AS I LAY DYING is premiering a new music video for their take on the Judas Priest classic "Electric Eye" on www.Ulitmate-Guitar.com. The song appears on the recently released EP, Decas, which marks the band's 10 year anniversary.

The clip was shot with director Paul Brown (My Chemical Romance, Staind, Stone Sour) at El Mirage Lake, a dry lake bed in the Mojave Desert of San Bernardino County, California.

"After a long day of sunburns and drought out in the desert I'm glad to be done fighting scorpions for the filming of Electric Eye. We came out victorious, but we probably couldn't have done it without the classic metal inspiration of Halford and Priest's legendary guitar melodies," explains front man Tim Lambesis.

Ancient Antarctic metal marauders GWAR will carry on with their plans to tour Europe in Jan. 2012, despite the recent death of guitarist Cory Smoot, during the bands "Return of the World Maggot Tour".

Said GWAR spokesman Dave Brockie a.k.a. Oderus Urungus-- "When Cory died, we all wanted to go home and take care of the family and our own grief. But the best way to do that is by playing all the shows we have planned. The response from the U.S. metal community and especially the whole international GWAR family has been overwhelmingly supportive...these GWAR fans need the chance to pay their respects to Cory, and cancelling any shows would deprive them of that."

"Let's make these shows a celebration of Cory Smoot, one of the most amazing players in metal...I am calling on the European GWAR family to get out there and drag everybody in sight to these gigs! We shall honor Flattus Maximus in the only way we know how...by rocking the fuck out!!!"

The Smoots, GWAR, and Metal Blade Records have created the "Smoot Family Fund", and GWAR and Slave Pit are calling on the metal community to support Cory's family in this tragic time. Donations can be made HERE.

"C'mon everybody from our rock star buddies to the most zit-covered bohab,"said Brockie. "Cory had a growing family that is going to need help-for a long time. Of course GWAR is doing everything we can, and we need you to help as well.

If you would prefer to donate to the Smoot Family Fund by mail, the address is:

Slave Pit Inc
C/O Smoot Family Fund
PO Box 5225
Richmond, VA 23220

The band has officially retired the character of Flattus Maximus, and will finish the U.S. and Europe tours as a four-piece. GWAR lead singer Oderus Urungus had this to say about their missing lead guitarist-

"Flattus, without our permission I might add, has stolen our Skumship and returned to his beloved home planet, Planet Home. So once again we are marooned on your miserable planet!"

For 27 years GWAR's relentless tour schedule and bristling release schedule have been evidence of the bands fanatical dedication to not only their fans but metal itself. GWAR's decision to continue on with these tours has put that dedication to the test like nothing before. Now more than ever they need your support. HAIL FLATTUS, AND HAIL GWAR!

Bay Area death metal pioneer, Autopsy, has completed recording and re-mastering work on the upcoming, All Tomorrow’s Funerals, due out February 28th on Peaceville Records. This monstrous release will contain all of Autopsy's EP's re-mastered by the band themselves, as well as new cuts, totaling 22 tracks all together. Everything from ‘Retribution For The Dead’ to the now sold-out, ‘The Tomb Within,’ will be presented on CD and DLP with all original artworks, liner notes from the band and new cover art from renowned artist, Matt Cavotta.

Said the band, “Well, we've finished recording a few new tracks for the upcoming collection album All Tomorrow's Funerals, and they came out brutal and heavy as hell. Along with the newly written songs, we did a revamped version of “Mauled To Death,” which is the very last of the old songs that needed a proper album quality recording. This album will also contain all four EP's, all of which are out of print, as well as a compilation track from 1991, so the grand total is 22 tracks. It's something we've wanted to do for quite awhile, getting all the loose chunks together in one place rather than having them split up and added on as bonus tracks here and there. Everything has been painstakingly re-mastered with the band's guidance and sounds better and more crushing than ever. And don't worry, we didn't get carried away and ruin anything! Combine all that with killer new cover art from Matt Cavotta and we've got one hell of release in the works. Look for it in February 2012. We are now working on all new material for the next album, due out late 2012/early 2013 and we can definitely promise more of what you would expect from Autopsy. There will be no compromise and no holding back. If you want 100% pure death metal brutality, you will certainly get it.”

One of the early breed of US death metal acts, and most respected names in the genre, Autopsy formed in 1987 in San Francisco, and released four albums on Peaceville Records - beginning with the classic debut Severed Survival in 1989 - before disbanding in 1995 with members going on to form Abscess.

Autopsy triumphantly and officially returned from the grave after a 15-year hiatus with the 2010 EP, ‘The Tomb Within,’ delighting critics and fans alike. The band then released its fifth full length, and first since 1995, Macabre Eternal, earlier this year to much critical acclaim. Stay tuned for more info on Autopsy and All Tomorrow’s Funerals.
