Unearth - Darkness In The Light

In the late 90s Massachusetts’s Unearth would see the light. "Darkness In The Light", is their fifth full-length, the quintet have delivered their most honest, powerful, and compelling statement to date, driving a fist into the collective gut of every image-obsessed wannabe metal band currently cluttering up the landscape, and setting a new standard when it comes to marrying precision brute force and exhilarating melody.

Whilst this took three years to make, the band's previous release saw them working at their very hardest creating a legion of followers that they can rely on no matter what. Looking back at their much earlier works 2006's III: In the Eyes Of Fire" and 2004's "The Oncoming Storm" frontman Trevor Phipps believed that they had to return to where they once began and that is what bring us back to this so-called 'Darkness In The Light" release.

With its eleven tracks this release sees forth the long time fans with the new comers "Watch It Burn" ignites an explosive retch of guitar work with powerful vocals that surge right into the music. Whereas "Arise The War Cry", reaches greater strengths in lyrical context and instrumental purposes. Now "Shadows In The Light", "Eyes Of Black", and "Disillusion", recaptures the band at their earlier peak of their musical career returning to how things were on 2004's "The Oncoming Storm".

Unearth's lyrical context with empowering music structure really compels the band's ability when wanting to make the music they want. The band will be gearing things up to bring the darkness back into the light.

Falling In Reverse Sing with the Wolves with Captivating Lyrics

Falling In Reverse's self-titled debut is set for release July 26th via Epitaph Records and their debut single "Raised By Wolves" comes out June 7th. The song and now lyrics are available for streaming.

Raised By Wolves Lyrics:

I was lost, now I’m found

I was sustained by the sound,
By the angels singing me to sleep,
Now my feet are leaving the ground.
Am I dead or am I dreaming instead,
A cornucopia of opiates are flooding my head.

I’m insane, that’s a start,
All it takes is a spark to ignite my bad intentions,
And to what I do best to your heart,
Don’t be fooled, I was raised by the wolves.
Now the moon takes its full, so you know I wont play by the rules.

I will never sleep!
Spill my blood for you.
You let me down,
One to many times!

Some way, somehow, we’re falling out,
Caught in-between my enemies!
No way, not now, I wont back down.
I draw the line with you and me!
You’re what I started, now disregarded,
One day they’ll see, it was always me.

Due to mistakes that I have made to this day,
I am trapped inside a dillinger,
Villains only of thinking of ways to get out of this god awful place.
I just learned that my fate is something I cannot escape so,
Sound the alarms, we were dead from the start.
It’s a never ending system,
Break me down, tear me apart.
Don’t be fooled, I was raised by the Wolves.
Now the moon takes its full, So you know I wont play by the rules.

I will never sleep!
Spill my blood for you.
You let me down,
One to many times!

Some way, somehow we’re falling out,
Caught in-between my enemies!
No way, not now, I wont back down.
I draw the line with you and me!
You’re what I started, Now disregarded,
One day they’ll see, it was always me.

This is the end of you,
This is where I draw the line.
And I will live.
This war is mine.

Spill my blood for you,
One to many times.

Some way, somehow we’re falling out,
Caught in-between my enemies!
No way, not now, I wont back down.
I draw the line with you and me!
You’re what I started, Now disregarded,
One day they’ll see, it was always me.

They’ll see, it was always me.

Iwrestledabearonce Reveal Track Listing & Cover Artwork For New CD 'Ruining It For Everyone,' Due Out July 26

Iwrestledabearonce have revealed the track listing and cover artwork for their new CD Ruining It For Everybody, due out July 26 via Century Media Records (see below).  Last week, the band gave fans a sneak peek at the new music when they debuted the song “Karate Nipples“ at: http://www.metalsucks.net/2011/05/19/exclusive-track-premiere-iwrestledabearonce-are-ruining-it-for-everybody-show-us-their-karate-nipples/.

Every person who pre-orders the new CD at MerchNow (http://merchnow.com/iwabopresale) will be entered to win one of five prize packs featuring 2 tickets to see Iwrestledabearonce at a show of their choice on the upcoming All Stars Tour, a meet and greet with the band, and 2 merch items of their choice at the show. One grand prize winner will be chosen out of these five to win the above PLUS every Ruining It For Everybody presale merch item. Various pre-order CD packages will be available for purchase. The first 100 IWABO posters purchased as part of a pre-order package will be autographed. In addition, the first 500 pre-orders will receive a custom IWABO birthday card.

The fearless five-some--Krysta Cameron (vocals), Steven Bradley (guitar, keyboard, programming, samples), John Ganey (guitar, keyboard, programming, samples), Mike "Rickshaw" Martin (bass) and Mikey Montgomery (drums)--still bludgeons with the best of them. In fact, their psychotic polyrhythmic groove fuels Ruining It For Everybody. Simultaneously, Iwrestledabearonce completely embrace their inner Radiohead, elegantly exorcising eerie emotion via singer Krysta Cameron.

Breakneck guitar battery subsides during a haunting chorus on the album's first single, "Karate Nipples." Elsewhere on "Next Visible Delicious," glitchy electronics derail into a vaudevillian death metal delirium. Closing track "Button It Up" ventures into raw, real darkness.Iwrestledabearonce have ruined heavy music, because no one can compete with them now.

Bradley encapsulates the band's sound this time around. "It's heavier, catchier, and better organized than anything we've done so far.  We took a really spastic blend of genres and made it more cohesive."

"The album is another story and chapter in my life," reveals Cameron. "A lot has happened since the release of our debut, and it means a lot to me that I get to express my thoughts, beliefs, and feelings through this album."

Iwrestledabearonce don't shroud anything in mystery, and they're doing exactly what they want. For Bradley, the album title serves as the ultimate middle finger to expectations, conventions, and the norm. "We do whatever the fuck we want, and that normally ends up pissing people off," he declares. "We like to take elements from every style and genre and ruin them for everybody."

For Cameron, that deconstruction includes delving deeper than your average metal singer. On "Next Visible Delicious", she serves up a warning about the dangers of not thinking for oneself. "People believe anything fed to them if they are told by someone with power that it's truth. Your head will spin trying to rationalize religion, politics, and environment. The song references mother nature becoming fed up with our ways and swallowing us whole. It's a warning of our long-awaited Armageddon. No, not the movie…"

Look for Iwrestledabearonce to take their one-of-a-kind, fearless live show on the road again starting July 21. First up, they’ll join The All Stars Tour, featuring Emmure, For Today, Born Of Osiris, After The Burial, Chelsea Grin, Attila, Alesana, Bless The Fall, In This Moment, The Ghost Inside, Motionless In White, Sleeping With Sirens and For All Those Sleeping. These dates run through August 21 in Las Vegas, with another week of shows expected to be added.

TRACK LISTING:

1. Next Visible Delicious
2. You Know That Ain’t Them Dogs' Real Voices
3. Deodorant Can’t Fix Ugly
4. This Head Music Makes My Eyes Rain
5. It Is “Bro” Isn’t It?
6. Gold Jacket, Green Jacket
7. Break It Down Camacho
8. Stay to the Right
9.  I’m Gonna Shoot

Generation Graveyard – Poison City

Built on hunger and a thirst for something more, Generation Graveyard is London's calling card to punk rock music. Their sound is dark and raw with emotion keeping that modern day hardcore hype full and focused right from the start, "Poison City", consisted of distorted bass lines and thunderous guitar riffs keeps to the beat. "All Hail the Plague", keeps the beat flowing adding a gang vocal segment with a solo guitar structure that really builds the music ever so greater. "Murder Rock n' Roll", concludes Generation Graveyard's musical ability summing it up in a solid piece that really suits the bands skill of trait.

UNEARTH: Worldwide Track Premiere Brought To You By MetalSucks

Today popular metal portal MetalSucks hosts the worldwide premiere of UNEARTH's "Ruination Of The Lost," the explosive second track off the band's upcoming Darkness In The Light full-length.

Commented vocalist Trevor Phipps: "'Ruination Of The Lost' is a pummeling frontend album song that showcases our mix of both American and European metallic influences with an Apocalyptic lyrical theme. Buz [McGrath] and Ken [Susi] both rip some serious guitar solos in the tune and their guitar harmonies are hauntingly catchy. This one is a high energy shredder while lyrically it speaks about the end of the human race in the not so distant future if we continue to destroy our planet with the current level of disregard year after year. It's hard for me to understand why people still let money and politics interfere with any real positive change even with the warning signs Mother Nature has given us. The title of the song refers to the self-destructive nature of the human race and how we are collectively so lost in our lust for money and power that we are destroying the world that gave us life in the first place."

To check out "Ruination Of The Lost," point your browser HERE.

Charging out of the late '90s Massachusetts underground in a storm of thunderous riffs and focused aggression, in 2011 UNEARTH proudly stand at the forefront of modern metal. With fifth full-length, Darkness In The Light, the quintet have delivered their most honest, powerful, and compelling statement to date, driving a fist into the collective gut of every image-obsessed wannabe metal band currently cluttering up the landscape, and setting a new standard when it comes to marrying precision brute force and exhilarating melody. Slated for North American release via Metal Blade Records July 5, the 11-track long player was recorded at Zing Studios in Westfield, Massachusetts with producer (and Killswitch Engage guitarist) Adam Dutkiewicz and mixed at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida by Mark Lewis (The Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel, Trivium, et al). Sitting in on drums during the recording was Justin Foley of Killswitch Engage/Blood Has Been Shed.

Black Tide posts new track "Walking Dead Man" on iTunes

Miami’s emerging hard rock sensation Black Tide has posted a brand new track “Walking Dead Man” for download on iTunes at: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playListId=437572945. “Walking Dead Man” will appear on Black Tide’s sophomore album Post Mortem, which is due out August 23rd on DGC/Interscope Records.

"We are excited to present to you our new single 'Walking Dead Man',” said guitarist/vocalist Gabriel Garcia. “It's inspired by all the negativity we've experienced; the negativity we try to cut out of our lives everyday. It is a dope song to listen to if you're feeling fired up about something. We hope you dig it! We're so pumped about this upcoming record, and hope you all are too."

Black Tide will hit the road in support of the long awaited Post Mortem as part of the Best Buy Music Gear Stage on the second annual Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival later this year. UPROAR will run from August 26th through October 15th, conquering North America with a massive active rock lineup, featuring veteran acts Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine, Sevendust and more.

Post Mortem was written and recorded in the summer of 2010, and is the follow-up to 2008’s Light From Above, which garnered instant critical acclaim from Rolling Stone, Spin, Revolver and more. The band followed the release of Light From Above with an appearance on the inaugural Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival, performed on the main stage of Download 2008 and capped it off by playing the entire ‘09 Vans Warped Tour.

In April 2011 Black Tide was added as support for the only two announced U.S. dates of Iron Maiden’s Final Frontier World Tour, which took place in the band’s home state of Florida.

California Thrashes till Death with Destruction

Germany would not be anything without the thrashing support of its fastest leading legends in current existence the mighty Destruction. These master thrashers have been around for over nearly a decade and continuing to reign above all others. Two years ago they raged the U.S. in support of their 2008 release “D.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N." now two years later Destruction has returned in support of their newest release “Day of Reckoning”, so will it be their day of reckoning?

On the eve of May 22, Destruction were admitted back to where they once reigned Hollywood’s Key Club where nothing but stage driving and crowd surfers just willing to get into the action kept the adrenaline pumping all night long. Destruction kicked things into high gear around 11:20ish going into more than an hour long set which included;  “Thrash Till Death”, “Nailed to the Cross” "Mad Butcher", "Death Trap", "Bestial Invasion", and "Total Desaster", among newer hits "Hate Is My Fuel", and "Armageddonizer".

The set consisted a lot of crowd surfers and stage drivers when frontman Marcel Schirmer or Schmier as he liked to be called, encouraged the crowd of raging fans to come up onto the stage and jump right back off as long as it was clean and easy - but things didn't quite go as planned. Halfway through their set Schirmer's center microphone got knocked over by a drunken fan’s clumsiness causing the frontman to get some teeth knocked out.

Schirmer was not pleased but shrugged it off no problem and kept the energy fueled for the remainder of the night. As the set list was drawing to a close the band concluded with "Release From Agony” that had a guest appearance by the co-headliners before them, Heathen's guitarist Kragan Lum who thrash and burned from start to finish. Once that was all said and done, Schirmer went on about how this night did not compare to the previous ones i.e. New York, Chicago, and San Francisco, this night was Hollywood’s night to shine and as Schirmer puts it, “California is the Capital of Metal”.

All in all let us all thrash till death!
